His book and Phurys book is what started my hostility towards the series and I will say no more to prevent spoilers.

Oh, the leaping. Why do they keep leaping in the woods? I didn't know lycanthropes were ballerinas.

It's a bad adaptation of the book...and really loose adaptation as well... the book was better, BUT, its really YA .... so you've been warned if you read it...

ok...read the book then...it was good... very different from the movie, though I loved that it was filmed in Bucharest...
if you like it, I recommend her other book too, The Silver Kiss... I had read it back in hs, and then re-read it like two years ago... it's one of my favorites

Holly, I loved ALL of the IAD books so you're not alone.

Nichole, I really enjoyed this series but there were definitely books that I like better than others. I would suggest that you read Dance with the Devil just to see if like that one better. After that, if you're still not convinced then throw in the towel. There's too many books out there that you'll love to waste time reading stuff you don't.

In the days when powerful witches used their magic to shield humanity from demons, their allies and guardians were a group of men gifted with preternatural abilities of their own–the witch guardians. But when a band of witches traded their humanity for demonic power, the ancient bond was broken, and the guardians became the hunters.
Darcy MacAlister knows nothing of demons or magic. But this beautiful young woman is about to discover the truth about her past . . . and her future. For she is a witch–not just any witch, but the key to breaking the curse that has plagued witches and the men who hunt them. For if a hunter kills an innocent witch by mistake, the price is no less than a piece of his soul.
Axel Locke, gorgeous leader of the Wing Slayer Hunters, has sworn never to shed the blood of the earth witches who have resisted the temptation of demonic power. But when his sister is cursed by a demon witch, he discovers that Darcy MacAlister may hold the cure–if she can master her newfound powers in time. When the chase begins and Axel and Darcy come face-to-face, this hunter must weigh his soul against his honor–and against his heart.
Looks like this is a series. There's a sneak peek for the next novel -- Soul Magic.

Nichole: Talon & Sunshine's relationship, apart from the scene when he's in her apartment for the first time, didn't do a thing for me. I only liked it fo..."
I am with you the book just did not do it for me. It was a good story, but I felt like saying "okay your soulmates, now what" I likes Zareks character. I am getting ready to start his story so I hope it does not leave me upset as sunshine and talon did

DarkHeart,
I was intrigued and how did I never hear of this when I was younger...I started reading The Awakening last night, and it's sort of slow...of course I'm only about a quarter through...my main problem at the moment is that I'm feeling a bit hurt about Twilight....I feel like Stephenie Meyer was not so original after all with her take on vampires...I'm going to keep reading this though and see it if gets any better.

I did not read the book but I watched the movie and felt dissapointed in it. I remember seeing the previews and thinking it looked good then when I watched it, it was just blah

Oh, the le..."
Brandy, I definitely agree...I don't understand why it didn't go straight to DVD...I didn't see it in the movie theater (thank God), but it's such a loose adaptation of the book... I was extremely dissapointed with it myself.

I picked up that book as well I am using it for my April challenge good to know you like it.

I just love Rhage! I'm re-reading his book right now and let me tell you I love him even more the 2nd time around!

OK I just watched it right now! Rhage, Zhadist, Phurry and Thor all look like the guys I had picture in my head. I imagined V looking like the main guy from the movie "300"... Do you know who I am talking about? Also Marky Mark as Butch is hilarious! Wrath... I don't think that guy looks like my Wrath! I still can't figure out who I'd compare him to

Can you link to this?

I admire the bodies of the men in the videos. *giggles and blushes*

Yep...that's what I meant by "enjoy". heh.
ooh that was lovely. I thought Phury and Butch were dead on. And Wentworth has always looked just perfect for Zsadist. Mmmm...what a super way to start the day....

I LOVE the Vampire Diaries. I hope you were able to enjoy the story, but I do however understand what you mean about your feelings towards Twilight now. I still think the scope of both stories are vastly different in the end.

Holly,
I struggled through the first one today, and at the end it got better...I'm on the 2nd book now. As I was reading it today though, it just kept thinking of how it was a sort of watered down version of Twilight, but written 10 years before... now I can see its going in a different direction, and I'm feeling a little, no, make that a lot relieved about it... Twilight did have a lot more character development, but I like Elena a bit more than Bella, who I only finally really loved as a character in Breaking Dawn.... besides...its got to be good if its getting turned into a tv series...right?

That was a great book I swear I like that series the more I read and I just love Al the only thing that made me sad was we don't see more Trent.

Ah now that's interesting. JR Ward has said she's imagined Wentworth Miller (the guy in the video) as Zsadist but I guess every reader has a different mental image of what he looks like. I do remember some other choices for Z in her forums, but none of them looked mean enough. I confess I've always imagined him kind of lean and scarred and Miller is a lot prettier than what was in my mind, but he does have a gleam in his eye that looks like it could turn nasty if provoked enough. ;)
Did someone suggest Gerard Butler for Wrath? He would be perfect.

I keep trying to read the first book and only ever get about 2 chapters in when I chuck it in an exasperated manner. I like Night World better, though I haven't read many of them yet.

Anyway, I am going to put off reading those until I read the BDB again, before Lover Avenged comes out.

yes it is!!!... I've googled it...and it looks promising!
(can you tell I'm excited)

I just finished that one the other day. the next book in the series is even better!Hunting the Demon

Is Vampire Diaries the one with the really pretty girl? And uhh....a raven? Was there a raven in there towards the beginning? I think I did try it, and gave up reasonably early. Dunno why, I usually love YA vampire (is it even vampire? I can't remember) books.
@Uniquely moi: Someone in another forum said that Jessica Andersen and J R Ward are critiquing partners. The premise of the book sounds pretty good right? Mayan warriors trying to deal with the upcoming apocalypse. I've got Nightkeepers coming in the mail any day now.

Yes, you're correct about the book being about the Mayan calendar. I've always been interested in that subject anyway, and it just so happens that my daughter is going to turn 21 on 21 Dec 2012 (the day, according to the Mayan's that the world is supposed to end). I am looking forward to reading it, but first I am going to reread BDB so I'm all prepped for Lover Avenged. :)

Heh that's cool. What a point of difference for your 21st-- the Mayan apocalypse may end the party. Here's hoping not!
