I agree, I am liking Dimitri. Do we ever find out about the moroi? They are vampires but they aren't immortal? This is the first I've seen

This is one of those series I wish I could forgot so that I could read it again for the first time.

I love this series P.A. Can't wait to see what you think.

Really never came on my radar but seems to be high on a lot of people's lists.

You will love the series, and yes just read it - you will know everything you need to know by the end.

It is definitely one of the best series that I have ever read and it is one of my top books of all time. Just amazing.

I am just past half way and loving it. I don't read a lot of YA but I loved her Succubus series so had to give it a try.

If you liked book 1, book 2 and 3 are better, IMO. Especially when you need to switch genre OR while enjoying the afterglow from a great read. It worked for me bc it prevented from comparing hotties/plots/romances.

nope, not immortal, they can't stay in the sun for long.It is interesting as Richelle mead studied religion I think it was & apparently it has to do with the myths from Russia (I think that's the Strigoi also). She was an English teacher lol I smile when ever I find out an author was once an English teacher as I went to many many school's & every time I loved my English Teacher's & they were my favourite teacher's. I got a bit frustrated with Frostbite, the second but by the third I was completely hooked. Trust me on this by the fourth you will be shocked, saddened, in love...you know all those awesome emotions some great books give you. If it hadn't been me waiting for the next book in this series all those years ago, I would NEVER have found adult p&r When I decided I trusted her writing enough to read Succubus Blues while waiting & counting down the day's to the release. I read these after Twilight. I had posted on fb how I needed a good book to read & was lost as to what to read next. An older friend commented & told me of this series & that she swore it was better then Twilight by far & well....she was right. Happy reading

I hate to say it but I totally agree. I really enjoyed the first two but the third was kinda disappointing. I hope the last one is better also.

I totally agree with you on that one. I am still not sure if I will get the last one, I will wait to hear what GR's think of it first.

Now I'm debating whether to start

Those are both great series, but I'd put my money on Nalini Singh any day. But then I prefer her writing style to Ward's and I think she's done a better job at consistent world building with strong female characters (in her Psy/Changeling series) versus the BDB series. I'd still recommend them both to anyone, I just personally prefer Singh over Ward.

I could never get into that book, I don't think I even finished. Gasp!

I really liked Angel's Blood. I haven't gotten around to Dark Lover yet and I'm still waiting on Deadlocked from the library.

there is a questions and answer session planned this month with the author

I absolutely LOVED Shadowfever!! Glad you enjoyed it as well. I would vote for BDB, but only because I haven't read that other series you mentioned. As for Deadlocked...I've read 3 chapters and have been bored out of my mind...hope it picks up soon....

Katya, No, unfortunately, it was not available on kindle to Australia so I missed out. Maybe one day it will turn up in print or become available to me. Did it have any relevance to the series? I'm really enjoying it and will start on the sequel next.

Reading

Thanks Lisa. I'm actually looking for something dark and twisty to get invested in so it'll be perfect for me :)

Yeah I tried to read one of Kim Harrison's books, but I too could not get into it. Karen Moning's Fever Series is one of my favorite books! I just love them!

I just finished that book! It took me about three chapters before I really got into it, but then I liked it a great deal. I gave it a five-star rating.

I love Guild Hunter. BDB is great too but I personally prefer The Guild Hunter series. I haven't gotten to the latest Sookie yet.

If you like ghosts, creepy situations, witchcraft, mystery, tormented people, murder, secrets and a great story....this is for you! This trilogy, quite honestly, has to be one of the best stories that I have EVER read.
