Sue, I love the Queen Betsy series! I have read the 1st book and then half of the next. I temporarily lost the 2nd book and then found it about 4 books later. So I hope to be able to finish it soon though! I love Sinclair! I am really bad. I can't read series from start to finish right now. I read one book then move onto another series right now. I just have too many books to read and not enough attention span to read the next in the series right away :). So I probably won't get to the new one for quite some time. I do home that there are a ton more to come! Betsy is laugh out loud funny!

message 2102: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Currently reading Master Of Obsidian by Jamie Craig. I'm really enjoying it and will read the rest of the series. Gideon is a vampire private investigator in Chicago and Jesse is his human assistant. In book one their close friendship becomes sexual and Jesse is introduced to Gideon's darker side. The sex is really hot but the story is also compelling. Their investigation into a street drug that makes vamps lose their inhibitions and let their demon out to play is well balanced with the growing relationship between the two men.

Did you love Magic Strikes? I thought it was awesome - tied with Lover Avenged for my favorite release of the year.

Sue | 43 comments I just finished "Real Vampires Have Curves" by Gerry Bartlett and really enjoyed it. I bought the next in the series and should start it but have moved on to "I'm the Vampire, that's why" by Michelle Bardsley. I too have trouble reading a series book after book, guess I like variety. I will come back to it though.

You are my book twin :). I do the same thing. I can't stay with one series right now. I don't have the attention span lately. I think I just have too many books to read :). Not complaining about that for sure! I liked I'm the Vampire. It was a fun read and Sinclair is a hottie! Not much substance, but lots of fun with raunchyness and laugh out loud moments! Hope you like it!

That's funny I guess we all like these books or we wouldn't be here. My mom thought I was nuts to read this genre because she liked Mysteries and historical novels. My boyfriend introduced me to Anita Blake & Sookie Stackhouse and I haven't looked back since! lol I still like the occasional Mystery, in fact just finished reading 2 "Scarpetta" and "8th Confession" so I still give other books a chance too. I prefer the more modern paranormal books, what would you call those?? Urban Paranormal? I don't get into the historical ones at all, can't relate to them.

message 2108: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I just started Alyssa Day's Atlantis Rising and I'm loving it. I bought her books based on recommendations from others here on Goodreads and I won't be disappointed! It's turning into one of those books where I'll be ignoring everything and everyone until I'm done.

I do the same thing. Paranormal is deffinitely my favorite genre right now, but I love them all! Classics, mystery, romance, science fiction, literature! Love it all :)

I used to make fun of the paranormal stuff until I read it myself. You'll have to tell your mom "Don't knock it till ya try it!" :)

I LOVED this book and it's sequel. Haven't read the third one yet, but looking forward to it. Gets a little weird with the love interest part of the plot, but in the end it's all good. Cool supernatural stuff and decent plots. I had a hard time putting them down when I read them.

thanks...its one of those books you look at and hope its good cause it sounds good, but yeah sometimes not all books work out as good as ones that you assumed would be good. Im just trying to adapt myself to the demonic side as i havent really read anything that's out of the vampiric ways. LOL.

I enjoyed reading City of Bones. There were certaing things where I wanted to scream and fly thing like a five year old throwing a tantrum but nonetheless I think it was a good read. :)

I had a hard time with City Of Bones. I didn't like part of the ending. But I read City Of Ashes anyway and LOVED IT! I am torn between waiting for City of Glass to come out in paperback to buy it or borrowing my friends. I think I will end up borrowing it though. I recomend the series for sure!

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 443 comments About halfway thru Caressed By Ice - it's darker/more intense than the earlier ones, but considering what happened to Brenna in the last book, it had to be. Judd keeps having to repair 'cracks' in his Silence Protocol - poor baby!

I'm glad it wasn't a dissapointment. I've been deciding whether or not to pick it up. With City of Ashes it took me atleast a week. I just kept getting bored with the story,

message 2128: by Nichole (DirrtyH) (last edited May 16, 2009 09:08PM) (new)

Nichole (DirrtyH) (dirtyh) Finished off Bone Crossed yesterday and Red-Headed Stepchild this afternoon. I then started Claimed By Shadow and am about 20 pages in. I'm worried I read the first book too long ago (about six months?) and that I'm going to be horribly confused... I hope not.

I've reached a bad milestone: my to-read shelf here on Goodreads is now larger than my read shelf. (Dun dun dunnn...)
What makes this worse is that I never add more than the first book of a series. If I plan to start a new series, I only add the first book to my to-read shelf. And then once I've started a series and know that I want to read the rest, I still don't add the other books to my list. I just keep them in my head. So really, my TBR is actually much much bigger than it appears. Eek.

new_user | 1389 comments LOL! Same here, Nichole, same here. *shakes head* And I also only put the first book of the series. It's a sorry situation, but what can I say? There are a lot of books calling my name, LOL.

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Finished Lover Avenged ( which I'm kicking myself for since now I have a year long wait for the next) now reading I'm the Vampire That's Why

I got a email from borders.com saying its recs for romance books and it had on there a bunch of free ebooks. Has any one ever read them? Is it hard to read on the computer. I asking on here cause there was a lot of paranormal ebooks I would be interested in reading but I am just not sure about it.

message 2133: by Debbie (new)

Debbie | 11 comments I find it takes me a lot longer to read books on my laptop because my eyes get tired. If they are on my Kindle it's like reading a regular book for me.

If they are free I would just download one and give it a try. At least you're not losing out on any money.

message 2134: by Lauren (new)

Dina, I haven't written it yet, but it should be up soon. I've had computer problems and had to sneak some time in on hubby's computer, so it's been hit & miss - I think I need to write reviews on my last 3 reads, but I'll get there!
