Good to know. I'll give it a try and pick up the next one and see what I think. I think that's the problem so far for me. Just not feeling Elena yet.

Okay so I wasn't that smitten with Drink Deep (Chicagoland Vampires, #5) by Chloe Neill in the beginning, especially since it wasn't giving me enough of what I wanted and I had no idea where the book was going. All I can say now that I've read the whole book: I enjoyed it :0) I mean, I can't say much without giving it away, but I recommend it if you're a fan of this series.

LOVED the first part of the book when they were on vacation. Couldn't stop laughing. It's been so long since I read that I might have to pick it up again.

message 16930: by Boo Boo Kitty (new)

Boo Boo Kitty I loved Tohr and really hated it when he left. So happy when he came back. JR Ward does a great job in the BDB series. I hope she has Beth go through her needing period soon. I would love to see Wrath have a child.

message 16934: by La La (new)

La La | 245 comments I'm currently reading Black Dust Mambo (Hoodoo, #1) by Adrian Phoenix . I love Adrian Phoenix's book but I hate the fact that she introduces too many characters.

Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward should be given another chance. JR Ward has a rocky start in the begining but the other book gets better.

message 16936: by Beverly (new)

Beverly (penguininflight) That would make sense, actually, since we found out his connection to her in Lover Mine. It would sort of make things come full circle. That could be very cool.

I have the other 2 as well. I was going to read Envy for a reading challenge but didn't make it. I must have readers ADD because I jump around from books all the time. I start a series then another one then another one. I'm hopeless

message 16938: by Beverly (new)

Beverly (penguininflight) I'd heard that, too, which is why I'm still reading Covet. I'm still not as enthralled as I was with BDB, but I downloaded all three of them on my Kobo, so I was hoping that it would get better.

message 16939: by La La (new)

La La | 245 comments I felt like the first book had too much going on and I really didn't know who the story was about. But once you finish you realize this book is the set up for everything that will follow and just an introduction to the major players.

I picked this up bc I was yearning for anything relating to BDB. I think the only from BDB was the location and the bar, ugh... It fell flat for me too but I stuck with it bc...it's JR Ward. Seriously, it can't be easy writing another parallel series along with BDB, to be different yet having the same intensity. The second and the third will pay off. It won't be a disappointment.

You're right. I don't usually like Angel stories either--the only exception is Nalini Singh Archangels

message 16942: by Anna's Herding Cats (new)

Anna's Herding Cats (herdingcats-burningsoup) Hmm. Guess I'm the odd one out. I really enjoyed Covet and Crave. Didn't have a hard time getting into the new characters/world she created. Didn't care for Envy though. Really didn't like the heroine in that last one.

Well, Marie-Terese crashes into Phury as she's leaving her Bible study group, but it doesn't mention him by name. You just know it's him because of the description of his hair and he attends the night time NA meetings...but it's just a tiny blip, no real brotherhood involvement.

I am so torn about Tohr falling in love again. I loved him with Wellsie so much and you feel his pain but I think it should be awhile before he falls in love again. Does anyone else think it is too soon? Can't Ward write a book on someone else and leave Tohr alone for awhile. It has only been a few years since she has gone into the Fade.
