Glad I'm not the only one that's not *that* into it. (view spoiler) If the publisher wasn't sending me these books, I probably would have given up long ago....

When I started with the Chicagoland series I read until the fourth book because I was totally hooked! The books just keep getting better and better. Iknow the fifth and the sixth books are already out, but something happens in the fourth book that made aprehensive to read the other two. But I'll get to it. :)

I'm the same way, I was so upset in the end of book 4 that I haven't read 5 and 6 yet.

@Magda, I liked the books but I can see where some people don't. It has a university frat house kind of feel with all the houses. And the romance is slow developing and frustrating sometimes.

oh this is never a good thing haha.
I can deal with slow building relationships. I can even deal with not-so-great first books. The Kate Daniels series definitely fit both of these. As long as the payoff is as good as Kate and Curran, I would be greatly satisfied. XD

And that's just the thing. The Chicagoland series puts your patience to the most extreme tests and then the author, who LOVES cliffhangers btw, just gives you blow after blow. I think it's an amazing series, but my pshychological side just wasn't up for the next read. Someday.

Now I need to know...is this long-drawn out like Fever, with cliffhangers like Fever? Or do you at least get some resolution within each individual book? I can't handle another Feveresque series.

You can be an Alpha without being so dark and tormented! HA! It's such a train wreck of a story but I'm sure I'll read the next one that comes out at the end of the year. :)

Just started Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth and Pandemonium (Delirium, #2) by Lauren Oliver at the same time, need to pick one and focus!

Even though the relationships in those two series have their ups and downs, I still felt it was worth the work and I enjoyed the couples in both books a lot. The main characters both are strong women and their men appreciate that in them.

I was very irritated with just how sexist all the men were in book 2. It blew my mind at some of the things Faythe let them get away with saying to her. I'm hoping it gets better....

This is fascinating! I love it when there's SUCH a strong reaction to an author's work - it definitely piques my curiosity. Along the same vein, I sometimes inadvertently spoil myself - such as what happened after witnessing the readership uprising to Shadowflame, which I can honestly say is probably the only book on my Maybe-I-Won't-Touch list :D

I loved Shadowflame (Shadow World, #2) by Dianne Sylvan ! I know a lot of people hated what happened in that book, but I felt it really worked for the series and characters she's created. And it was a bad event that she actually handled quite well. But it's definitely not for everyone.

Trust me, the books get even better and you will survive and soul shocker. It is taking a different arc and
Biting Cold (Chicagoland Vampires, #6) by Chloe Neill starts the new arc in the series. It's going to be one hell of a fun ride! imo.
