Magda | 558 comments Aimie, I do enjoy the series. I think it's a fresh take on PNR, the storylines are great & I love the characters. Just wish they were a bit sexier.

The most recent I heard is that Quinn/Blay will have a novella because of the sensitive subject matter, and some fans being upset about it, she didn't want those it would bother to miss out on the story line. I also hear there will be a Mary/Rhage and a Wrath/Beth novella

The bad English doesn't sound good to me either. I'm having a hard time with the Goon Squad, I don't even have a desire to pick it up, I'm trying really hard not to pick up the next Sookie book cause I know that I wont read the Goon Squad. I just feel like I'm being lectured about stealing and how piracy is bad and I haven't even finished chapter two yet!

Btw is your profile pic of you and Ian? If so I am waaaaay jealous!

Are these two series by Gordon and Ilona tied together the same way Highlander and Fever are by KMM? If so, are they husband and wife that they write about the same world in two different series? Is one better read before the other? Also what is the contest? It's on facebook? Is it over? haha sorry for all the questions! =)

This one is just a small bit about the Brown Siblings. I like the conflict in the background from the first book where the parents are having trouble accepting things.

I'm really kinda disapointed in the cover I saw for the new book. Compared to the amazing tat graphics on the other covers this one looked kinda lame. Never Enough (Brown Siblings, #4) by Lauren Dane but still cant wait to read it.

message 13423: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie (bonnied7463) | 1 comments Hi! I'm new in this group. I've not ever really written any reviews, but I love to read paranormals, and found this site. I'm interested in seeing what everyone is reading and looking for a new, really great book to read.
I just finished Savage Nature by Christine Feehan, it's one of her leopard people series books. I love her writing style, and although this did, somewhat remind me of her Carpathian books, I still enjoyed reading it. The 'hero' was really easy to 'fall in love' with. The sex scenes were wonderfully written without being 'dirty' so to speak? This is the first of her leopard books I've read, so I need to go find the others and get up to speed.
I also just finished a book by an author I never heard of, it's called "Kindred Spirits; Book One; An Unexpected Love" by Roger Delray. I wasn't sure about a male written romance, but I'm glad I went ahead and tried this. It's a vampire romance about a man who's wife (soul-mate) is murdered. After her death he turns to drinking and fighting and ends up getting turned to a vampire. He now spends every lifetime searching for her soul when it's re-born into a new body. Anyway, this story tells of the time he found her in the 1800's, it's a surprisingly great read! And not your typical vampire story. I always look for longer books since I love to read so much and this one has around 600 pages. From the looks of the author site, there's a 2nd one coming.

Lindsay (lag28wa) | 46 comments Alright, I finished Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning and started Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning , this better be worth it damnit!

I am totally on the Barrons band-wagon, now. I was from the beginning of Dreamfever. People tell me it's worth it to keep reading, so I will.

With all this talk of Bones and Barrons, I think Night Huntress is going on my list, what is the first book?

I can pick, btwn these two, Bones! He's funny, sexy, smart, passionate. Yes, Barrons has these characters too, but maybe the lovestory btwn Barrons and Mac drove me crazy. Whereas Bones just had everything lined up for him perfectly. Plus he had Cat who played her role perfectly too. That being said, no disrespect to Ms.Moning bc she's one of my favorite authors but Barrons and Mac did drive me crazy on and off.

Ashley (ashleylaura87) | 162 comments Ok, I'm gonna reverse the bandwagon here...I LOVE Barrons. I heard so many comparisons I thought I better start Night Huntress.

I'm almost 80% through Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost and I'm not gonna lie, I don't get it. Bones has NOTHING on Barrons at this point. For all the hype this series has, I'm not finding the draw. In fact, I've been reading book one for over a month and it's not very long and I'm usually a voracious reader.

Granted, I didn't LOVE Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning the first time around either. Am I alone in not getting the draw to NH? Or should I stick with it? I'm feeling pretty "meh" about it. Fever is so EPIC, and Halfway to the Grave's story seems so simple...I can't see it.

message 13441: by Magda (new)

Magda | 558 comments Ashley, stick with it.
Bones gets better with each book, much better.
Things with Cat/Bones heat up in book 2 & everything gets much better. Plus, you get the added bonus of Vlad.

I wasn't crazy over Darkfever, I gave it 3 stars, and thought Barrons sounded like an overbearing, manipulative, and old stalker. Obviously, I've changed my mind, but it didn't happen until book 3 or 4.

message 13442: by Laura (new)

Laura Carson (laurarcarson) Barrons is still my #1 but I do love me some Bones! There are 4 more books and 2 spin-off series to get to know him better ;). I think I liked him better in the later books, if I remember correctly.

message 13450: by Bemidji (new)

Bemidji (ehleighen) | 39 comments I usually love Katie MacAlister, but I started Men in Kilts by Katie MacAlister a couple weeks ago, and it's just not doing it for me. It did start out kinda cute, but I'm just wondering what the other 2/3 of the book could possibly be about, other than what's already going on, so I also started reading Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward . it's allright so far, not enthralling but I bought the first 5 in the series so I look forward to it getting good since it's so highly talked about. Today I'm going to start reading Invincible (Chronicles of Nick #2) by Sherrilyn Kenyon because it's due at the library in 7 days, but I didn't really care for the first one Infinity, so I'm not excited to start Invincible. I also started re-reading The Mortal Instruments Boxed Set City of Bones; City of Ashes; City of Glass (Mortal Instruments, #1-3) by Cassandra Clare - reading it to my husband actually. He's enjoying it so far. AND City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare just came in at the library - I'm not sure if I should wait until I finish reading the first 3 to my husband before I start, so I get a refresher, or just start reading it. I think I'll try and wait until it's close to being due, because I'm just in the middle of too many books. I'm also reading The Hungry Years Confessions of a Food Addict by William Leith because I bought it for 25 cents. I was hoping for better. He just rambles and complains about his crappy girlfriends, kinda boring actually.
