It definitely takes a bit of time to get used to this world. I remember absolutely hating the first half of Magic Bites because of that. But the series really does get better with every book. It's one of my absolute favorites.

It's definitely not you. The first book was confusing with the shifts between magic and tech not being that well explained. Plus, it took me awhile to get all the different groups straight: The Pack, The People, The Mercenary Guild, The Knights of the Order. There's a lot going on in Atlanta! I think the authors do a better job of explaining things in book 2.

Pansy | 740 comments Just finished Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day and it was good. Not the best book I have read in this genre but good. I got tired of the fighting or the misinterpretation of things. They both have issues but it just became overwhelming. Everytime something happened I knew it would turn into a fight.

You're not the only one. Took me 2 tries to get through the book. Quite technical with all the magic terms and whatnot. Book 2 is better and I just loved the rest of the series.

Robin | 1 comments Has anyone else read Deadgirl by B.C.Johnson yet? It was excellent. I'm hoping this is going to be a series. At least a trilogy. The main character, Lucy Day, is the girl next door who winds up dead (sort of) on her first date. This is not your normal dead, ie vampire, ghost, etc. A totally new twist on dead!

I loved them both. I was going to return them to the library bc I was hogging too many books. I would've read them eventually but so glad it was sooner than later.

Have a bunch of great books ahead: The Darkest Seduction (Lords of the Underworld, #9) by Gena Showalter Darker After Midnight (Midnight Breed, #10) by Lara Adrian Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward

message 22978: by Cyndi (new)

Cyndi (cyndib810) | 23 comments I just finished The Mating (Law of the Lycans, #1) by Nicky Charles by Nicky Charles and it was a wonderful story! The love story between Kane and Elise was very sweet. I immediately read the next book in the series The Keeping (Law of the Lycans, #2) by Nicky Charles and though it was also good, it was a little slower to get to the good stuff for me. But I truly like the storyline and characters, so I'm on to the 3rd book in the series The Finding (Law of the Lycans, #3) by Nicky Charles .

I also stumbled across The Goblin King (Shadowlands, #1) by Shona Husk and was pleasantly surprised by it. It was a great story too, so I'm waiting for Kiss of the Goblin Prince (Shadowlands, #2) by Shona Husk to come out on Tuesday.

And, I'm anxiously awaiting City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5) by Cassandra Clare on the 8th.

There's a line break every time you post a cover or a html code. Apparently gr is working on it, but they seem to be taking their time.

I really liked Dark Side of the Moon (Dark-Hunter, #9; Were-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . Thought it was somewhat different from all the other DH stories and it was refreshing. I'm still reading Slade (New Species, #2) by Laurann Dohner and I'm so excited for City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5) by Cassandra Clare to come out on the 8th. Until then I'll probably get through with Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward so I can get to the really good stuff with Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward .

Nina I loved the New Species Series....especially Valiant, Justice & Tiger's Book. And the author wrote a series about aliens....The Zorn Warriors which is as good.

On her website the author answers these questions:
Q - Are female and primate Species getting books?
A - Yes. You’ll see stories about them soon!
Q - Will Vengeance, Brass, Breeze, and Flame get their own books?
A - Yes!
Q - Are there going to be more Zorn books?
A - This summer I’m devoting time to finish writing Vhon, Cotto, and Vinlotti’s stories.
Q - Will Sky be the last Cyborg Seduction book?
A - No. I have outlines and chapters started for at least four more books. It’s an open series (New Species is too) which means that I don’t have a set number of books planned, nor do I see ending the series any time soon.
