Wrathsqueen | 2 comments I'm currently reading Vampires Are Forever by Lynsay Sands. Hoping to get my hands on Kresley Cole very soon but haven't found any of her books in the shops here yet :(

It is a truly amazing book!! :)

message 2503: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 443 comments Reading my way through Nora Roberts' Sign of Seven trilogy, and got sucked into the plot very quickly. Finished Blood Brothers last night and jumped right into The Hollow.

message 2504: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) The Hollow was definitely my favorite of that trilogy. Fox and Layla are both so great! I was a little disappointed with the third one, though, even though both Gage and Cybil were good characters.

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Started Storm Born and liking it so far. Oh, my what a sex scene near the beginning!

A what? A sex scene? You've piqued my interest.

message 2507: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Lol. Imagine that!

message 2508: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I am currently reading Kushiel's Justice by Jacqueline Carey. It is the 5th in a series, but the second from Imriel's point of view. I really am enjoying his story.

message 2509: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments In the beginning, Michelle? I don't remember one in the beginning, LOL. :?

message 2510: by Linds (new)

Linds I am reading Fragile Eternity by Melissa Marr. I just finished Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward. It was fabulous and I recommend it.

message 2511: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Lol. Her and Kiyo, heatin' it up!

message 2512: by Melissa (new)

Melissa new_user wrote: "In the beginning, Michelle? I don't remember one in the beginning, LOL. :?"

I remember! I thought it was a great way to start!

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Yeah Kiyo and Eugenia did hook up pretty quickly. I think that is why I loved it so much. No sexual tension just let"s get it on. It was definitely hot.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments Hmm... have got to find a way to work Storm Born into a July challenge. I don't suppose anyone knows where it takes place (is it all in the Otherworld, or is there a real world location as well) - that might be an angle I can use.

message 2515: by Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (last edited Jun 30, 2009 08:08AM) (new)

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) It takes place in The real world and the Fae worlds if I remember correctly. Kiyo is a shifter so you can use it for shifters and Eugenia is human/part fae so you can use it as human with powers. Also Dorian is a fae king so you can use it as Faeries.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments LOL, well I've got one more challenge book to figure out - holiday destination, so I was kind of hoping it took place in Seattle liker her Succubus series, or somewhere equally appealing. Maybe I'll just read it in addition to my challenge books. =D

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) LOL I can't remember the City/State it is set in but it is a god book. I can't wait to read Thorn Queen.

message 2518: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I'm thinking Arizona or New Mexico. Some where in the desert, southwest.

message 2519: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Storm Born's real world locale is Tuscon. Kiyo is staying at a resort in the beginning, if that helps!

message 2520: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments Ah, yes, I remember the beginning now. Hm, not the best scene I've read but not bad.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments Hmm... Tucson, eh? Too hot for my vacation destination. It will just have to be an extra book for me. ;)

Any wizards, witches, mages or sorcerors? That's the only catgory I'm still trying to fill.

message 2523: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Isn't there a shaman in Storm Born? That would count, right?

message 2524: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Wait, Eugenia IS the shaman. Duh.

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Hmm I believe Eugenia uses magic. I know she has powers that cme from being part Fae and I do believe that her step dad was some sort of magic user( I wanna say her was a mage but I really can't remember it's been about a year) who taught her how to use her powers or control them. So yeah if I'm remembering correctly their is magic being used.

message 2526: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Sorry, one more. I'm pretty sure she fights demons, too.

message 2527: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments LOL

Yes, Eugenie is the shaman. Her step-father is too.

And Jael, you are so lucky that I already figured she had to have something up in her background, you spoiler, you!

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Oh my god I'm sorry for the spoiler Michelle. I was just trying to answer the questions. LOL ( bad poster bad)

message 2529: by The Flooze (new)

Kinda' obvious, so I forgive ya'!

message 2531: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Lol, you guys are cracking me up.
So yes on the magic? You guys think I can add this for my challenge? It sounds really good.

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Thank you for your forgiveness michelle

Nichole- i don't see why not and when your done let us know your thoughts.

message 2533: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Sounds good to me! I'll say Jael said it was okay. :)
I'll definitely let you know what I think!

message 2534: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Lol

Yeah, there's definitely magic going around. She's EVEN got a wand.

message 2535: by Melissa (new)

Melissa And lucky you, the sequel is due out 7/28! I know I'll be at the bookstore that day. I liked these characters.

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) | 737 comments Woohoo, my copy of Prey arrived yesterday and I finished up my last June challenge book last night, so today it's all about catching up with Faythe and Marc!

message 2540: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 208 comments Dream Chaser I will be starting tonight i am really excited

message 2541: by Clerah (new)

Clerah I just started Raine. I'm enjoying the book so far, but I must say the "extra" parts of Jordan threw me for a loop there. Just a bit weird for me.

I'm also listening to JD Robbs' Naked in Death. I'm loving the relationship that is developing between Eve and Roarke - but also enjoy the case that Eve is trying to solve. A nice mix of romance and plot!

message 2542: by Ruth (new)

Ruth Violet | 20 comments right now i am reading dead perfect-amanda ashley. it is sooo good. about read half of it last night. wow.

message 2543: by Shoshana (new)

Shoshana | 1 comments I'm reading a few books right now...but mainly been captivated by One Scream Away by Kate Brady.

message 2544: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) I'm about halfway through Patricia Briggs' story in the On the Prowl anthology, Alpha and Omega. I have to finish this quick so I can start Cry Wolf for the July challenge! But 30 pages in and I'm already interested in Charles and Anna's story, so I'm looking forward to Cry Wolf.

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 386 comments Started Dark Lover, thought I'd finally find out what all the fuss is over The Black Dagger Brotherhood. Have to say I quite like Wrath.

message 2546: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline Coleman (jacqden04) | 18 comments I am currently reading The Shack at work.

I loved that short story, more than the actual full book, but they're both great!

He is rather yummy. Wait till you meet the other Brothers properly, and then you can decide on your favorite. ;)

message 2550: by Starling (new)

Starling I'm working my way thought the whole Sookie Stackhouse series. I'm on book three. I needed to fill in book five and while I did that I bought all of the rest that are in paperback.

This is a reread situation since I've read all the books at least once. I was surprised at how closely the first TV season matched with book 1. And totally freaked when Tara showed up in book 2. I remembered the character from the books, but she so did not match up with the character on TV that I didn't even realize that the TV Tara originated in the books.
