I went through a couple of books after the fever series being very frustrated to get back into something. Angel's Blood was the one that got me out of my lull. It was sooo good cover to cover that I thought it had a chance to eclipse the Fever series only because it was the first book and i felt it was better than Darkfever. IMO the rest of the books aren't as good so it didn't topple Fever for me. Its not just a hunter vampire story it is a lot different. Lots of action and steamy mixed in with a great story.

This is an absolutely fantastic series. If you're enjoying this one, you'll love the rest!

I adore Cat and Bones. Well, I adore Bones. Cat got just a tiny bit annoying for a book or two, but then she straightened out (grew up really, which isn't that we want to see from out characters?). It's a great series.

Shaineinok | 203 comments I borrowed a copy of Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse #12) by Charlaine Harris
Read it and it's slightly better than the last but nothing like the first few books. It's become obvious that the author no longer cares about the series. So sad and disapointed :(

That was a hard book for me to get into. I read the first few books of the series when I didn't have something better. A friend kept telling me to stick with it. Somewhere along the way though they got good and I really have enjoyed the later books in the series.

Glad to see that I wasn't the only one missing the party. I just finished Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost last night it was awesome. Best book I've read in a while. Just debating what to move onto next. Way to many choices.

Shawn | 375 comments finished Branded by Fire (Psy-Changeling, #6) by Nalini Singh and started Blaze of Memory (Psy-Changeling, #7) by Nalini Singh .
This series is awesome. Each book brings new twists and turns and leaves you guessing. I love trying to figure out who "The Ghost" is and love that each story isn't a repeat of the last. If you like shifter books you will love Psy-Changeling.

message 23267: by Ty (new)

Ty finished Succubus Revealed (Georgina Kincaid, #6) by Richelle Mead a few days ago. (shout out to P.A. for the recommendation). I had to take a few days to marinate/recover/mourn the end. Does anyone else do that? Let it "breathe" after ending a good series? I feel disloyal jumping into something new so soon, like I'm rebounding too quickly.

anyhow, next up is either Rock Chick (Rock Chick, #1) by Kristen Ashley or Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance . complete 180, those two. :)

Yeah, this book really doesn't grab you from the first page. But that's true for a lot of series. It usually takes a while for all the introductions to get out of the way.

In the end I enjoyed the book though and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Aimie (aim4theneck) | 98 comments Just finished Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades, #2) by E.L. James and Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James absolutley loved the series, the author seemed to have swallowed a dictionary, seriously some of the words she used that wasn't needed, no twenty odd year old would use those words. Oh and Grey's constant using the word "come" did my tree in.. But still loved them...
I have also just finished Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs awesome as ever, I love Charles and Anna..
not sure what I am going to read next maybe Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Honestly, I never liked Seth. I thought he was boring. I still enjoyed the series. Georgina was a great character and most of the secondary characters were amazing, too. But I just could never get excited about Seth, which kind of spoiled the books for me a little bit.

It took me a while to really get on his team. Mostly, I was cheering on Georgina. Seth is definitely not the alpha, or even beta, male that is written nowadays. Dunno what made me start rooting for him, probably his eventual despair and emotional devotion to Georgie. A man's gotta suffer...

I would say [bookcover:Darker After Midnight|12042279] bc you're furthest into that series. The other series are still early if not starting a new series, I wouldn't be able to focus a new series knowing the latest book is waiting for me...hope that helps. That said, I haven't read IAD but the other series are very good.
