I'm reading Untouchable by Linda Winstead Jones, and I'm digging it so far. I love a good fantasy romance.

Exactly. I mean, prior to Jane, V was a total sadist, and heck, even after Bella, Z is pretty vishous. Oh well... ;)

Just started Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur. So far it's pretty good.

Chrissy315 Jones | 12 comments Just started Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs. I love her books. I just finished What's a Ghoul to do? by Victoria Laurie. I really enjoyed the book.

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 386 comments I'm about half way through Dead Until Dark. Have to say I'm struggling with this. Don't really like any of the characters. Am I the only one???

I've started to watch the series on-line (as I don't think it's made it over to the UK yet), think I prefer it to the book.

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 443 comments Just starting Turbulent Sea by Christine Feehan. I love her Drake Sisters series, but for some reason I've delayed reading this one.

Any other readers of this series? How does this one compare to the others? It just seems like it's going to be a much darker book - and no, I don't have the Sight!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 461 comments BJ I read Turbulent Sea. It was good. I like the Ghostwalkers and Carpathians more though. I wasn't crazy about the celebrity stuff, but Ilya can eat crackers in my bed anytime.

No! You're not! Yay!!! I'm so excited, you're my new best friend. I tried a couple different times and was never able to finish it.

Gotta be honest, I didn't really like the TV show either, though I might give it another chance now that it's out on dvd. I'll see if I can get it from the library.

message 2366: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (last edited Jun 13, 2009 01:14PM) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) I'm reading Caressed By Ice by Nalini Singh.
I'm on page 45-ish. What I'm liking so far is Judd's instinctive need/desire to give Brenna what she needs. Her brothers and the rest of the pack are being so overprotective they're smothering her, and Judd sees what she really needs and is willing to give it to her, long before he even consciously knows that he has feelings for her. It's so sweet.
In a genre so crammed full of overprotective alpha males who like to throw their woman over their shoulder and hide them in a cave, it's refreshing (and romantic!) to read about a man who sees that what his woman actually needs is freedom and will help her gain that at any cost.

Judd is one hot Psy, even if that term is almost an oxymoron, and his book Caressed By Ice is my favorite in the series.

I agree with both Nichole and Yz about Judd. That man was something else. :)

I've watched the first couple of episodes and it's not bad. There's a lot more sex than there is in the book. Bill is rather hot too!!!

Thank god I'm not the only one!!!!

I finished the book and the only character I really felt drawn to was Bill. I just kept waiting for some full on Vampire anger, you know - for him to completely loose it, but he didn't. Just felt a bit limp. Expected a bit more.

The TV show is so much better than the book, there's a lot more going on and Bill comes over much better in the flesh, so to speak. Not so much of a wuss.

Guess I'll try Anita Blake now, or the BDB.

message 2372: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne you know i always prefered bill over eric::if i'm really really honest with myself i kept reading them in the hope that sooks and bill would get back together::and b/c i started reading the series after they split up::i needed to know how they met:)::more sex::hot bill::sounds good to me::

Bill and Sookie break up!!!

Damn, guess I'm going to have to keep reading them now.

I'm only up to episode 3 of the TV show and virtually all the sex has involved Jason - no surprise there. But Sam has also gotten lucky (he barks in his sleep!)

message 2374: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne oooops sorrry::i always do that::manage to get a spoiler in some where without realizing i've done it::anyway will try to locate tv series::
i'm a big bdb fan they're deliciously dirty and well worth reading::plus the storyline is really well developed and interesting::theres alot going on there::

The first in the trilogy only came out on June 2nd but Del Toro is highly acclaimed no matter what he does so I'm looking forward to it.

Eek! The guy who plays Bill creeps me out. But then I'm not a fan of Anna Paquin either. But hey, Eric is nice. I don't love the show, but find it entertaining.

I am loving it.

Really??? But then I have a thing for tall dark brooding types. He's dreamy. Eric does nothing for me I'm afraid.

message 2386: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments Nita, I liked the mythology too, but they were just in their heads too much, and then Nikodemus took a backseat for some reason, even though he's a main character, LOL.

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 443 comments Just finished Turbulent Sea - I liked it and was disappointed in it at the same time. Because the heroine and her band are on a singing tour, there are regular references to drugs and indiscriminate sex - my disappointment was in the acceptance, stated and implied, that it's too much of a temptation to resist, altho the heroine resisted, thankfully.
