haha! Yes Estelle, Raphael is HOT! there's def more mystery in this novel than the romance. am i'm a huge fan of relationship tension and it was so great in the first novel. although, some of the scenes with Raphael and Elena have been pretty hot and i like their connection now after her change to an angel.

Belkis, I only read two so far...this is like one book split into 8 parts....I don't care for that....the I have not made up my mind yet on this but the first book was pretty good. I thought book two where the first spanking occurs is kinda weird how quickly she went for it. But I am reserving my opinion as of yet.

yup i saw that it was like sections of a whole being released by volumes and the first 2 that are currently out have a few mixed reviews. i think i'm going to wait it out a bit until the other volumes are released and see what kind of traction and chatter they garner before i take the plunge lord know i've got loads of other books to get to anyway. keep me posted onn how you like the next one if you do decide to continue reading them. i'm going to keep my eye on them, the book junkie in me doesn't know how to ignore a potentially interesting read :) but i'm hoping for the author to eventually put them out in one complete book instead of multiple volumes.

message 25480: by Sillylittlefishey (new)

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments I just finished Midnight Sins (The Callahan's, #1) by Lora Leigh ...thankfully it actually had a storyline along with the smut, Unlike the only other Lora Leigh book I've read, Tempting the Beast (Breeds #1) by Lora Leigh . I really do hate that male dominance thing she has done with the two male leads in these books though...where they almost force themselves on the girls to prove who's in charge or whatever. But once I got past that I did enjoy the book, although it did not have good reviews on goodreads.

Now I'm to Deadly Sins (The Callahan's, #2) by Lora Leigh which St. Martin's Press sent me in preparation for the release of book 3, which I'm supposed to be reviewing once they send it.

I felt that way with

Retribution (Dark-Hunter, #16; Were-Hunter, #8) by Sherrilyn Kenyon ... I followed the story, but was left feeling like, "huh?" The story didn't seem to fit with all of the other books & I was really confused at the end. I haven't been able to bring myself to read the last two books she has published & I feel bad because I have really enjoyed this series.

message 25484: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading 'Be Mine Tonight (Brotherhood of Blood)' by Kathryn Smith. It's not extraordinary or anything like that but it's not as bad as some other books.

Chapel and Prudence, even though they're the main characters, aren't very well developed. They seem rather lacking and don't capture and pull you in as much as they could. The plot is interesting and a bit different which makes the book stand out from many other unimpressive ones.

I think she had too many different things going on, myth's, legends, history (& made up history), all the different names of these things and people left me feeling like I had missed something o-0.

I'm hoping the next one she brings out will steer away from this and get back to what we really love and enjoy.

ohhhhh Dying Wish....it was awesome! What an ending and a surprise in the epilogue..... Lots of action, we learn a little more about the vampires....and this couple (Jackie & Iain) just really seemed to work for me. I love how each couple & the action is a little different from the next book....mark of a good series. I hope you enjoy it as much.
