ooooh, I love the breeds. LOL Good solution. Plus, whenever I read a UF or YA I need some steamy sex after.

**Edit** I meant to read some steamy sex after. LMBO that sounded bad.

I had never been so happy to finish a book before... it wasn't *bad* writing...there's a lot more for the reader to ascertain on their own, maybe too much. I read a review that this was supposed to be a romance for "smart readers". Pfffffff - I rather be force fed than having to spend hours going back to reread passages and doubting my sanity. I AM interested in the H/h pairing in the 2nd book, but I don't think I'll be returning to this series any time soon. Need a breather. which I'm taking with Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione . teehee

I haven't read it yet either. I'm up to (or is it down to?) 22 on the library wait list. I'm probably going to get it in about a week, and honestly, I have no desire to read it now. I've been hearing so much hype about it since the end of last year that I'm convinced I'm probably not even going to like it. Which hopefully means I will be pleasantly surprised.

...M.Brook..."smart readers", hmmm... not that there are "dump readers" BUT I can speak for myself, there ARE times I needed just simple-stupid-sexy-storyline read, as long as there are great chemistry, dialogs & characters...I'm good. Agreeing with "smart readers" for M.Brook, her styles, plots and foundations she built for her worlds ARE the most complex I've yet read. Unfortunately, not a lot of readers have the interest, focus and patience to absord all of it. I did struggled but not giving it up yet...

message 24074: by Christine (new)

Christine | 1127 comments Denise Nanna wrote: "What are your favorite shifter books? I am wondering if I have missed any."

Limiting it to series primarily about shifters, my top choices are:
Psy/Changeling by Nalini Singh
Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs
Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews (although main character is not a shifter, shifters plays a huge role)
World of the Lupi by Eileen Wilks (again main character is not a shifter)
Kitty Norville by Carrie Vaughn

message 24075: by Komal (new)

Komal | 162 comments Ashley: I'm only a few chapters in but I like it so far especially the way it's written, it's very straight forward.

Annie: Lol phew! I'm not the only one :)

Christine: I understand what you mean. I've wanted to read it for a while (so many people seem to like it here) but by the time I got it, I had to force myself to even pick it up. But I'm pleasantly surprised to see it's not all to bad. All the hype surrounding it is getting annoying though.

All this love for Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning has made me want to re-read the fever series. I'm going to wait until after I finish her other series, since I've heard tales of connections between the two.

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments Finished Divided in Death (In Death, #18) by J.D. Robb ...this one was a little to techy for me with the whole government spy agency etc in it. But I did find the discoveries about Eve's past interesting even if it did cause problems between her and Roarke...

Now on to Visions in Death (In Death, #19) by J.D. Robb ...so far so good.

Michelle(Chelle) aka Nightshade - Cake Whisperer (michmag) I am reading A Fall of Water (Elemental Mysteries Book #4) by Elizabeth Hunter . Excellent series.

Cmkage | 231 comments I finally got The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2) by Richelle Mead . It's absoultey amazing. So, so good. I was laughing, swooning, shouting and cheering at the book. I probably looked like a complete lunatic. I know a lot of people don't read the Vampire Academy/Bloodlines books because they are ya, but aside from the cheesy title of the first series, they really aren't like typical ya books. I've rarely read a series that had me so emotionally invested.
