Book one is the weakest, the rest are great. I'm a sucker for cowboy books though.

This entire series is the best in Urban Fantasy...imo. Killer fight scenes in this book!

Christy (christy_kennedy) | 184 comments Had to give up on Over the Cliff's Edge by B. Jane Lawson , I just could not get into this book. The lead female character was irritating beyond description and the story line was a bit one dimensional. I hate to say that because To the Cliffside by B. Jane Lawson was good.

Anyway, starting J.R. Rains' Moon Dance (Vampire for Hire, #1) by J.R. Rain .

Nina (msralways) | 528 comments Finished reading Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels, #4) by Ilona Andrews and it was AMAZING! Can't wait to read the last one. But I decided to take a break from Kate's world and I'm currently reading UnRidden (Studs in Spurs, #1) by Cat Johnson and it's okay.

no not at all, still read them, I loved them. It's just that the Highlander series actually explained the fae & druids so it helped when I finally read Fever. Now.....don't tell Katya, she might unfriend me lol I liked Highlander far better then Fever. Highlander stands tall all on its own & well worth the read

message 26412: by Sheree (new)

Sheree ok, so late last night I got to Part Two in Ash's book & if any of you've been following what I've read in the Dark Hunter my thoughts & ratings on each book lol you will see me in your head doing a happy dance atm seeing something I had said & hoped for seems to be happening ;) I'm not far into it but I think I'm in love....for now. If you've not read or started to read the series please DON'T read my reviews, I'd hate to spoil things for you. I guess, I don't really "review" my books, I think I just state my opinions, likes & what I'd have liked to have seen happen to some character's lol lucky im not a reviewer. I don't think the public or the author would live my short dribble I type, I just love the books. Bronwyn....DON'T read them

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments I finished A Hidden Fire (Elemental Mysteries #1) by Elizabeth Hunter ...it had good points and bad....and where was the sex?? With all that tension between Giovanni and Beatrice...I was looking for them to relieve it somehow...

Now I'm reading Storm of Visions (The Chosen Ones, #1) by Christina Dodd ...so far I do like it.

Also, I received Once Burned (Night Prince, #1) by Jeaniene Frost and One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress, #6) by Jeaniene Frost in the mail, I'm not ready for the night huntress book yet as I've only read book 1. Once Burned is a separate series...it's not connected to the Night Huntress world correct?? I want to make sure I can read it before finishing Night Huntress.

Heidi, This series is more of a paranormal mystery than PNR. The romance and intimacy occurs later. I found the whole story line refreshing from the typical 'meet on page one and screw by page 2.'
I really enjoyed this series. Give it chance. :)

It is VERY VERY connected. I wouldn't read Once Burned until you finish Book 6 of the Night Huntress series, just so you can fully appreciate the wonder that is Vlad. :)

Heidi, I agree with everyone else to finish NH first bc not only Once Burned will spoil a few things BUT Vlad played an important role in NH too. Plus, much happened in NH #2. It's one of my favorites of the series!

Don't worry...I don't mind the relationship taking time to build...I was just a bit surprised since it seemed to be hinting at it. I didn't really care for the ending of this one though...I was expecting my HEA and it left it where there may be one later in the series, but their may not be. I will continue the series though, I was impressed with the writing considering it was from an indie author, but didn't feel like it was. And I like the storyline so far and think it has lots of potential.

Thanks for the input! It's exactly why I asked. The publisher sent me the two books so I was considering reading and reviewing Once Burned so I could send them something while I'm catching up on Night Huntress, but I didn't want reading it to reveal spoilers...so since they are connected I will wait. I've been dying to read some Night Huntress ever since I read Halfway to the grave so I'm super excited!!
