Honestly, as much of a fan as I am for the series. You're not missing anything if you don't read them.

I think I keep reading BDB because I occasionally like to torture myself. And it gives me something to rant and complain about for a few days whenever I read one. I think what really gets to me is the potential that's there. Something about her books usually sucks me right in, despite the things I can't stand. If she could just follow through on some of the story lines instead of dragging them on and on and on and beating us over the head with them, and if she could be more consistent in how her characters behave, and if she could decide whether she's writing PNR or UF, it could be great.

message 22854: by Sheree (new)

Sheree lol I agree, I was frustrated soooo many times but I guess that was the way to make us keep reading. I am glad I finally read them though

Absolutely LOVE Cat & Bones! That series os fantastic. The chemistry between then is great n all of the secondary characters are just ad engaging. I think this is a very intelligently written series n one of my favorites.

Abby | 353 comments Definitely... It's a series that even if I'm reading something else, I'll drop that to read the next book in the series lol

Pansy | 740 comments Just finished Zane's Redemption (Scanguards Vampires, #5) by Tina Folsom and it was very good. I read through the books pretty quickly. I enjoyed them a lot. Starting Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day then Under a Vampire Moon (Argeneau, #16) by Lynsay Sands . I have been waiting for the next Argeanu book. I really love the series. It was my first adult PNR series.

How was Yvette's story? I still have to read Zane's but I'm iffy about reading hers because I'm so used to reading a male's POV unless it's UF ...

Goodness Christine u hit it perfectly! That's exactly how I feel about this series! It's a love hate relationship. There are moments of greatness in her writing n then there are so many frustrations as well. But its like at this point you're so invested in the story n the characters that you just need to know what happens next to them. I'm currently reading Lover Reborn and dealing with the love hate thing right now with the way Tohr's story. But you expressed my feelings perfectly. And to add insult to injury by quoting Mrs Ward "true that" LOL

I found myself pleasantly surprised by Yvette's story. I have to say it is actually one of my favorites and I usually feel the same way you do about the male POV.

Amy (amescat) | 279 comments I've been trying to listen to Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep for two days! I find that it's not holding my interest like other books have and I keep getting destracted. I have had to "rewind" it several times, and back to the begining at least twice. I am 5 hours into it and I honestly don't really care whats going on.

Should I just find something else to listen to right now and maybe come back to it later? Is this book/series worth the effort?

I may have to go with that. I get a lot of my tbr in via audio while I'm at work or while I'm commuting. Some books just need to be read and this may be one of them for me.
