Willow Brook | 47 comments Just finished Branded By Fire (fantastic). Now considering what I want to read next...

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments Tiffany wrote: "...I think there is 24 total in the Dark Hunter Novels?"

Well, it all depends on how you look at it. If you're talking pure Dark Hunter books, then there are only 13, with the 14th, Bad Moon Rising, due out next month. However, there are also four Dream Hunter books, a companion guide and countless short stories in various anthologies.

Kenyon's Dark Hunter website does a good job of breaking it all down for you: http://www.officialsanctuary.com

Gems (zadien) | 134 comments Yay you finished it Willow, what did you think? I don't think I can read anything else for a while, all other books seem so much less now.

Tried Blue Bloods... not sure I like where it's going. I'll wait for the fourth book and then give them all a shot again.

LOL. Actually, when I was trying to figure out what to read next last night, I started a book that I'm sure will be good but about 4 or 5 pages into it, I found myself thinking "I just don't care." I finally settled on a historical that starts with a near drowning scene. Something to grab my attention after spending time with the Changelings.

I loved Branded By Fire. Every book seems to get even better, though my tiny brain was confused by the Alliance/Psy Council subplot. Singh writes those scenes cryptically (it feels to me). But boy, Riley and Mercy were amazing characters to read about. I loved how they worked through all that stood in the way of their relationship. I plan to do a review in the next day or two. Singh is just such a good writer. And as you point out, very different from Leigh, :-).

What is the Blue Bloods series about? Like I need more books to toss in my virtual and paper TBR piles, but I keep looking.

Gems (zadien) | 134 comments Blue Bloods is a YA vampire novel with a twist but I'm not liking the twist so much and I dunno... I felt like I was being led to one pairing and now I'm being pushed at another and I just don't like that. I've hated it in TV shows, cartoons and I won't stand for it in Books. I'm one of those people who sets herself on a OTP and then when the writer starts saying something's better I get annoyed. Hence why I'm holding out for the fourth book to shed some light.

And yet again there's another TWIN thing - beginning to hate twins in YA books (but this IS a Jace/Clary thing without any of the misunderstanding)

Yeah the subplots was a little confusing - hence why I think I need to reread it since the Alliance seemed to come out of nowhere last book. And the triangle, ooh, I'm liking that a lot. Can't wait to see your review.

Morgan (neimanmarxist) | 19 comments I'm currently reading:

Kushiel's Dart This is an excellent, epic fantasy, with lots of twists and turns. But it is taking me forever to read, there is just so many little details, that I find myself always back peddling! I picked it up because it was recommended as a tide-me-over for George RR Martin's next book in the Song of Ice and Fire series.

Assassin's Apprentice Wonderful fantasy that I also picked up to tide me over for George RR Martin's next book.

Circus of the Damned (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #3) Still loving Anita Blake, despite the terrible things I've heard.

Beyond the Highland Mist I'm a huge Outlander fan, and while this isn't nearly as epic, I am really enjoying it so far!

Lauren | 208 comments Hi Morgan,
I am reading circus of the damned too
im almost finsihed. I like the books too so far. I have heard lots of mixed reviews too. I think most like the early books but later in the series I have heard thats when they take a turn for the worse. I for one will still read them any way.

That's what I heard as well Lauren! So far I am really enjoying them. I think I heard that the plot becomes non-existent after book 9 (IIRC). But everyone's taste is different, so maybe I won't feel the same way.

Thats what I was thinking too. I just might like them. Im borrowing a bunch of the series from my cousin who also said that the later books loose their plot and is just sex stuff. She let me borrow the Meridith gentry series too. I have not read those yet have you? I haven't really heard anything bad about those

I haven't read those yet, but I want to eventually. I have SO many books in my TBR pile that I don't know what to do with myself! I think it is actually causing me to read less. LOL

Lauren | 208 comments haha I add books to my list like everyday. I have a couple of series going on at the same time but yeah its tuff to decide what to read next. right now it's easy cause i have a lot of the anita series at home so im gonna work on them for a while

I hope to finish up Kushiel's Justice and am going to start Seduce the Darkness this weekend.

message 2665: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) As a huge Anita Blake fan, I would urge everyone not to let the negative views deter you from continuing the series as long as you're enjoying it. Die hard fans will argue to the death the reasons behind Anita's "evolution" but that's for another thread. Obviously, if you get to a book that you don't like, you don't have to continue any further. Just make up your own mind. For every bad review, there is a good one.

Clerah I just started A Hunger Like No Other as well.

Charlotte, I was kinda hoping his accent would improve as he assimilates into the current time. Since I'm only a few chapters in I guess I'll see if that will happen.

Charlotte, I was with you on the accent! I don't remember if it got better, or if I just got used to it, but I really ended up enjoying the book!

message 2683: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) If Lachlain's accent is the only thing turning you off about him, I'd say you're in good shape. I really did not like Lachlain at all and almost didn't make it through that book. Thanks to some encouragement from people in this group I did eventually finish it, and ended up loving the rest of the series, but that book was a bit of a dud for me.

I'm reading The Darkest Pleasure. I'm really liking it. I know a lot of people aren't thrilled with this series, and I gotta say I understand why, but for some reason it totally works for me. I've really enjoyed this series and am looking forward to number 4.

The accent is seriously putting me off - I've gone back to finish Dark Lover instead (as it's my birthday I figure I might was well read something I'm really enjoying and I'm really enjoying Dark Lover, its one of those books that you just don't want to end, so you don't want to read it - if that makes sense).

The Darkest Pleasure is a great book, Reyes is a very interesting character and I really felt for Paris as well, but The Darkest Night is still my favourite. I love Maddox.
