I'm reading everything based on the order posted on Frost's website...http://jeanienefrost.com/reading-order/ so I have a short story and then the two Night Huntress World books up next.

I like the short about Chance...but that was mainly because I busted out laughing at the Turbo Vagisil comment. The girl in that was pretty dull though.

I usually don't read the novellas and short stories...I've never read the Sookie shorts for instance, but I decided to read them with this series for some reason...who knows why. Maybe because they were sent to me for free? Yeah that was probably it:)

Now I'm onto the One for the Money short followed by Night Huntress World books.

This one was probably my least favorite one of the series too. I really hated thinking those bad thoughts about Bones I had.

I am glad all wasn't what it seemed though.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who felt that way since I see so many 5 star reviews and "this is the best book of the series" comments.

Now I'm on to

I had sooo many issues with that book. I loved the first three books in this series, but the last three have just been missing that special spark for me. I still enjoy them, but I'm just not as excited about the series as I used to be.

Jacqueline Rhoades (jackierhoades) | 34 comments It is a good series! I love Owen and he's perfect for Gin so every time a new book comes out, I worry that something bad will happen as often does in this type of series. I'm trying to get to Jane Yellowrock #5 - Death's Rival, but other books keep getting in the way. I bought Kristen Ashley's Sommersgate and I really didn't mean to start it. Just wanted to read a few pages... So I'll read Jane next.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Read til 4am and finished Widow’s Web (Elemental Assassin, #7) by Jennifer Estep . Always filled with suspense, action and lately, more heart wrenching bc of Gin's compassion and hardcore badass. Owen definitely took Gin to a different level. Loved it!

Still enjoying Kushiel's Chosen (Phèdre's Trilogy #2) by Jacqueline Carey !

Next, Wilder (The Chosen Ones, #5) by Christina Dodd , woohoo!!! but I'm itching to re-read Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day b4 it has to return to the library Friday...

Day is currently writing bk 3 in the trilogy but she said that with how much she needs to put information about all the characters needs to be included she may stretch it out to 4 books. She doesn't want to rush or cram stuff into the third so we may have another to look forward to after Dec.

It's definitely one of those series that got better and better w each book! The first 2 actually drove me crazy from all the repetitions, the spider runes, the 5 knives, the gray on black eye colors, etc... sorry, still got to me, BUT, got me engrossed everytime, go figure.

Abby | 353 comments Can somebody tell me if there's ANY romance to those books at all??? I wanna read them but I have to have at least some romance to my books lol

Just finished Wrath (New Species, #6) by Laurann Dohner which was a little different from the rest of them and now I'm onto Trial by Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #1) by Jo Davis which I wanted to keep for next year's yearly challenge but I REALLY wanna read it lol

message 26731: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (aurorapixi) | 187 comments So it has been about 3 months since I last posted since I am always working and never have time to read. I only have 20 pages left in Dracula by Bram Stoker and will finally be finished despite the fact that I left my buddy for the buddy read in the dust. I recently finished A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin . This is a very well written book. I almost never say that about a book. It's also very frustrating and I wanted to yell and scream a few times. There were also times the book made me cry. But over all it's an amazing book and I gave it 5 stars. I would read it again anytime and probably will when future installments of the series come out. After I finish Dracula I will finally start reading Lady of Light and Shadows (Tairen Soul, #2) by C.L. Wilson . I hope I can remember what was going on in the series. Hopefully the next time I post I will have that book finished and be moving on to the third one =) Happy Reading all!!

Yes, I noticed the repetition a lot in the first two books. Every time she walked in her apartment she'd look at the sketches of the runes, her five-point arsenal, etc. And always saying "Donovan Caine". Never just 'Donovan or just 'Caine', but always 'Donovan Caine'. But she either improved in book three or I'm so engrossed in the story that I no longer notice it as much.

I've been reading them one a month as part of a monthly buddy read. It's been really hard each time I finish one to not just pick the next one up right away. But I also think it's allowed me more time to really absorb each book, plus they are such dark and emotional reads for me that I think I need the break in between.

Have you read the short Home (Downside Ghosts, #3.6) by Stacia Kane It's a nice little filler between City of Ghosts and Sacrificial Magic. Also, Finding Magic (Downside Ghosts, #0.5) by Stacia Kane was a great glimpse into a young Chess.

One of my favorite series! I've got but haven't read that latest book.

I've been on a reread kick.
Dragon Bones, Dragon Blood (Hurog, #2) by Patricia Briggs both of which are excellent. And then I reread Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs , and am moving to Blood Bound (Mercedes Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs

I read

Home (Downside Ghosts, #3.6) by Stacia Kane straight after City of Ghosts and I was very grateful for it.

I haven't got the 0.5 book about young Chess but it's in my TBR list!
You're right. I really want to take the time to absord Downside.

I'm thinking of reading Hyde, an Urban Fantasy by Lauren Stewart next. As a buddy read also.
