I just started Dark Lover by JR Ward. I know, I am SO behind the times on this one. lOL it was the first book I downloaded onto my new Kindle 2 that showed up yesterday! YAY. Seems pretty good so far.

Yes, I did. And in fact, I liked it better than Twilight. Or perhaps, I liked it so well because it really filled out Twilight. What about you, did you read it?
I finished Fantasy Lover by Kenyon. It waw okay. I can't say that I loved it, but I'll probably read on in the series at some point. I also read to short stories in ebook format, both by Jet Mykles, Tech Support and Snagged. Both were really good.
Rush of Wings is probably next up, although I find myself less than excited about it. Not sure why. I'll probably end up loving it.

Lori: FYI on Fantasy Lover. It's an intro to the Dark Hunters in that a lot of the characters for the DH series are introduced in it...yet it's nothing like the actual Dark Hunter books. And I do hope you like A Rush of Wings! Good luck!

Yeah, I read it too , and I completely agree with you, plus, even though I LOVE the series, Bella annoyed me just a little as a character, I thought it was fantabulous, and made me love Edward so much more
I just read A Rush of Wings and it was AWESOME!! I can't wait to read the next one if I can find it under 10 bucks..lol.( I am on a budget) I just started Night Pleasures of the Dark Hunter series.

That's exactly it for me... It made me adore Edward all the much more because we really get to see a glimpse of what's going on in his head!
I just wanted to wish all my friends a very happy Easter, filled with love, laughter, and all the most wonderful things life has to offer.
I have A Rush of Wings and In The Blood. I've bought so many books recently I can't keep the series' straight. I discovered that at Target, I can get the books for about $2.00 less than a bookstore. They don't always have the best selection, but they do carry some new releases. I think I will check them out first from now on.
I'm about 360 pages into Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon.Considering how much i love this character, the first part of this book is very hard to read at times. But, still beautifully written.

I sobbed. And Sobbed.
I'm glad i'm not the only one. I feel a little silly trying to explain how emotional i can get over what's happening to a fictional character...but, my heart has been ripped out several times for Ash is this book so far. *sigh*
Holly wrote: "I'm glad i'm not the only one. My daughter put off reading it for months and months because of how it got to me. The second part is less traumatic, but man oh man...I went through tissues like crazy! You're not alone!
I am about halfway through with Dark Lover. It is really good, but not as riveting as I had heard or anticipated this series to be. Can anybody who's read the whole series (or most of it) tell me if the stories get better and better as it goes along? Thanks!

I loved Dark Lover, but it's not nearly as intense, nor did I feel the connection to Wrath and Beth as strongly as I do to the other Brother's and their shellans. Like I said, I really liked Dark Lover, but I do believe the stories get better. The plot thickens, the bonds between the Brothers strengthens... there so much more to it all.
cool! Thanks UM. ;) I figured as much, but wanted to check. With the Anita Blake series I had to really force myself to make it past book 5 then it started to get better. LOL

LOL"You're welcome! I just started Pleasure Unbound and the first few pages had me wondering if I could keep reading. Too many characters introduced in too short a period of time for my slow brain...but I stuck it out and it's already better!
I felt the same way about Dark Lover. I feel like that was more like a stand alone story, with less of the interweaving story that you get with the other books. I felt like each book became my new favorite as I read them, with the exception of Phury's book, which maybe not a favorite. But, definately the books get better after Dark Lover.
I read Slave to sensation by Nalini Singh on recommendations, and I loved it! Completely hooked, going to start book 2 soon...

I'm telling you...i have never felt more emotionally exhausted by a book before.
As for Dark Lover...
I've only read the first 4 BDB books so far, but DL is actually my favorite. Something about Wrath just completely captivated me. But, i seem to be in the minority in feeling that way. Most everyone i know prefer the later books.
Oh I love Nalini Singh! I cannot wait til her next book comes out.
Tammy wrote: "Oh I love Nalini Singh! I cannot wait til her next book comes out."I haven't yet gotten to read her, but I am looking forward to it.

as for the BDB, I liked Wrath .....I just keep trying to picture a man that size and am having a hard time fathoming it!
I'm halfway through Minion and I'm really enjoying it. It reminds me a little of Buffy, but there's a lot going on in the story...I know its gotten some not-so-good reviews, but I originally bought it cause the 12th book in the series caught my eye in Barnes&Noble and I knew I couldn't just start reading a series in that sort of order... it's sort of an OCD thing Ive got going on regarding book series and reading orders
I was thinking the same thing Stav! That is a pretty big dude. But I have always held a secret flame for guys built like that...and vin deisel.! LOL
I really do need to get around to reading L A banks books.

*sigh* It's another one I need to sneak in my bedroom and watch.
I started on the LA Banks books last year. But dropped them. They just didn't capture my attention and I found them a little difficult to read. But again that could be the first few books of the series scenario. Maybe they get better with age. :)
what?! whoever has not seen 300 needs to get a copy and see it ASAP....I mean that with all good intentions...lol
I agree with the whoo hoo-ing on Vin Deisel. And yum yum yum for The Rock. Ah, Duane. Uh, Stav...I haven't seen 300 yet. And I consider you a horrible friend for not explaining to me that it was a hot man buffet.
See if I christos anesti you next week. Ha! I abjure thee, wench!
And I'm not recommending any more books to you either. Shoulda' kept Valerius all to myself...
(For those who think I'm a raving loon, I feel driven to point out that Stav suffers through my friendship offline as well as on goodreads...she's being seriously considered for sainthood as a result.)

YOU STILL HAVEN'T SEEN IT?!
for shame..... had I known I would have insisted you see it....Gerard Butler is so hot, and in that movie...::wiping up drool just thinking about it::
I do think my sister bought it so it's got to be here somewhere... :)
maybe I'll tear myself away from BSG tonight to watch it.
I apologize to all you ladies for not posting about a book and getting a bit repetitive on this now but I think it's necessary to point out that if you're part of the PNR group on here, and are seriously all about the alpha-male, then you MUST see 300....consider that my public service announcement for the day!Books mentioned in this topic
