One of my goals is to catch up on this series this year...but all this blood balance crap is making it hard.....I miss a certain somebody and all this book has been so far is her missing him and this thing with ivy....total snooze...it has to pick up soon for my own sanity!!

Everyone talking about how good Pale Demon was is what has kept me going because the series has just been kind of meh to me.

J.R. Ward loves to write BDB Warriors as torn when falling in love with someone. They always have some o..."
Yeah Katya and Christine, I think JR was heading that way with V and Butch but she chickened out or her publishers wouldn't let her go that way. I think that V and Butch are the most emotionally bonded characters in the series and I kinda wish they were together sometimes. Controversial i know. It has been touted by some that Quinn, Blay and Layla have some sort of three way arrangement, again i don't think mainstream would go for that either. Anyway she ends it I think it is time for the whole thing with Q and Blay to be resolved.

You know, I think I'm one of the few people I know who really didn't care for this first book of the Guild Hunter series. I liked it, but I did not love it. I really didn't like Raphael at all, even though everyone else was panting over him. He was just too cool, too cruel, even though I get why he had to be that way it did not appeal to me at all. I've actually found the series more enjoyable as it has gone on and absolutely loved books 3 and 4 in the series. I think in the second book, you start to see a more humane side of Raphael that I enjoy more. Plus, her writing style in 3 and 4 is one I really like, but I know others don't.

I've still got to catch up with Pale Demon before A Perfect Blood comes out later this month. The end of the previous book left me with hope that Rachel was finally going to turn things around and I've heard good things about Pale Demon, so here's hoping!

I never got past the first book of this series for the reasons you describe, but everyone who's read it swears to me that Faythe really matures through the series. I keep debating going back and trying the second book because I do like a series where you can see the characters grow and change.

I had a hard time reading this series I hated all the bad things that happened and that the good guys couldn't catch a break! She does get better but like any charater she still has flaws and makes mistakes. I was not dissapointed when it was all said and done but it took me a while to finish the siries.

Really, I loved this series. Raphael was too powerful for his own goods, but you'll like him once Elena have him wrap around her little pinky, plus...Raphael's Seven are sooo worth it, Bluebell, nuff said...

I heard great things about this series and I liked R.Vincent in her other book. It's hard to get thru the first book but base on many rec's, it'll worth the time digested.

It's getting worse. I am getting really mad at this book. Really mad. I am about 3/4 finished and I am just hoping it redeems itself at the end.

I finished the book Lisa. There were good parts and bad and I'm kind of on the fence with this one. Here is my review if you want to read it. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Story: This hot Werewolf is forced to mark this woman to save her from being passed around these four guys....and then has to spend three weeks while everyone is in heat having sex with her all day long. Basically, once marked they can only "releave themselves" with the marked person or mate.
I actually have the second book in this series and intend to read it as I do like this author. But this book was just one sex scene after another with some arguing thrown in. It was alright...not going to be a re-read-that is for sure!

Ugh i hate books like that, i know some ppl like book porn but im more interested in the plot, i dont want the whole book to be about sex.
i was thinking about starting Angels' Blood, why did you break away from it??

Maybe it was just that book....I really like this author otherwise. I have read Stealing Coal and Flint & something Ice...it has been a while. And I have also read the Zorn Warrior books-all good.....Also, the New Species series by LD is FANTASTIC! Have you read them?

i found this series really irritating as well, i couldnt stand Faythe but i just read

Uh oh! I heard this was a pretty good book too. That's disheartening. :(

Almost done with
, then on to
. I'm almost afraid to start Fifty because I just KNOW I'll become obsessed with them (from what everyone says).

I just recently read this one myself and loved it! In the beginning of the story I really enjoyed reading about Oxford and the library. You just really got a sense of atmosphere and being there. and I loved all the research and genius that went into the background of the story. Yes, there is a lot of science and can get bogged down in it; but there is a payoff and reason for it later in the book. The action does pick up and alot end up going on after the initial setup. I hope you stick with it because it really was a pleasure to read. Just my 2 cents :)

Unfortunately this book was a DNF 1 star read for me. I also heard good things and tried twice but I was sooo bored. I really didn't understand what people like so much about it.

It does get better ! It really is a good book and the last half is worth wading through all the intellectual stuff in the first part. I actually skimmed over some of it kind like when a author goes off describing the wind through the leaves in the trees for 3 pages lol
The second half of the book is pretty high paced and will leave you waiting expectantly for the second instalment

Its also interesting to note the author of this novel has multiple degrees in sciences and history

Oh no...not one of those! LOL I just finished
and I was ready to inflict bodily harm on someone if I had to read one more insanely-detailed chapter about...nothing at all. LOL

DNF? (Am I being acronym dense here?) ;) What everyone is staying here surprises me. I've only heard good things until now. This is getting bumped to the bottom of my TBR list...or maybe off it all together.

LOL Don't worry about that - I'm sure I'll end up giving it a shot sooner or later. (It just might be later.) ;)

I don't know, as much as I didn't like so many people love it. You never know you could be on the love it side. Many of my friends who have similar taste in books loved it.

Sorry my friend, haven't gotten to it but I'm on the waiting list for it. I heard great things about it though. I think it's hard as the author trying to establish her foundation. If you do audiobook and found yourself drifting off, have the book along with the audio, it helps you getting through the "non-interesting" portion of it.

Next read will be fun & hot...that suspense kept me on edge, time to switch genre,

Matthew is a very hot character and very interesting to read about. Keep going and skim to those parts.

Good advice. I will try it. I was so surprised it was available for check in audio so soon at the library.

It is easy to loose yourself with the Lords.

I am still trying to read it. I think it just seems so "usual" in it's plot and dialog. It is not fresh. It is top notch writing and it has all the spit and polish that a book by one of the greats has.
But I feel as though it is a copy cat book using angels and a vamp hunter. They do not stand out to me and after I finish this I won't remember them. I mean, who can forget Cat & Bones? Are they not unique and even their story has twists and turns you don't just expect or reactions to things which are unique and different. I always expect to be surprised and wonder how the characters will react to something....in this case-blah....nothing.
I don't particularly believe she is attracted to him despite the author telling me she is. I don't connect with her or the hero for that matter. I like one of the secondary characters-Dimitry...he is about the best part of this book. But the main characters? ~nothing~
To be fair, I do not particularly like books about demons or angels. They kinda get in the way of how I perceive them because of my religious beliefs but that would not stop me from reading it with an open mind and liking it if well done. I loved Franks Nightwalker series and Showalter's LOU series-had no problem with them....Hated Demonica....go figure.
I have never read anything about angels before. But the angel part of this book is good how she describes them and the way they look at the world...it is just the personalities in this book that just doesn't quite do it for me.
I'll keep reading...it is a challenge this month for me that requires me to read it! And I'll let ya know.

Angels Blood was my first Nalini Singh book and I loved it. Although, I couldn't get through the second at all, I was bored.

And I'm the complete opposite. Book 1 was just okay for me, and I liked book 2 a little bit more because of the glimpses we got of Raphael's Seven, but I just loved books 3 and 4.

And I LOVED the entire series. heehee. In my top 3 of PNR series.

I think I'm going to go back and try two again in the next few months. I was busy when I read it so I think my mind was wandering too much.
