Michelle (michelle_mc) | 371 comments I read the first two in the Breed's series by Lora Leigh. Not sure what I think of them yet, do they get better?

I re-read Lori Handeland's Blue Moon as I borrowed the next few from a friend. Has anyone read her other series yet?

Not sure which series I will continue with first.

message 2202: by Libby (new)

Libby (ailish) | 1 comments I just finished "Wicked Game" by Jeri Smith-Ready. (LOVED it!) I was also reading The 3rd book in the Southern Vampire Series, Club Dead, by Charlaine Harris. So I'm back to reading that now. :)

I'll probably watch Inkheart soon. I finished it yesterday, and the last third was actually quite good. I just wish an editor had suggested to Funke that she trim about 200 pages out. I kept getting bored when the characters were being kidnapped, escaping, running, being kidnapped, running, running some more... get on with it already!

I bought the new Georgina Kincaid book, Succubus Heat, yesterday and promptly proceeded to read it all last night. I'm kinda groggy today, but... I had to finish it!

I'm reading Extraordinary Engines, a steampunk anthology, right now.

Lauren | 208 comments ugh when ever I find a nice juicy book it never fails to be an e-book. I want paper back!

message 2205: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments Michelle, I've read Handeland's Moon series and her Phoenix Chronicles series, and I like the Phoenix Chronicles better. The first series was episodic with an adventure and couple in each, whereas her second series has an overarching save-the-world plot with the starring duo. Both series are still very monsters-and-slayers, but she's moved to UF, I think.

Thanks, i've been eyeing it up on my Amazon recommendations list for awhile but was trying to hold back from starting yet another series. I might just add it to my list for this month!

message 2207: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I just started Edge Of Hunger by Rhyannon Byrd. Enjoying it so far.

message 2209: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Just started Bound by Shadow which is an author I haven't read before. I've heard good things about the series so we'll see.

message 2210: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Listening to the audiobook of The Gargoyle. I'm somewhere in chapter 3, I think. Man this book is gross.

message 2211: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments I tried Bound by Shadow. Couldn't be bothered to finish it.

Nichole, that's one thing I haven't heard about The Gargoyle. LOL.

message 2212: by Chrissy315 (new)

Chrissy315 Jones | 12 comments I am reading The Darkest Pleasure by Gena Showalter. Love her books. My favorite author is Karen Marie Moning. I love her Fever books. Can't wait until Dreamfever comes out.

message 2213: by Nifferness (new)

Nifferness | 33 comments I'm stepping outside the genre right now and reading The Machiavelli Covenant by Allan Folsom. It's good so far, although I haven't had much of a chance to read that book as I am unfortunately reading mostly from my Anatomy & Physiology book right now :(

message 2214: by Leana (new)

Leana (craftychick) | 44 comments I am stuck on YA. I have too many books to not read them. I am almost finished with Jessica's Guide To Dating On The Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey. I had low expectations to begin with, so I think that helps. I am not liking some of the points and messages though it is promoting. Not that I am one to believe that people are what they watch or read or listen to. I don't know. I can't decide yet what I am going to rate the book. It's somewhere between a 2 or 3. I don't hate it but I do not like it as much as other books I have read. It has some laugh out loud moments though so that is probably why I will give it a 3. Next I am reading Wings by Aprilynne Pike. It has a review by Stephenie Meyer on the cover, so I had to buy it. I am a dork, I know. :)

Happy Reading!

message 2215: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) I just finished A Lick of Frost. It was pretty good. I was pissed about what happened with Frost though he's like one of my favorite characters! Why couldn't it have been, like, well anyone but him, doyle, or rhys...and I guess Galen just because Merry likes him so much but still.

I still find these books hard to get into but I want to finish the series and i am very excited that the plot can go in a different direction now. I have to go get Swallowing Darkness and then I'll be all caught up but until then I'm reading THE WARRIOR HEIR. Its okay, nice quick read.

By the way does anyone know if Divine Misdemeanors is going to be the last Merry Book?

message 2216: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (gravy) I'm in the middle of Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole!
Barbara and Stav and anyone else, a new Undead book comes out Tuesday! Can't wait!

message 2217: by Ranata (new)

Ranata Clark (thatchicknata) ReVamped is what I'm currently reading at the moment.

Jessa, I've never heard of this series before but it looks really cool! Just what I needed...one more series to add to the list, ugh.

message 2219: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) I made the mistake of reading the first book in the Campus Cravings series by Carol Lynne and now I can't stop reading them! Good thing they're short because I won't be satisfied until I've read the entire series. I should be reading my last challenge book but I just can't seem to bring myself to pick it up. Time's running out so I better get to it.

message 2220: by [deleted user] (new)

Picked up How To Marry A Millionarie Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks last night. So far I really am enjoying it.

message 2221: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (gravy) Barbara, is that one funny? I've heard of it, but haven't picked it up yet.

message 2222: by [deleted user] (new)

Kimberly wrote: "Barbara, is that one funny? I've heard of it, but haven't picked it up yet."

It is. I've read so many dark paranormal romances that it's nice to pick up a funny one now and then.

message 2223: by Brandy (new)

Brandy Hankinson (angelicabella7) | 2 comments I am just finishes Touch the Dark by Karen Chance. It is the first book I absolutly fell in love with since New Moon. I recommend it to anyone who loves vamp romances. It is very dicriptional you'll love it.

message 2229: by Kaz. (new)

Kaz. Almost half way through Red Headed Stepchild and I am loving it so far, I was really surprised that it has a lot of laugh out loud moments so I'm really happy about that, I love a book that can make me laugh.

message 2230: by Virginia (new)

Virginia Put me in the Mary Janice Davidson camp, although I like Betsy better than Fred. (Love, love Sinclair.)

@ Barbara
How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire is definitely funny, but it has real emotion, too.

message 2231: by [deleted user] (new)

Started The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter. Really like it so far.

How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire was great. Virginia, you are right when you say it has emotion too. I was crying at the end. I'll be reading the rest in the series for sure.

message 2235: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) I am currently reading SKIN TRADE by Laurell K Hamilton. I love my library :D I didn't even have to buy it they have all the new releases from today already on the shelves :D

Well off to read. SKIN TRADE should be awesome because LKH brought back Edward. And if this book is anything like Obsidian Butterfly it will rock :D

I'm three quarters of the way through The Darkest Night - how hot is Maddox??? It's the first one of her books I've read and I'm loving it.

message 2237: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Kyle, LKH hasn't given any impression that I know of that Divine will be the last Merry. I'm pretty sure the series will be continuing.

Discriminating Fangirl: I just finished Succubus Heat...am I the only one getting sick of the Seth-angst?

Read Midnight's Daughter and fully caught up on Cassie Palmer too...I just love Karen Chance. So worth wading through the info dump at the beginning of her first book.

And I too am fully in the MJD camp! While I'm waiting for B&N to deliver the newest, I'm reading another of hers called Doing it Right.

message 2238: by Kaz. (new)

Kaz. I have just finished reading Red Headed Stepchild and I really enjoyed it,and have just started reading Succubus Blues now.

message 2239: by Terrea (new)

message 2241: by jeanie (new)

jeanie lepore (jylepore) | 32 comments Just finished Skin Trade and I won't give any spoilers but I was disappointed with this book.It seemed to pale in comparison to most of the others in the series. Like anticipating a really good dessert and then realizing it was sugar free.

message 2242: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I just started Dark Highland Fire by Kendra Leigh Castle. It is the second in a series. I am enjoying it so far.

message 2243: by Kyle (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) Jylepore, thank you for not spoiling it. Unfortunately I have to run to work but I can't wait to read more. I'm 100 pages in and its reminiscent of Obsidian Butterfly which was my favorite of all the books anyways :D

message 2244: by LilMisGrayBrisk (new)

LilMisGrayBrisk | 502 comments I'm getting ready to start reading The Sword by Jean Johnson.

message 2245: by jeanie (new)

jeanie lepore (jylepore) | 32 comments Kyle,
I have loved all of them up until this one. I am by no means saying it isn't worth a read, especially if your an Anita fan, but I guess I just wanted more from it. This book hasn't turned me off from the series and I will definitely pick up the next one. I hope you enjoy it. Obsidian Butterfly was amazing, but I don't think I could pick a favorite.

message 2246: by [deleted user] (new)

Charlotte, I finished "The Darkest Night" last night. I loved it. Maddox was amazing. I have "The Darkest Kiss" that I'm going to start soon. This is already a favorite series of mine.

Started "Undead and Unappreciated" today. I can't get enough of Queen Betsy. :)

message 2247: by Kyle (last edited Jun 03, 2009 07:31PM) (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) Jylepore,

I have been sort of disappointed with the latest ones before SKIN TRADE. I don't know, the sex wouldnt bother me so much if she didn't give such a stupid reason to be doing it :P

Plus, I think Anita is one of those characters whose books are better with storyline/plot and focusing more on the growth of her powers then the physical growth her hands can cause on her buffet of men :P

message 2248: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments LOL, Kyle! I have to say, I don't mind the sex so much, but I did prefer the books when they were mainly focused on the crime solving or supernatural politics aspects. I think the plot that turned me off the most was the pregnancy scare. Too much freaking out going on. I'm also anxious to get back to her personal powers as Necromancer, and I miss Larry. I get WHY LKH brought the arduer into play...I just think letting it take center stage for so many books did a disservice to all the other awesome things we could be exploring in greater detail.

And with that, I'm off to read Skin Trade!

message 2249: by Kyle (last edited Jun 03, 2009 08:00PM) (new)

Kyle Borland (kgborland) Michelle M. wrote: "LOL, Kyle! I have to say, I don't mind the sex so much, but I did prefer the books when they were mainly focused on the crime solving or supernatural politics aspects. I think the plot that turned ..."

I completely agree. The triumverate, necromancer powers, her power of the lycanthropes, all that good stuff and more could be explained. And it would be more interesting and original then the ardeur. And even maybe explore, Wicked Truth. Those two interest me a lot but she never went anywhere with them...I was sad. :(

Now don't get me wrong I don't mind the sex, or I wouldn't like PNR, but I do think this is a series that needs less sex and more plot and storyline :D

Off to read more Skin Trade...now that I have the time :)

message 2250: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1593 comments Aren't Wicked Truth supposed to be in this one?

Hmn. Well, we'll see how it goes!
