Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 407 comments I just finished Envy (Fallen Angels Series #3) by J.R. Ward . Finally this series is gaining some momentum, I loved this book after being pretty ambivalent about the previous two. Even though the romance is good it is the continuing story arc about the fallen angels which is most interesting IMHO. It looks like after a slow start, this series is going to go off with a bang.

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) finished "The Summoning" by Kelley Armstrong last night, it was slightly tedious but by the end I wanted to go out and grab the next one to read. Now I'm reading Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews, I've heard the first book is slightly hard to get through but well worth it in the end.

Yes, I found the first and second book Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews were somewhat difficult to get through - but they absolutely are worth it!

I loved this series, I got most my family to read them even a brother-in-law or two. They thought she was a pretty tough chick.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 229 comments Finished Dead on the Delta (Annabelle Lee, #1) by Stacey Jay a bit ago, and is was quite wonderful!

Right now I'm reading Through Wolf's Eyes (Firekeeper Saga, #1) by Jane Lindskold and The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, #1) by Gena Showalter .

The Darkest Night is my first "official" ebook read. Bought a ereader a bit ago, and I"m quite shocked by how much I like it. (I won't abandon my paper copies though!)

Christine | 1127 comments I started Dead in the Family Dead in the Family (Sookie Stackhouse, #10) by Charlaine Harris , but I'm having a hard time getting into it. I don't know if the writing has declined since the series started, or I've just read so many other authors that I love that this just doesn't compare anymore. Or maybe it just wasn't the right choice to follow Hammered.....

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 538 comments I think the writing has declined (but not enough to keep me from reading) and that it was a bad choice to follow up Hammered...

It's hard to compare to that dog's wit! And even thou Atticus is not a vamp or fae, I definitely would not kick him out of my bed

Anika (teddybear1) | 318 comments No Humans Involved (Women of the Otherworld, #7) by Kelley Armstrong 27% into it and so far so good. This story is all about Jamie Vegas but Jermey's into too. I know how she wished to make him her man and goes all school girl all around him when ever he's near.

That's good to know. I love books with action and suspense. It sounds like a great plot. If it is a keeper I will buy on Kindle but maybe I will check out the first one at the library. It seems a lot of you really like the books.

OMG. I thought the fallen angels story line was so good. Jim, Adrian, Nigel and Ed. There are some other things we find out about but I do not want to spoil it for others. They have been having some great discussions of the book in the BDB group.

Anne | 1 comments I finished reading Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels, #3) by Ilona Andrews Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels, #4) by Ilona Andrews . I loveee this series! I'm taking my time reading Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, #5) by Ilona Andrews . I'm sad that the 6th book won't come out until 2013.

I also finished reading Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison and Storm's Heart (Elder Races, #2) by Thea Harrison . I liked them both, but felt that the first book had a faster pace. can't wait for the third book though!

now, I'm reading Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken . so far so good.

Thea Harrison and G.A. Aiken have been sitting on my TBR pile for a while. From things I've heard on GR, it looks like I need to move them further up in the stack.

As for Kate Daniels (which I love), at least we get Andrea's story next year. Surely Kate and Curran will at least make an appearance in her book. *crosses fingers*

Did you read the Andrea snippet Ilona released not too long ago? I need them to write faster!

I own most of the series, but can't bring myself to start it. *Don't thrown stones* but everytime I read about it before GR it just seemed cheesy. It's hard to get past a first impression.

You just got the part where the first book actually turns into a decent book. Up until Kate meets Curran it's more of a "what on earth am I reading" kind of book. But once she meets him, the sense of humor of the authors finally comes out. They just get better from there.

actually it doesn't seem that bad the beginning, it's just a ok so this happened, and these are the steps i'm going to take to find out how this happened.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 229 comments The first two books didn't really have a drive. It's probably because the authors don't let us get to know Kate.

Book 3 is where they actaully feel it's time we get to "see" her.

message 15187: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (lag28wa) | 46 comments Just finished Retribution (Dark-Hunter, #20) by Sherrilyn Kenyon which was kind of so-so. But it does have a bonus scene at the end, the birth of Ash and Soteria's baby. That may have made it worth reading the rest. It wasn't bad, just not stellar like I think a lot of SK's books are.

Was looking for something to kind of stir things up a bit. Had read the first few books of Immortals After Dark, but they are in time out because they were kind of not impressing me.

Sooooooo- I jumped off the Cat and Bones cliff. I have to meet this other couple that is compared to Mac and Barrons. Or rather the man that is compared to Barrons? Bring it on.

Hi Lindsay, it's sci-fi with alien races joining earth. AIR makes sure aliens' abilities are not abused. I found this series, fun, sexy, some bks more exciting than other, but all are hopelessly romantic.

Michelle(Chelle) aka Nightshade - Cake Whisperer (michmag) I just finished Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison . Excellent read. Highly Recommend.

I wasn't really impressed when I first started the series. I think I have high expectations of authors. A couple of the books are really good though, and I'm sure they wouldn't make sense without reading the whole series. Weather or not it is worth it is up to you. They are pretty easy to read and go quickly so it's not that much time wasted. I guess you have to decide if you have something better to read =) I'm not as much of a fan of them as everyone on here seems to be, and I have read them all now.

I'm almost done it again, and it's better than I remember. I think what bothers me though is the lack of detail sometimes about what Sookie is feeling. The story is told from her perspective but all of a sudden she breaks up with Bill and I dont really know what she's thinking or feeling- it just sort of happens abruptly. I wasn't even sure after if they were broken up, or why. She doesn't reason through it.

Yeah her character isn't really the in depth type. I guess that's why I always thought of her as flaky or a ditz.
