I read The Alchemyst a few weeks but I still haven't gotten around to reading the sequel yet. I'm kind of being put off by the twin thing, it seems a little cliche but I'm going to give it another go when I have some more time.
What's the twin thing in the Alchemyst?....no spoilers tho':)

I am reading "Bit the Jackpot" the next in the Vegas Vampire series. I am giving it another chance after feeling a bit lukewarm about the first book.
Adrienne, there are twins in the book as the main characters and it just seems as though the story is going to follow the usual twist with twins that they usually do. If I say anymore, it will be a spoiler so I'll leave it up to your imagination. (BTW it's not like the Clary/Jace City of Bones thing in case that's what you think I meant.)Willow: I didn't think the book was going to be out until tomorrow (I was told the 7th of July) but I preordered it from the UK amazon and it comes in the post this morning and I was incredibly giddy. And there's supposed to be another one in October or so? I wonder if there'll be another anthology story like the one for Tamsyn and Nate? (I love that story so much)
Gems, Blaze of Memory is coming out Nov. 3 (not that I'm obsessing ). Must Love Hellhounds has a short story by Singh and that is out September 1st. Not sure who the characters are.
Oh! That's the one for Angels something or other I think... maybe I'm wrong. I just got the idea that it's from that series. Not Angels' Pawn though. I'll check it out because the only reason I buy the anthologies is for Nalini (the other authors while good just don't do anything for me)Oh that's right, November. That's not too long though I'm not sure if I'm all that interested in the main character. I mean Dev Santos never really interested me, I actually kind of forgot who he was until I read the blurb and looked him up (the girl's name is Katya Haas, love that name as long as she doesn't get nicknamed kitty). That's probably because we don't see him in every book, unlike our dear Sentinels and Lieutenants. Hawke on the other hand is a character I can't wait to read about or even Kit, but mostly Hawke.
EDIT: I was right, Must love Hellhounds is about Sara the director of the Hunters Guild and how she and Deacon hooked up. *squee* Again, I'm really excited about this series too... must consider doing research before posting instead of constantly editing.

I am currently reading Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward. I had heard a lot about Z, and like others he is becoming my favorite Brother.

Z is my favorite brother and his book, too. However, that book is a heart-wrenching read, so be prepared. Even until now, there are parts of that book that I cannot reread..

After your comments I went to Singh's site to see when the next book might be coming out. The tentative date is not until March 2010. During the wait, I'll read the novellas. Thanks for the info :)
I finished Branded by Fire and seriously if you want a real Paranormal Romance that really makes you feel like you're involved in the Pack then the Psy/Changeling series is the one for you. Nalini has a great way of making all the characters individual and they never fade to the background or be forgotten about a few books later. They all have their part to play and she's a great dialogue writer but the overlying plot of a political war between the three species of humans now living in earth just makes everything that much more exciting. Anyways, I'm probably going to start reading Blue Bloods now though I'd say it's more YA UF rather than PNR. I just don't want to read Mercury's War yet. For some reason Lora Leigh really doesn't capture and hold my interest.
Gems, how many of Leigh's books have you read? Some are more gripping than others. I'm a big fan of hers, though, so I'm biased.
I read the first four, then the wolf series and I'm half heartedly reading Mercury and I know I've jumped loads but I just can't really get into them. I kind of get turned off by books dedicated to sex alone and while I acknowledge that is what ellora caves cater for, I just think that she had a great premise and it kind of got ruined. If you compare the Mate theory with the Nalini Singh version, I just find Nalini's more satisfying, rather than, 'you're my mate, we have to have sex' feeling that I get from Lora's. Maybe I just read the wrong ones but the wolf series was a big turn off when they implied a certain act had to be done in order for the pregnancy hormone to kick in. I was like... O_O;
LOL. Yeah, Leigh is more extreme in her sex (she likes her kink) than Singh but that calmed down a bit (a bit) when she left Ecura's Cave. I like almost all her books (not the menage because they make me tired )a whole lot but she is not for everyone. Of the Breeds, my favorites are Tanner's Scheme and Megan's Mark. Still lots of sex but exciting plots. And for a surprisingly tender love story, the non PRN Nauti Dreams (hate those titles!), the third in her Nauti series is wonderful. It's also the tamest sexually of her books that I've read.
I like equality in the books, plot, character development and sex but Leigh doesn't really do that so well. It's very blocked up at times. There doesn't seem to be much quality between the genders either, because while Alpha males are a must for me, hers takes dominance to extreme lengths and usually they end up getting on my nerves and it seems to accept the mark, the females must submit in the bedroom rather than them consciously choosing to enter into an equal relationship. I probably wouldn't have picked this up but for reading Branded by Heat just a day after reading the Wolf Breeds, especially since Riley is a wolf breed and in comparison to the Leigh's wolf males, he's very different. He seems more of a wolf, rather than a guy with pointy canines.
I am on a roll with the Anita Blake series I like it so I am on Circus of the Damned (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #3)

How are you liking the Anita books so far?
I did not read this series in order, so I didn't really get to enjoy Anita's character development. Still I read all the books except for Skin Trade, and will continue to follow the series.
Yz I like them so far. um she is little annoying at times but I still like it. I wish she would stop saying no to Jean-Claude hehe
I am now reading the new Dakota Cassidy book Kiss & Hell. Her books are always good fun.

My only complain is that LKH is so "stingy" when it comes to Jean-Claude appearances..LOL

Gems, her Breed series is erotica. Hopefully, she'll write a mainstream PNR sometime in the future. :)
Maybe she will, and though I know it's erotica, I still find it hard to force myself to read chapters upon chapters of sex with very little plot going on especially when we're supposed to assume there's something dark and dangerous going on. Though if Cassie's story ever comes to light, will someone let me know. She's possibly the only character I'm truly interested in because her fairy was pretty intriguing.
I started with The Demon's Lexicon today, and although it looks promising I realized it wasn't what I was in the mood for today. I've since picked back up the Immortals After Dark series and am now reading Dark Needs at Night's Edge. I'm about half way in and I'm loving it so far.

Kbrose - I love that series. It looks like the fourth book, Queen of Song and Souls, got pushed back from a June publication date to October. A bit frustrating.

I find her a very imaginative writer who tells a heck of a story (with lots of sex LOL). There are sex scenes I skip over but I really enjoy all her books other than the menage stuff and some of her early EC work. But she is definitely not everyone's cup of tea.
So while reading Grimspace for a few minutes this morning before taking off for work I learned a new word. Peegasm, lol. HA-larious. I almost had a mini one, I was laughing so hard. Anyhow I'm liking this book a whole lot more than I was expecting too. I can't wait to finish :)
Grimspace is an excellent book. I have the sequel on from library. I forgot about a Pee-gasm. Gives me shivers.

I'm reading the Star Crossed series by Reno Macleod and Jaye Valentine. I love sweet, romantic M/M written by women but it's nice once in awhile to read something a little grittier. This gay UF series is certainly that. It's also written by a gay couple which I find interesting. I'm looking forward to reading some of their other stuff. They are working on a Sci-Fi book which I'm really excited about. Gay space cowboys are the bomb! :)
I Just finished Mona Lisa Awakening I liked it so much I am switching some of my other July Challenge books so I can continue with the series. lol
Currently reading Industrial Magic by Kelley Armstrong, but can't wait to get back to the JR Ward's BDB series and LKHamilton's Anita Blake series!!:) So many books, so little time
I'm currently reading DEAD AFTER DARK by Sherrilyn Kenyon. My mother-in-law practically forced it on me. However I have read one of Kenyon's books ( Night's Play) and really enjoyed it. Its just hard for me to start a series that is soooooo long. Once I get into one its really hard to stop and do any thing else. I think there is 24 total in the Dark Hunter Novels?
