My daughter and I are seriously thinking of getting an eReader like NOOK. What's most user friendly and cost efficient?

I have a Kindle 3 WiFi and a Nook Color. I actually prefer the Amazon brand to the B&N brand. I prefer the Kindle's features, and Amazon has more Kindle books (though it doesn't have e-book lending, like the Nook does). If you're worried about cost, I would get the Kindle with ads.

I just put that book on my TBR. I cannot wait to read your review. About what to read first? You know I am going to say Shelly Laurenston. I am also a Kindle fan. I just bought my mom one for Mother's day for $114 and she loves it. By the way Deeper Than Midnight (Midnight Breed, #9) by Lara Adrian is fantastic so far. I only have 20% left and I cannot put it down.

message 13583: by La La (new)

La La | 245 comments I finally jumped in and started the Chicagoland Vampire series book 1 and I have to say, I'm not all that impressed. I feel like I'm reading a YA novel wrap in an Adult Paranormal coat. Everyone comes across as juvenile and unsure of themselves. For a 400 yr old vampire Ethan doesn't seem that commanding or compelling and Merit comes across as immature and annoyingly angsty. And seriously, head to toe leather. Yeah, I want authors to stop doing that. Plus I felt like a lot of the scenes were a little forced and rushed. Nothing seems to be taking a natural course. Oh yeah, and there is a mystery in the story that I don't really care whether or not it gets solved.

I'm almost done and will move on to book two crossing my fingers that it will get better.

Julie *-* (ladymamaj) | 98 comments I've been having a really hard time reading the Fever series. I got half way through Bloodfever and had to put it away. I just can't get by the fact that Moning seems to think that she must describe every little thing in multiple different ways and to the very last detail. I like a book that leave a little to the reader to imagine. I don't neet you to tell me absolutly everything about the clothes she is wearing or the bar she is in... I think I might have to take a long break from this series for now. Instead I am reading the Midnight Breed series... I am reading Kiss of Midnight, I'm only about 15% in but it's good already!! :)

I didn't like Fistful of Charms and it was the last book I read in this series. I was tired of Rachel and Ivy, especially how Rachel continually got herself in trouble. She never seemed to learn from her mistakes.

That's exactly the reason I quit reading The Hollows! I got so tired of Rachel taking such stupid chances all the time. OK, I get it, adrenaline junkie, but I hated that her lousy decisions always impacted on her friends.
