I decided I needed to see what happens with Elizabeth & Saloman.

Those new books look really interesting. I love mysteries. I think I'll check them out on B&N. The in-laws are coming by this afternoon for Christmas and the only thing I asked for was a B&N gift card so I may be doing a lot of book shopping later tonight and tomorrow.

Yeah she did, it came up in my email & said I had a gift & sent me to Amazon to "claim gift" I tried to clain it & it said the above but it also said I could exchange it for a gift card but I wanted that book, I was so peeved off at it.
I found an email from P.A. though with a copy of the book, it downloaded it the first time but said I couldn't open it as it was licensed to someone else & to delete it (can't work how to delete it yet) but I tried a second time & for some pure miracle it worked!!! It just says on the kindle that P.A. wrote it lol but I am so happy I got it on there now, but I am left wondering if it will be the same with the other instalments. If so I am going to have to buy them all in paperback. Yet when I was looking at books to put on my kindle before I even had it, Amazon let me put it on my wishlist & it says I am in Australia & it said nothing then about the first 3 books I put on there not being available in Australia. I wonder if I can email them & ask them what their problem is as they're losing money for not making it available. Merry Christmas to all American, Canadian & English friend's. It's late afternoon the day after Christmas in Australia, we call it Boxing day, do you guy's have a name for it too? Kaz told me the English call it Boxing day too :)

Unfortunately, I think the problem is with the publishers & the licensing rights to sell ebooks to other countries. I think the publishers of the ebooks you tried to dl do not have the legal right to sell them in Australia yet. The whole thing is a giant mess - I think you might be able to purchase a paperback or hardcover but not the the ebook version. o.O

Trying to find Magic Gifts (Kate Daniels, #5.4) by Ilona Andrews on Amazon and they dont have it. Any ideas on where to find it for the Kindle?

message 18776: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP | 379 comments Free today from Amazon. Sunfire is free today from Elloras Cave. It looks like members of a rock band can change form into firebirds. And one of them falls in love with the band manager's daughter. But the manager wants to kill her for power. I have not read this one yet. It is from Elloras Cave which means the books are usually on the steamier, explicit side.

Lunewulf Law by Elloras Cave is free today. It looks like a werewolf romance with a menage a trois scene. It is from Elloras Cave so it is probably on the steamier side. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003...

I got a reply today & you were right, it's the publishing license but really, personally I think they need to put all the books Australian's are allowed to buy in a different part so it doesn't happen again, it'll be too bad when I go to buy another one & not be allowed to get them either. How hard is it for them to pre warn people of what we are & are not allowed to have. I'm really pissed off now lol I wonder if I will be able to buy 50 shades now :(

message 18788: by Sheree (new)

Sheree I emailed them but wouldn't it make life easier if a. all books were available in every country or b. they make a list for Australian's of books that are available here that I (& other Australian's) could get instead of waiting until I go to buy it for me to find out it isn'a available here. It's just stupid lol & very frustrating. Maybe there is a list & I just haven't seen it

Yeah, I definitely agree. I think they should list only the books that are available, not books that cannot be purchased. It's unfair. I also think the publishers are shooting themselves in the foot because many people who want to buy/pay for these books have no choice but to resort to other methods in order to obtain them. The whole thing is a bit crazy.
