I'm thinking it might be The League series by Sherrilyn Kenyon but that has four books. Born of Night (The League, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Born of Fire (The League, #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Born of Ice (The League, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Born of Shadows (The League, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

message 18903: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP | 379 comments @ Jenne: I just finished Shaedes of Gray by Amanda Bonilla. I didn't like it. The heroes were really interesting and they were fun to read about. The heroes had lots of witty dialogue and were very protective.

The problem is the heroine is pretty dumb. She is supposed to be this deadly assassin, and she goes to meet a client she thinks knows what kind of creature she is (and set her up) and does not even bring a weapon. And decides to wear a pencil skirt that she can't fight in. Then later on in the book, she meets the enemy and says why do you hate my kind so much? (we ALREADY know why. The author gave us a bunch of clues, the heroine can't put the pieces together)

I am going to get the second book (coming July 2012) from the library, because I think this series has potential. And I loved one of the heroes, Tyler and want to read more about him. I am also hoping the heroine starts figuring things out and getting wiser.

I really want to read the Fever series like NOW, but have been told to read the Highlander series first lol I have a long way to go before I finally get there :( Times like these I wish I was a speed reader

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 538 comments I haven't read Highlander yet

message 18910: by Sheree (new)

Sheree P.A & a few others said to read it before fever & then yesterday I saw a post from someone saying how they'd finished the fever series & were now reading Highlander but regretted not reading Highlander first lol I have sooooo much reading to do. I might get to fifty shades roughly by 2013 ;)

Sheree, I didn't know that the Highlander Series had a connection to Fever until into the Fever Series. I had read a few of the Highlander books but only realized later that they did give background....but not necessary to enjoying the Fever Series. Either way you are good.

Katya | 645 comments Just finished Man Law (Private Protectors, #1) by Adrienne Giordano book 1 in the series. Which is strange because Book 3 actually happens before Book one does....why are they deliberately confusing me?

It was pretty good....every chapter starts with a Man Law...ya know....Never get emotionally involved....but the last chapter starts with this law: Never let a good woman get away. Awwwwwweee. I enjoyed this book.

Just picked up Intern With The Vampire (Vampire General #1) by Kit Iwasaki for 99 cents on Smashwords, Amazon & B&N.....& look what comes out soon: Slash and Burn (Vampire General #2) by Kit Iwasaki Looks good!

I absolutely love the Fever series (Its my all time favourite) but still haven't got around to the Highlander books by KMM. It's a New Years Resolution so to answer your question, I don't think you have to have read the earlier series for it not to be awesome.

Moved straight onto Branded by Fire (Psy-Changeling, #6) by Nalini Singh and finished that too. Awesome, my favorite of the series yet and I got a couple of Hawke scenes too.. Oh Hawke *sigh*....
