Amanda The Book Slayer (amanda_the_book_slayer) | 111 comments That was a book I read and haven't added to my read shelf. Thanks. I thought it was okay. It kept me interested and I have been meaning to see what the next book was like.

t'irla ~The Bookslayer~ aka Barbara (tirla) I loved Riley Jensen and it does get better as you get further in the series you really see how she changes....

I'm wiht you Jenne..I read the first Hollows..and kinda gave up..didn't do it for me at all.

I remember the scene that was the deal breaker for me, I don't remember the specifics, so bear with me if the details are wrong. She was in some sort of facility exacting a rescue mission (or something like that) and she stops off in some side room and has sex. Really? I'm all for sex and suspending belief, but for some reason it just hit me as ridiculous.

Even so, I MAY try them again. My mood plays a lot into how books are perceived.

Amanda The Book Slayer (amanda_the_book_slayer) | 111 comments If it gets better I will have tO try the fourth book again. DOes she ever end up with the vamp?

t'irla ~The Bookslayer~ aka Barbara (tirla) *puts finger to her lips and nods*

t'irla ~The Bookslayer~ aka Barbara (tirla) *grin*...the last 3 books are actually my favorite..when I finished the series I kinda went yah I can see why Keri Arthur wrote it the way she did, it really showed how Riley grew up.

I reread the series again recently because I had read it a couple years ago when I was just getting back into reading PNR and thought that might have coloured my opinion...but I still really liked the series..but I see more what you mean about the gratuitous sex...

Renee Trull (tiggertrull) | 64 comments Just read a really great book by Amanda J. Greene. The second in the PNR series is due out the end of the month. If you want a really great 19th century, believable, romance this is the book for you. The hero is wonderful, dark and sexy. The Lady is awesome, sassy and brave. Take a look at Caressed by Moonlight (Rulers of Darkness, #1) the second book is Caressed by Night (Rulers of Darkness, #2) and is due out any day now. Hope yo read it and enjoy it as much as I did. I am really excited about the second book.

Good series! Morgan was a very likeable character for me. Though I wish there was a bit more resolution to each book, maybe more romance.

I just ordered Broken by Megan Hart when I bought Dirty. I heard it was pretty good also. I have to have a break between such raw books. I will read some Sci-fi.

Pansy | 740 comments I am going to try Claimed (Brides of the Kindred, #1) by Evangeline Anderson . I heard good reviews. I am still listening to A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness . It is a long freakin' book. I am enjoying it but it is not a favorite. I just have to know how it ends.

I really liked this one. I love how she dropped some hints about where the Breedmates come from that I think opens up a whole new story line. I've heard that the next book is Mira's, several years in the future with her all grown up. Should be interesting.

I completely agree...I got the first 3 as a Christmas gift the year before last and I've kept reading them because everyone says they're so good, but the series has just been meh for me....

message 20645: by Sillylittlefishey (new)

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments I just finished Silent Night (includes In Death, #7.5) by J.D. Robb ...I got it to read Midnight in Death, but ended up reading all the stories. It was strange reading Christmas around valentine's day. The book was just meh to me and only one of the stories truly felt like a Christmas story...the others just seemed to be normal stories that happen to take place around Christmas.

Now I'm reading Darkness Becomes Her (Gods & Monsters #1) by Kelly Keaton because I have an ARC for the sequel.
