You will not be able to put the book down. There are two books in the series that I did not like at all. They are toward the end. I was going to skip them because I hated them so much, but everyone told me to read them because there is info that I will need. I sort of skimmed them but I am glad I read them. The action gets pretty intense the futher in the series you go.

I'm curious which ones you hated. Was it Dev and Max's books? Those seem to be the least favorite among my friends.
But all in all, I love this series.

Natasha McNeely (nrfarrell) | 14 comments I'm actually right in between books. I finished On Dark Paths by Andrew Kincaid about two hour ago. It's a great book; a collection of thirteen short stories in the horror genre.

However, next on my list, and soon-to-be-read is Magic Gifts by Ilona Andrews. I can't wait to get into that book!

I just finished this one! Hard to keep all these names straight! Jaden, Jared, Zeth, Zarek. HAHA I usually read fast but with these books, I have to slow down. :)

Now on to

Yes. I could barely get through them. GR friends talked me through it so I could get the info. I complained every day.

Heidi, I felt that way too when I read Bluemoon. I liked Evermore - reminded me a lot of Twilight, although not quite as good in my opinion but I was pretty disappointed in the second book and didn't bother to read the rest of the series after that.

Dev's book was probably my least favorite of the series. Even so, I almost cried near the end. Which is weird 'cause I knew it would have a happy ending, but still.

I read up to 200 pages in dark swan and just couldn't continue. I know the first books in each richelle mead series aren't that great but does this series progress by any chance? I loved her Succubus series and Vampire Acadmey but again the first books in both were not my favorite.

message 18868: by Lisa - (Aussie Girl) (new)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 407 comments I'd stick with it if you are a Richelle Mead fan. I also lOVE Succubus and Vampire Academy and I agree this is probably the weakest of her series. I wasn't hooked with this one till about half way through Book 2 and Book 3 has some awesome twists and turns. I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of Shadowheir in the post as I can't wait to see how it all resolves!

message 18870: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) I really enjoyed Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy & Dark Swan. I have read the first 2 of the Succubus series and just did not care for it at all. I haven't continued on with it & I'm not sure I will. The Dark Swan series' third installment was probably my least favorite. I have the newest one but haven't gotten to start it yet. I'm hoping it's good.

I thought Denise's (?) wedding scene at the beginning where Cat walks up on Bones......And scene at the end where the vamps as well as Bones & Ian are all gathered and Cat is asked to make a choice is AWESOME! To me this is the best book of the series...but I have yet to read the most recent.

I fall in the category of people who loved the first three books, but have been kind of disappointed in the last three, each for different reasons. I still think they're good compared to other stuff I've read, but just not quite the same as the first three. Although, I did think the sixth book was better than 4 and 5. And I really liked Tyler.

message 18879: by Sheree (new)

Sheree OMG Tyler was so funny, he was the main reason I loved this book, I was laughing out loud so much from him alone & his "thoughts" I hope they keep him around. I wgot a little bored with books 4 & 5 but I am weird, I need to read a series all the way through if the books have been out for a while, otherwise I'm shocking, I hate waiting for release dates & then still be made to wait. I am glad I explored gr's & found this group or I never would've been told about NH, I am reading some of the books that the ladies on here have released, once I finish that I am getting onto BDB, Highlander & the Fever series, I've read none of those

I like reading a series once there are several books out. I feel like I get into a series more after about three books. And, you've got to read the Psy/Changelings. I believe the author Nalini Singh is from New Zealand.

I have that on my tbr list I will get there eventually. I'm a super slow reader, which can suck seeing how many series there are & how many books in each series, lol I feel like I have enough material to last me until this time next yr but I am awaiting the postman's delivery of Shadow Heir from Richelle mead, that is her last one in that series

I just finshed Magic Gifts (Kate Daniels, #5.4) by Ilona Andrews too and when you get to the end it says something about Andrea's story and for a minute there I was thinking it would have been a snippet or 1st chapter. But we have to wait until summer to 2012. OMG!!!

About to starting reading Once Bitten (Haven #1) by Kalayna Price
