Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Nita, you have a great book on your hands. It's a nice start for a great series!

Texxie, sorry, didn't get your question until now. Thanks Magda for answering.

I still have so many authors to catch up. Looks like L.Hamilton, A.Singh for Psy-Chal have huge series to sink my teeth into.

Sillylittlefishey | 1025 comments Finished Voyager (Outlander, #3) by Diana Gabaldon ...going to take a break from the series though. Reading my next set of chapters of Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast for the book club and then Scorched (The Dark Forgotten, #2) by Sharon Ashwood

Pansy | 740 comments I just finished The Reluctant Vampire (Argeneau, #15) by Lynsay Sands . It was okay. If your interested read my review. I started Forbidden Nights with a Vampire (Love at Stake, #7) by Kerrelyn Sparks . I am enjoying this series. The PNR is light but the characters are so enjoyable.

Oh Lindsay, you are SO lucky to have all the books ready for you to read. We all had to suffer waiting for the last book to come out. You should pretend to wait a week or two between book 4&5. Enjoy.

message 13314: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 225 comments I finally read Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning ! It was really good, of course! I have a question about it though. Can all sidh-seers sense OOPs & large groups of faes or just certain ones? Because when Barrons was talking about sidh-seers he made it sound like all of them could sense large groups of the faes so they could warn people they were coming.

Now Im onto Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning !

message 13315: by Magda (last edited Jun 16, 2011 10:13AM) (new)

Magda | 558 comments Seers can see fae but can't sense OOPs, only Mac & her sister have that ability, to my knowledge.
Keep reading, ShadowFever is an amazing book.

I liked Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate a bit but did not care for Torment (Fallen, #2) by Lauren Kate but thought I would give passion a try. Torment (Fallen, #2) by Lauren Kate lived up to its name, but Passion by Lauren Kate is not.

I stayed up late reading faefever also and I had a very hard time going to sleep afterwards but I didn't have the next book so it couldn't be helped.

Aimie (aim4theneck) | 98 comments I have four books on the go.
Wisp by Kevin R. Maze which I am really enjoying.

Odd Thomas (Odd Thomas, #1) by Dean Koontz which I am not far into.

A Tiny Bit Marvellous by Dawn French this one i am struugling with, the characters seem to just be telling me mindless drivel with no point or plot. With it being written by Dawn French i had much higher hopes.

Jimmy and Gret DON'T Do Sex An Unconventional Love Story (50% True) by Gretel Killeen i picked this up thinking it looked really good but i must remember not to judge a book by its cover because Gret seems to be reminiscing about old times with Jimmy, which would be ok if it was in a particular order but she jumps from one thought to the next and back again totally losing me.

Queen of Shadow was a pleasant surprise for me too. It captivated my attention with action packed plot, juicy strong characters and endearing love story. I hated that it's over but can't wait for the next one, coming out in soon.

Jasmine (jazmaniandevil) | 3 comments Hey, I just started reading "Afterlife" by Claudia Gray. I wasn't too happy with the way "Hourglass" ended...so I'm giving the last book a try. Then again, I'm not the kind of person who quits reading a series that easily. I really like this series and I'm already liking what I've read so far in the fourth installment in the "Evernight" Series.

I'm going to read A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan for a group read too. I hope its good. I have tried 2 other group reads that where not my choice on a poll and I couldn't finish either of them. :(

What were the other two? So far I'm on page 6 or something and there are a lot of things I don't know what they are. Mostly they pertain to New York City, a place I've never been. I feel a lot of Googling coming on. I get annoyed when I can't picture the things and instead of describing the author uses things they think most people should know about (like locations in a city). Not saying that's what she did, I'm not far enough into it to complain yet, I just feel like I have this huge gap in my knowledgeable about things from the pages I have read so far ^_^

Hmm both Historicals, I generally like those. I was surprised that A Visit from the Goon Squad isn't a historical at all. It's in modern day New York. I was expecting the 70s from the cover but when I saw 'Google' and "without the twin towers" I was like 'huh?' lol.

I'm not sure what to think of it so far, only on chapter two but I knew I wouldn't like reading about the record company and all the stuff that goes on there, and I don't. It seems to have won so many awards too. I wont hold my breath. I guess I should just hurry up and finish it so I can move on to the next Sookie book =)

message 13348: by [deleted user] (new)

I have been waiting to start Moning's series until the books were all out (which is my understanding they are??) and I'm saving them up for my vacation in July - can't wait! Until then, I'm reading Chime by Franny Billingsley - I'd considered picking up Good Squad but it hasn't filtered to the top of the TBR yet.

message 13349: by Jodie (new)

Jodie Cooper (jodiebcooper) | 1 comments I just finished Bloodfever by Karen Moning. I loved it! I plan to start the 3rd book of the Fever series in the morning, it's 3:30 a.m. at the moment. LOL

I became interested in the Fever series when Barrons was up against Curran in the Alpha Wars (a Facebook contest by the Vampire Book Club.) Anyway, I was totally behind Curran, but everyone said Barrons was awesome ~ Now that I read book 1 & 2, I agree!

The books are fast paced and written in the first person. MacKayla (Mac) is a Sidhe-seer; she can see the fae, both light and dark. Lines are being drawn, but it's never completely clear who is really good, good being a very 'iffy' term. :)

message 13350: by Elena (new)

Elena (summerday) | 7 comments I'm currently reading Born at Midnight by C.C.Hunter; which seems kinda good so far, and Succubus on Top, by Richelle Mead. Although my favorite series is Vampire Academy which is also by Richelle Mead, this other one hasn't really hooked me up with the first book. I'm trying the second one hoping it'll get better.
