I have read some of the Midnight Breed series and liked it enought but didn't fall in love. Karen Morning is on my TBR list. I'll look into Keri Arthur - Thanks!!

YAY! I have read this whole series, just picked this one up the other day. Cant wait to start it"

I heard Connor's book is really boring. I am to read that next in the series. Should I skip or read it? I hate that it has had some bad reviews. I have really enjoyed the series.

Amy - what about the Elder Races series. If you like Nalini Singh you will really like her first book. I have books 2 & 3 on my TBR list for October and can't wait.

Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 229 comments I have to throw a wrench on the Elder Races books. I love Nalini Singh, but Dragon Bound was only a 2 star book to me.

I'd suggest reading a bit of it on google books before buying it.

message 15858: by Magda (new)

Magda | 558 comments I'm the complete opposite from Shera, I loved Dragon Bound & Nalini books are just "meh" to me.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 229 comments That's funny. I guess it's like with any book, try it before you buy. (Or just take the leap.)

Michelle(Chelle) aka Nightshade - Cake Whisperer (michmag) See -and I liked both. Everybody has different tastes and what interests one person may not interest another.

I agree though if you can get a chance to get a preview of a book without buying it then that is the way to go. I know you can do that on the nook.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 229 comments I don't think the nook lets you view as many pages as the google books.

message 15862: by Magda (new)

Magda | 558 comments Finished Serpent's Kiss (Elder Races, #3) by Thea Harrison 3.5 stars

Now, back to
Ravenous (The Dark Forgotten, #1) by Sharon Ashwood Hunting Season (The Gathering #1) by Shelly Laurenston Vision in White (Bride Quartet, #1) by Nora Roberts

Michelle(Chelle) aka Nightshade - Cake Whisperer (michmag) Shera (Book Whispers) wrote: "I don't think the nook lets you view as many pages as the google books."

The nook previews are pretty sparse. Sometimes the author will give a decent excerpt on their website so I always check to see if there are any previews available there if I am looking into a new author.

Shannon Dermott (shannondermott) I big thanks to Tamara :), I am reading Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades, #2) by E.L. James . I know it's not PNR. But it's a darn good book.

I'm still working my way through If I Die (Soul Screamers, #5) by Rachel Vincent .

And Silence (Hush, Hush, #3) by Becca Fitzpatrick and A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin are up next.

It is not horribly boring, but it is no where near the best book in the series. Connor was a favorite of mine so I wanted him to have a killer book and he just did not get it. The book was ok, and some important things happen in it involving Roman and Shanna. I would not skip it.

Next, Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne ...hope not to switch up with other reads. And maybe a hot read for the gym Hunting Season (The Gathering #1) by Shelly Laurenston .

Of course, my anchor read and such a great-emotional-funny Promises in Death (In Death, #28) by J.D. Robb

I could barely trudge through Dragon Bound. It just did not do it for me. I even tried Storm's Heart. Umm...no. I did not make it past the fourth chapter before I had to put it away. Oh well, it's a crap shoot when finding new series to read.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 407 comments Hi Sheree, Like you I got frustrated that a alot of PNR are not released in Autralia. I just go online to the Book Depository, UK (www.bookdepository.co.uk) and buy them direct. There are no postage charges to Australia, and if you pre-order a lot of the hot new releases are only about between AUD $6.00 - $8.00.

Karen Marie Moning has such a way with her writing. You feel like the characters are a part of your life. Not too many authors suck you into the book like that.

I LOVE it when an author can do that, that's my kind of book. I already have the Fever series on my tbr list & was going to start it as soon as I get through the night huntress series, I start that tonight & am a little excited due to all your recommendations of the series, Highlander will have to wait until I finish these first two series, all I do is read but I am a really slow reader so it will take me a while. I love books I can't put down though

Shannon Dermott (shannondermott) I'm reading If I Die (Soul Screamers, #5) by Rachel Vincent . I don't think I'm going to like where the author is leading me, but it's still a good book.

I'm also reading Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades, #2) by E.L. James (thanks to Tamara :) )which has to be by far the best series I've read this year. It's not PNR, but the mystery that surrounds the leading male; he could possible be a vampire if the author wanted him to be.

Christine | 1127 comments I'm still working my way through Monster Hunter International Monster Hunter International (MHI, #1) by Larry Correia

The lead character is a pretty funny guy, so parts of it read quickly. But, as I'm not a gun aficionado and really know nothing about weapons, the paragraph long descriptions of everyone's weapon of choice really drag for me. But another reader might get a kick out of them.

Yes, read Highlander series first bc it'll reinterate and shed some significant of timeline on the Fae, the Queen & King AND the McKeltars. I read Fever first, loved KMM, while waiting for the last book, I decided to read Highlander...after that I loved Christian and was able to relate to his uncles, yummy uncles...

One word to get you read this series-ADAM BLACK, the MacKeltars...ok there're a couple words, but it just sound more dramatic. It's a great series, you won't regret it.
