I know there must be a reason why writers do this, go under different names, I have no idea what it is though.? Cause if you really like a writer you tend to look for other books they have done as well.

Perhaps to differentiate between genres.

Jessica - I'm in the same boat as you. Everywhere I go it's Roarke this, Roarke that! I haven't read this yet because there are like 400 books in the series, but even people who have read the whole thing still love it. It doesn't seem to lose its luster like other similarly long series (Anita Blake)

I have given up on that series after Passion (Fallen, #3) by Lauren Kate . I thought it got a bit boring on the last one. I was ready to give up after Torment (Fallen, #2) by Lauren Kate but gave it one more try.

I really like this series. It reminds me a bit of Chicagoland Vampires in the main character. Rachel reminds me a bit of Merit.

Alisa (alisakayco) | 110 comments I just finished reading a plethora of books. I've completed my goal of 300 books read for year 2011! I'm on book 302 right now.

I'm 50% done with Savor Me Slowly (Alien Huntress, #3) by Gena Showalter , but I was going to switch to The Lady of the Storm (The Elven Lords, #2) by Kathryne Kennedy first & finish that. But then all the talk on this thread about Enemy Lover (L.O.S.T #1) by Karin Harlow has got me in a tizzy so I guess I'll read that first lol. I've been wanting to read it anyways... been on my kindle unread for 2 whole days.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Finished Passion by Lisa Valdez Either you love it or hate it, there's no middle ground for this one, seriously hot. I loved it. Curiousity for what started out as fun & sex lead to discovery of love, betrayal and sacrifice. Read at your own risk, but I'm sure glad I read it. Thanks Lala.

Next, Passion's sister, Patience by Lisa Valdez . Let's see how distracting Patience is at gym.

Of course, audiobook of my Roarke, Creation in Death (In Death, #25) by J.D. Robb

I like it so far but I am only 25 pages in. I have a feeling I will enjoy learning about the heroine's back story. She seems complicated. Also, what made her get into her pill habit and involved with Bump and Terrible. I will let you know!

message 14484: by La La (new)

La La | 245 comments @ Crazy - I didn't like Patience as much as Passion. It lacked something. But Primrose sounds promising. Lisa Valdez has an excerpt on her website, but no launch date.

@ Lan-Dinh - I couldn't figure out the words to describe Merit and you nailed it on the head. I couldn't really enjoy Chicagoland, the first book, because she came across as very young to me and I just couldn't her attitude and her age, 27, just didn't fit for me. I kept wanting her to be more mature. I do plan on continuing because people say it gets better.

Yes - definitely keep reading. It gets better, Merit gets better. You may have heard about Hard Bitten's WTF ending. You may want to wait until closer to Drink Deep's 11.1.2011 release date to get further along in the series.

I personally love Deeper by Megan Hart . She's just a really great author & I'm sure any book would be great. I've only read 2 of hers so far.

All this talk about Roarke, I need to get back into the In Death series. I think I'm on book 3? I just dropped it for other newly released books and haven't gotten back into them. Maybe I should try the audio instead...

After the action of Vampire Academy, its a bit slower, but first books in a series always take a while to set the stage. I am liking it so far.
