Book one is the weakest, the rest are great. I'm a sucker for cowboy books though.

This entire series is the best in Urban Fantasy...imo. Killer fight scenes in this book!

Anyway, starting J.R. Rains'

....it's all i pictured in my mind upon reading it...exactly as it says....LOL then i noticed the name of the book and laughed harder.....can we tell i need sleep?! LOL

no not at all, still read them, I loved them. It's just that the Highlander series actually explained the fae & druids so it helped when I finally read Fever. Now.....don't tell Katya, she might unfriend me lol I liked Highlander far better then Fever. Highlander stands tall all on its own & well worth the read

Now I'm reading

Also, I received

NOOOOO, read all night huntress books first & then Once Burned, it will spoil Night Huntress as it is set after the last Night Huntress book released so far

Heidi, This series is more of a paranormal mystery than PNR. The romance and intimacy occurs later. I found the whole story line refreshing from the typical 'meet on page one and screw by page 2.'
I really enjoyed this series. Give it chance. :)

It is VERY VERY connected. I wouldn't read Once Burned until you finish Book 6 of the Night Huntress series, just so you can fully appreciate the wonder that is Vlad. :)

Heidi, I agree with everyone else to finish NH first bc not only Once Burned will spoil a few things BUT Vlad played an important role in NH too. Plus, much happened in NH #2. It's one of my favorites of the series!

Don't worry...I don't mind the relationship taking time to build...I was just a bit surprised since it seemed to be hinting at it. I didn't really care for the ending of this one though...I was expecting my HEA and it left it where there may be one later in the series, but their may not be. I will continue the series though, I was impressed with the writing considering it was from an indie author, but didn't feel like it was. And I like the storyline so far and think it has lots of potential.

Good to know!! Thanks!! I will hold off on Once Burned then:)I also forgot about Night Huntress World so I'll have to go by the reading order on her site:)

Thanks for the input! It's exactly why I asked. The publisher sent me the two books so I was considering reading and reviewing Once Burned so I could send them something while I'm catching up on Night Huntress, but I didn't want reading it to reveal spoilers...so since they are connected I will wait. I've been dying to read some Night Huntress ever since I read Halfway to the grave so I'm super excited!!

I thought the first one was much better than the second, but I liked seeing what happened.

Not Denise, but I liked the first few Kitty books but then got tired of the series.

Just finished

Next on the list
