I see what you mean, I haven't read any more of the first on just couldn't get into it.

I hope you enjoy Highlander Series Beth. I just worked my way through the series and the first one is sort of weak but it does get better with each turn of the page.
Finished

Finished the second book in the ACRO series:

Finished the first book of the Night Huntress series and the opening short in the Unbound Anthology for my mini-book club with my sisters:

Getting ready to read the next short in the Night Huntress series and One Foot in the Grave:

Currently reading the short in the Hot Nights Dark Desires Anthology by Sydney Croft from the ACRO series titled "Shadow Play"

I read the Fever Series this past March and devoured it in about five days! I find myself using random Mac and Barrons quotes and people look at me like where the hell did that come from? By far, probably my favorite series yet! Thanks for the response!

Not sure if I recommended it in this feed or another but a recent favorite of mine is Stacia Kane's Downside Ghost series. Definitely adults only - dark and gritty depiction of slum (downside) living. Chess is a Churchwitch and exorcises (or debunks) reported hauntings. She is a drug addict and this gets her into a lot of trouble as people use this against her. The relationships between the characters is written so beautifully. And by beautiful I mean realistic and raw, not butterflies and rainbows. :)

I also LOVE the Fever series - but honestly, I don't know anyone who has read it without raving about it!

Lol! I know what you mean. The fever series can do that to you. It is such a high and then when it is done your looking for your next fix. BDB and Night Huntress are the only other series that have done that to me.

Not sure..."
Love, Love, Love Downside Ghosts. Definitely not a rainbows and bunnies type of series. It's refreshing. :) Plus, I love Terrible...even though I had to translate everything he said.

Terrible is an AMAZINGLY depicted character in my opinion. I absolutely ADORE him. Not your stereotypical male lead but that makes me love him all the more.

Now I'm reading

Now I can't deside what to read next... to many books on my Kindle... arrgggg what to do?

Keep going. I've read all four and I'm looking forward to the next. As with many series the first gives you a lot of back ground info and then the rest take off from there. However if you aren't into post apocalyptic type stories then this one may not be for you. I really hope you do enjoy them as much as I did.

I just bought Dante Valentine as a bundle (Nook) for only 9.99!

@:Lan-Dinh - Awesome deal! I wish I had been so lucky...I paid that for each one a year ago. Japhrimel was worth it though. lol

you will like it working with the devil is good book. lillith saintcrow is a good writer. enjoy it.

steph the gena showalter and sherrilyn kenyon books are great reads.

Picking up tonight(the only one in the series not on e-book!)

This book is horrible so far but I am making myself finish it

Of the two, I enjoyed Enclave more.
I also read book two of the Night Huntress series - NOW we're talking!! I'll take me some Bones any day of the week!

I enjoyed this series. It was different which is good sometimes!

Morelli, ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!I like a guy who can commit to the long term relationship. Can you say Edward Cullen???? (I used to run a website......LOL)

Ooh - never heard of this one.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Succubus series. The book titles are embarrassing, LOL, but the romance and the building mystery as to who a certain guy really is and what was trade for something in the distant past is so interesting. And the "encounters" and "non-encounters" between Georgina and that certain guy are so well written that they are quite memorable, yet subtle, unlike something in the Black Dagger series, for instance.

That was just what I thought, should have quit after 3 good ones and their "happily ever after".

Yea the covers are not good lol but the series is so wonderful! I just haven't found a good romance lately. I want a good love and sex scenes like in Georgina Kincaid series but I don't want cheesey and fake sex scenes like I am finding in Dark Lover or the Anita Blake series where it became all about that with no good story. I tried The Immortals After Dark series and the Love At Stakes series and didn't like either of those. Trying Dark Lover and it is good so far but just not as good as Georgina Kincaid. I'm going to try Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series next.

Yes, give the series a chance. It starts off kind of oddly but it greatly improved as it went, I think. And she seems to have left clues as to what really happened long ago. You might like the Merry Gentry series by LK Hamilton. Lots of sex with lots of men as with later Anita Blake books, but they make sense to the story line.
Try also Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly. No vamps or anything but paranormal. Very different, romantic, well written and best of all COMPLETE! Love that.

Another good, little known series is Kat Richardson's Greywalker series with Harper Blaine.

Thanks I tried Harper Connelly since I love the Sookie Stackhouse books but ended up stopping in the middle of book 2. Didn't like them. Greywalkers sounds interesting so I added that to my to-read list.

I'm more of a Sookie Stackhouse girl, I guess. And when, in the second book, a dismembered baby is described, or the hand to be exact, that was when I decided the series probably wasn't for me. I was a wee bit horrified as I have two preschoolers, and I think one was a toddler when I read the second book in the series. Then I read that in one of the books, a child gets raped, and I closed the series for good. Okay, I did read a few of the hot love scenes in later books, but that's it! Hee hee! The writing was great, and Anita was an interesting character, I just like my urban fantasy a little bit less gritty.
