Oh no, I didn't and couldn't finish Demon Angel in 2 days. It's still due tomorrow and I'd like to finish it though, I'll pay the late fees...I'm still not as engage on the characters as I'd like too.

Maybe you need a partner to read RETRIBUTION. I need a couple days to finish Demon Angel, then I'll join you. You have another read in the mean time?

Thanks Lisa, my first read from Ms. Brook was Iron Duke. It was hard to get into her complex world, but once in, I'm pulled and amazed by the intricate plots, characters, etc. From that admiration, I wanted to explore this new author, but I tell ya, it's not the easiest read to lose yourself into. I'm not giving her up though. Thanks again.

I had the same problem, I got the first 3 in the series, and the demon angel took me about a week to read because I kept putting it down, I did finish it in the end. The story was good but as you say there was just something about the book I could not get into. I still have not read the other two books yet.

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) Im reading Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine

message 14108: by Susinok (new)

Susinok Reading Firewalker by Allyson James, and will probably move directly into Shadow Walker after that. This series is really good, and has hot sex, for an urban fantasy.

Firewalker (Stormwalker, #2) by Allyson James Shadow Walker (Stormwalker, #3) by Allyson James

I am on the third file of my audible download of Ghost Story, the latest Harry Dresden. It is good, but very slow going. Unfortunately, Harry is a spirit and has limited capabilities of interacting with his surroundings. Which means a lot just takes place in his head. Lots of memories, we learn more about how he broke from Justin DeMourne, and how he feels about what he did to rescue his little girl.

But again, it's slow because of all that. I'm still working on it, however.

Ghost Story (The Dresden Files, #13) by Jim Butcher

Woah, Cassidy, the Fever series will absolutely grab you and not let go. At least you started it when it is all written and you don't have to wait for a book to come out!! Waiting for Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning was a killer!!!

I am reading Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken and I am enjoying it, but all is filler waiting for the next Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill Friday Night Bites (Chicagoland Vampires, #2) by Chloe Neill Twice Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #3) by Chloe Neill Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill to come out.
Will have the next in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series out in Sept. "Angel's Blade" is Dimitri's story. Nalilni Singh can't be beat, she establishes such believable worlds for her characters to live in. I can read her series again and again. Actually, I have : )

Thanks for the encouragement! I've learned that it sometimes takes me up to 100 pages to really get into a book. Especially when it's the first book in a new (for me) series.

I also stopped reading As Shadows Fade (Gardella Vampire Chronicles, #5) by Colleen Gleason , which is good, but I just needed to read At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost .
