Sylvie Currently reading And One Last Thing ... by Molly Harper It's the first totally non-supernatural book I've read in a while! But I love Molly Harper, she's so funny! I mean, check out the opening sentence: "If Singletree's only florist didn't deliver her posies half-drunk, I might still be married to that floor-licking, scum-sucking, receptionist-nailing hack-accountant, Mike Terwilliger." Seriously, is that an awesome opening line, or what??

Pansy | 740 comments I finished Cowgirl Up and Ride (Rough Riders, #3) by Lorelei James and it was so good. Cord was a little overwhelming. AmyJo was adorable. I am truly hooked on this series. I am reading Tied Up, Tied Down (Rough Riders, #4) by Lorelei James and The Vampire and the Virgin (Love at Stake, #8) by Kerrelyn Sparks .These are totally different types of books.

Laura Carson (laurarcarson) Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill I accidentally found out something major that happens in this book months ago, and I am anxious about reading it...But I am loving the series...

Leia Shaw (leiashaw) | 20 comments Anyone start Storm's Heart by Thea Harrison? Just came out today and I'm about 30% into it. I LOVED the first book. I'm a bit disappointed so far in the 2nd. Don't get me wrong...it's good and I'll def finish it. But the pace is weird, their relationship is inconsistent, and there's too much description of appearance and backstory. I find myself skimming parts. Anyone else with me?

I am just about to start it....:-) It is not uncommon for an author to not reach or top the achievements of a previous novel....well, we can hope for the best. Because Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison was so good!

message 14012: by Katya (new)

Katya | 645 comments My biggest problem is that Storm's Heart (Elder Races, #2) by Thea Harrison & Blood Hunt (Sentinel Wars, #5) by Shannon K. Butcher come out the same day....which to read?

Denise, be patient and it'll pay off IN BOOK 5...Seriously??? I was so bugged, yearned for the impossibility BUT at the same time, I was enthralled and wanted to get to the end.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Finished Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid, #4) by Richelle Mead AND Succubus Shadows (Georgina Kincaid, #5) by Richelle Mead . Crazy good but warning, you must be an emotional masochistic...and a real patient one at that. Seriously, I understand building up a storyline but 5 books into the series? ...patient masochist at best, nuff said! I found myself reading to 5 am bc it just bugged me sooooo much. You don't know how many times I had to drop the book and just had to walk away, then coming back, eagerly wanting to finish the read.

It is funny what different people like. This is one of my fav's. On the other hand, I gave up on Black Dagger and Psi-changeling series because they were too predictable after you read the first page of each book. I know most people love those. (I did like the first 5 or so BDB before I got bored, in my defense. LOL)

message 14022: by Pansy (new)

Pansy | 740 comments Ok. I finished Tied Up, Tied Down (Rough Riders, #4) by Lorelei James and it was great. Totally hooked on this series. I was going to read The Vampire and the Virgin (Love at Stake, #8) by Kerrelyn Sparks but 3 books came out today that I have been waiting for: Storm's Heart (Elder Races, #2) by Thea Harrison , Changing the Game (Play by Play, #2) by Jaci Burton ,and Retribution by Sherrilyn Kenyon . Since I am a long time Kenyon fan, it has to be Retribution first.

There's something about the series that is just plain painful to read. I thinking reading thru her POV, I'm living her pain, I guess. It's just so heartwrenching I felt like I was drowning bc I'm carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders too...until at the end of book 5 when she actually took control of her life and be the strength she innate within instead of choices that were forced upon her. Finally...but what about Roman, he's the man!...just not hers, sigh...

Make your own Stopped Reading shelf. You just go into your bookshelf and make it exclusive.

I'm finished Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison and I only thought it was okay. A lot of my friends rated it 5 stars, but I was disappointed by the book. I'm hoping as the series progresses, she develops the male characters more.

I'm reading Retribution (Dark-Hunter #20) by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Sundown!) Vision Impossible (Psychic Eye Mystery #9) by Victoria Laurie The Fiery Cross (Outlander, #5) by Diana Gabaldon .

Her mother is such a B*****! Is it worth it to stick it out and read the rest of the series?? Also finished reading Master of Shadows by Angela Knight loved it. About to start Storm's Heart by Thea Harrison.

message 14034: by Samantha (new)

Definitely continue with it! I HATE her mom AND it's very rare I truly HATE a character. She's so full of herself, I truly believe she hated her daughter...and that's what bugged me the most. Night Hunter is one of my loved series. Just saying.

I haven't read anything from A.Knight but she's on my list.

Can't wait to get my next read from Thea Harrison. Love my dragon fix. That's why I'm so enjoying Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken . I'm giggling and smiling all the time...so sexy and funny!

Oh Seth is her true north, her Kyriakos and her contract breaker! even though I half-hearted think Georgina&Roman and Seth&Maddie are not a bad combinations IF immortal and mortal issues are concern. I love Roman too, he loved her in his he-man way, he'd protect her and she'd find happiness with him...once Seth is out of the picture...

I'm sorry you're going thru the Outlander withdrawal, I did too. Joining the group discussion helped...just enjoy the afterglow! What I had to do was switch genre and it was IN DEATH series that saved me. I love love and still loving its audiobook. In fact, IN DEATH series helps me keep my reading AND life in balance. It prevents me from having that crazy glaze in my eyes when I'm engross in a book. My life saver, Roarke & Eve!

Like I mentioned, lots of patience. Seriously as I was finishing book 5, it was so good that I couldn't fathom the patience and pain I had to endure to get to this point, sigh...lots of patience and now I can't wait for the next and last book. That's what the Twilight series did to me the first time I read them. I was such an emotional wreck my boyfriend didn't know what the heck my problem was. It affected me even after I put the books down.
