Amanda Carney I'm reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by J.K. Rowling for the first time and really like it so far! Not sure why I just now got around to checking it out. :)

message 19253: by Sheree (new)

Sheree I finish Connected last night & I loved it but now I am sad :( I picked up Shadow Heir last night which I had pre ordered on book depository (in paperback) months ago when I first started buying from there but I got the first chapter down & went to sleep. I think I'm over this series as I miss & want back my hot vampire guy's. This is no longer my favourite series & I'm Night Huntress all the way baby. I need to finish it though but it's so not fair, I want to read BDB more then ever now lol. I decided to challenge myself to read 50 books this year as my friend I got to join up on here put her's at 200, I was shocked lol I could NEVER read that many books in one yr but I am sure most of you here could

message 19254: by Delaney (new)

Delaney Reimers (delaneyakafrog) | 347 comments Finished A Modern Witch (A Modern Witch #1) by Debora Geary last night. Even though you read from a lot of different character's views it was a great book! Not necessarily a romance but lovely all the same. I found myself wishing I could be friends with the characters. I can't wait to read the next one.

Really wanting to start Blood Warrior (The Alexa Montgomery Saga #1) by H.D. Gordon but think I need to give my eyes a day or 2 off the kindle so going to start Gift of the Goddess (Phoenix Rising, #1) by Denise Rossetti first.

I challenged myself to 80 books last year and only managed 75. I have put my self at 80 again and WILL make it this time. ;) Good Luck with your challenge. I love Night Huntress and BDB books too.

Christine | 1127 comments I started Second Grave on the Left (Charley Davidson, #2) by Darynda Jones and got all of about 20 pages in before I realized I had to start a buddy read of Adam (Nightwalkers, #6) by Jacquelyn Frank . I'm 90 pages into it, and not sure how I feel about the set up for the story. I have a little trouble buying that the Nightwalkers just fell apart after the tragic events at the beginning of the book.

Magda | 558 comments Nix is awesome.

Here's one of her quotes: (Valkyries are transfixed by sparkly jewels)

“Have you ever fought an opponent you had no defense against? Like a fire breather or an acid spitter?"

"Once I faced a female with diamond skin," Nix said breathlessly. "I was transfixed - even as she was choking the life out of me."

"Really?"

"No, I saw that character on X-Men. I just wanted to commiserate. Alas, I have no weaknesses.”

Read IAD, you won't regret it.

Aw man...just want to return all my books for IAD series. I've heard so much about it and still have not started on it yet. And watch, I'll be over the moon and kicking my butt why it's taking me so long to start, sigh...And volunteering at the library is not helping, I'm coming home with at least one new book everytime. message 19285: by Amber (new)

Amber (berr) | 22 comments I just finished the Living in Eden trilogy ( The Demon in Me (Living in Eden, #1) by Michelle Rowen Something Wicked (Living in Eden, #2) by Michelle Rowen That Old Black Magic by Michelle Rowen )

I really enjoyed it. It had a good mix of romance didn't focus just on how awesome having sex with one another was. The book had alot of really good, not-too-annoying conflicts and it was fun watching them get resolved.

I was a little anxious to try another demon possession romance series because The Devil Inside (Morgan Kingsley, #1) by Jenna Black and the next following books didn't really do it for me. I found the main character to be annoying. Eden has her moments, as mst heroines do these days, but was usually smart and funny. She didn't make me want to rip the book apart and set it on fire.

I'm in that club too P.A. and I so desperately wanted to love it. It had such a great premise and I loved the historical aspects of the story....and here comes the but....if you are going to get that detailed and involved in the story at least throw in some hot sex SOMEWHERE to offset it. I was so frustrated with the lack of consumation(I won't say heat because I thought the 2 main characters had good chemistry but it never went anywhere) IMO.
