Wait, Sookie is ending? I didn't know that. I have a theory since I read the last book. (view spoiler)

message 14304: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (aurorapixi) | 187 comments I finished Vampire Academy and moved on to Frostbite. So far so good. I'm not raving about them yet. They are YA which I haven't read in awhile so it took a bit of a gear shift. I really like Christian and Dimitri. The first book was a bit predictable, but not in a way that made it boring for me by any means.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 407 comments Hey Vanessa, I agree with your secret spoiler. Either that scenario or Sookie is the strong, independent woman who doesn't need a man to define her so isn't with any of them.

L-D (lannie95) | 284 comments Lisa wrote: "Hey Vanessa, I agree with your secret spoiler. Either that scenario or Sookie is the strong, independent woman who doesn't need a man to define her so isn't with any of them."

No woman NEEDS a man, but just because you're strong and independent doesn't mean you don't want to love and be loved. So I hope she gets somebody. I'm okay with the secret spoiler. Although I don't know why it's a spoiler since it's just your opinion, Vanessa! Well - unless you spoke to Ms. Harris or something ;)

message 14310: by Pansy (new)

Pansy | 740 comments The Death series is so long but it is so worth it. I am on book 3 and I love it. Roarke is breath-taking. Everytime Roarke and Eve have a scene, you will melt. Try the audio version. You will be totally drawn into the story.

message 14311: by Kathyjacks (new)

Kathyjacks I started and finished Afterlight (Dark Ink Chronicles #1) by Elle Jasper and am starting the second book in the Dark Ink Chronicles called Everdark (Dark Ink Chronicles #2) by Elle Jasper later tonight. So far really good series.

Just finished Born in Death (In Death, #23) by J.D. Robb and soooooo soooooo good and funny too. Definitely definitely need the audiobook. I sweared there were 10 people talking and screaming hysterically...That being said, enjoy all of your books until we get to the last one.

message 14314: by La La (new)

La La | 245 comments I just finished book 4 in the Night Huntress series and it solidified why vampires are not my favorite supernatural beast, but of course I love this series. I'm now reading First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) by Jeaniene Frost . I don't know how I feel about Denise, but the book is pretty ok so far. My at work book is Fangs For The Memories (Young Brothers, #1) by Kathy Love . Very cute easy to read book. I never knew Kathy Love was so steamy. I avoided this book because of the cheesy cover. Now I won't judge.

message 14316: by Audrey (new)

message 14317: by La La (new)

La La | 245 comments @ Crazy - This is my 1st Kathy Love book but I will definitely read more by her.

@ Audrey - I really enjoyed American Vampire. I thought the hero was hilarious. A very different take on vamps. It made me want to explore her other books.

Read Night Huntress with my sis and SIL. They both skipped the Spade and Mencheres books and then ended up not liking book #5 so much. I tried to warn them! The Night Huntress World books made me love Spade and Mencheres. I know exactly what you mean about not being sure if I liked Denise or not. But overall, I love the men and the women tend to annoy me. Even some of Cat's decisions make me angry with her.

message 14322: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I finished A Bite to Remember (Argeneau, #5) by Lynsay Sands last night it was great I love the Argeneau series they are so easy to read and so easy to get into, there hasn't been a book in this series that has disappointed me. I started reading before I crashed out last night or early this morning depending on how you see it. Intertwined (Intertwined, #1) by Gena Showalter I hope it's a good one, I really like Gena Showalters books.

The first one was pretty decent, by the time I got to the second though I was through with her whining and repeating over and over that shes such a badass, I'm about 90% through and I'm not sure if I can force myself to finish

lol, no. I just am careful not to allude to things because some people may not have read the entire series. Having just finished it myself, I mean.

message 14331: by Bemidji (new)

Bemidji (ehleighen) | 39 comments I'm about halfway through Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . While it's good, I don't like it as much as the first few. I loved Kyrian's story, it was so funny. I was hooked right away, so I'm sorta disappointed this isn't funny like that first one.

I'm also 3/4 of the way through Dead Girls Are Easy (Nicki Styx, #1) by Terri Garey . Not the typical PNR I read, but it's a quick read and fairly funny. My husband and I are reading that one together and we are both liking it.

Tracey (tld14) Hey La La - I read Fangs for the Memories quite a long time ago and really enjoyed it! I agree the covers don't really do it justice and I also agree pretty easy to read and pretty good story. I felt after reading a lot of the Kathy Love stories I only got bothered with the fact they seem a bit formulated but they are def. fun! Enjoy!

how is this series? It's the only Gena series I haven't read. Avoided it because it's YA. Also, I didn't read the YA spin-offs from the Alien Huntress series either. Anyone knows if those are worth the read?

message 14340: by Crazy4more (new)

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Finished About A Dragon (Dragon Kin, #2) by G.A. Aiken . What a fun-exciting-hot read! waiting for the next book...

Reading Enemy Lover (L.O.S.T #1) by Karin Harlow . Saw great reviews and rec's.

Audiobook, of course needing my Roarke fix, always, Innocent in Death (In Death, #24) by J.D. Robb and already this is new grounds in their relations. Maggie's Roarke lover, he had many...but this one, Eve saw a look that Roarke reserved only for her. Our hard-core cop is feeling the aches she never had before, sigh... I love these two!

La La | 245 comments I actually ditched First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) by Jeaniene Frost and decided to get my hands on a copy of the In Death series. I was able to get the first one and so far so good. I forgot how much I use to love Nora Roberts books when I was younger. I'll see how this goes and go from there. I'll get back to the Jeaniene Frost books later.

In Death series is blowing up all over these forums. All I hear is Roarke this, Roarke that! I'll have to try to incorporate some of those after I finish my monthly challenge reads!

Sharon Lipman (sharonlipmanauthor) | 56 comments Currently reading Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. I very rarely don't finish a book - I always live in hope of it getting better.... but I'm really not sure about this one.

The Amazon review said "An erotically charged, addictive thriller from the future queen of suspense."

Meh!

The characters have developed as the story's gone and now at 90% of the book I'm kinda rooting for Clay, but it'll be over soon so I don't think I'm going to be satisfied with the ending. The next in the series is about a completely different set of characters, which I think I'm going to be irritated about. I think I prefer to see a whole story develop around the main hero/ine as the series goes along.

Ah well.

I tried reading this book, and like yourself I like to try and finish a book, but I found the book just didn't pull me in the story. And as usual I brought 3 off the books in a deal, so they are still sitting on my self.
