oh no Vanessa. i'm sorry to here that. i was hoping his character would be interesting. just read the part where Eric comes to Sookie's house just before Quinn arrived for their date. this anger between Eric and Quinn seems interesting. i also love how Eric says Sookie belongs to him. coming from him it doesn't sound bad to me =)

Well I am only one book past you and I don't really know anything more about Quinn than you do, but he always gave me the feeling like something wasn't right about him. So when you said that it really clicked with me because I haven't seen anyone else say that and I felt alone in that theory. For all I know in future books he could prove to be a really great guy, he just makes me uneasy. It seems like all the vampires think they own Sookie, it's kind of funny, but I would be really annoyed if I were her. Like she can't make her own choices if the Vamps want her to do things she doesn't want to do because they need her gifts...

Are you getting through the series pretty quickly? I've been reading other books in between so it has been taking me awhile. I think I am just going to focus on this series now though, they are nice quick reads for sure =)

message 13005: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Just finished Assassin's Heart (Order of the Sicari, #2) by Monica Burns by Monica Burns. This series is just outstanding. It is going to be difficult to wait until October for the next one.

message 13011: by Giddyup (new)

Giddyup | 27 comments Finished Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison . It's a great book. Dragos is the only dragon shifter in the world and he's very powerful and uber-alpha. When he was in NYC and he roared, the entire city felt his roar. Windows even shattered. Sigh. I love dragons.

I'm reading The Wolf (Sons of Destiny, #2) by Jean Johnson hoping it'll hold up after my erotic romance All Jacked Up (Rough Riders, #8) by Lorelei James which I can't wait for the next book.

Vanessa, i've been kinda reading them between other books as well. i'm telling myself i'm gonna read them through to be prepared for season 4 of TrueBlood =) i have bk7 and i'm flying through bk6 so i think i'll make it. i'm liking it pretty good. i do hope Harris gives more info on Quinn in later books. i'm expecting him to be hiding something. i thought there was supposed to be more info on Eric as well, but i guess i haven't gotten far enough. guessing we'll both see soon =)

Hey Robin, how's your Memorial weekend so far? hope everyone is having a blessed holiday, beautiful weather for bbq and finding time to read, sigh...life is sweet!

R you asking me about THE WOLF? I'm just starting it. I enjoyed THE SWORD and was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed it. I just finished the TAIREN SOUL series and was looking for more magical, fantasy romance read. It was sweet but not as awesome as TAIREN SOUL.

Later friens.

I don't know that I'll have the series finished before True Blood starts up again, I haven't seen the show at all. I figure I'll be done by fall though =)

There is more of Quinn in book 7 and you do learn more about him. I'm liking this book quite a lot.

I'm excited to watch it, I can see myself going through the first 3 seasons in a weekend, lol.

One other thing about Quinn. It always annoyed me that he calls Sookie 'babe' all of the time, especially when they first met and he didn't even really know her. I don't know why it bothers me so much. It doesn't so much now that they are established and know each other, I still find it annoying, but nothing like in those first few Quinnesque pages. What did you think of it?

message 13022: by Abby (new)

Abby | 353 comments I'm in the middle of This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost ...LOVED the reference to Twilight that was in it "Ask me if I sparkle and I'll kill you where you stand" EPIC!!! ... After that it's either Ruthless Game (GhostWalkers, #9) by Christine Feehan or Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7) by J.R. Ward ....Haven't decided which yet lol

Lindsay (lag28wa) | 46 comments I can't remember the last time I posted on this thread!

I finished The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning , The Immortal Highlander (Highlander, #6) by Karen Marie Moning , and Spell of the Highlander (Highlander, #7) by Karen Marie Moning

I tried to get Into the Dreaming (Highlander, #8) by Karen Marie Moning but it doesn't appear to be available in a digital copy for e-reader. And I couldn't find it in stock ANYWHERE online. The only places I found it were either new or used from people who owned it and were selling it via crazy price gouging! Used from $20 something and new from $100 something. Must have been limited printings or what?! I don't know anyone who has it and can lend it either.

Anyways, I grabbed Born of Shadows (The League, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon since it came out while I was lost with the Highlanders. I think after this I'll jump into the Fever series since I've gotten as far as I'm gonna get with the Highlanders. Anyone else know of any other historical-ish romance? I enjoyed the historical aspect of HL. I have Diana Gabaldon on my list.

PS- The Fever series will be my first foray into UF! I'm a bit intimidated, but I hear nothing but great things about it.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Lindsay, I couldn't get my hands on Into the Dreaming (Highlander, #8) by Karen Marie Moning either. If you're looking for historical romance, IMO, Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon is the top of the list. It's long but so worth it.

Lindsay...Into the Dreaming is a shorter novella and you can find it in the book Tapestry (Includes Dark-Hunter, #1.5; Were-Hunter, #0; Highlander, #8) by Lynn Kurland which has short stories by other authors as well as Monings. I didn't realize this either until someone told me. I haven't purchased it yet but it is on my Wishlist :)

Im reading Stargazer by claudia Grey. It's really good. You can actually feel the love, which is a very good thing in paranormal romance :)

Abby | 353 comments For those of you looking for Into the Dreaming (Highlander, #8) by Karen Marie Moning ...I have it on PDF or MOBI file and it's easily converted to ePub if you want me to send it ...A lot of my friends can't afford to buy right from the store when they come out so they find them on file and read them that way , or they like reading them first to see if they'll want to buy it...No sense wasting money on a book you're not gonna like right?

Vanessa, u definitely will watch the series like that. it's so addicting. i'm on pins and needles waiting for each episode to come on every week. i'm watching the encore of season 3.
u know, the whole "babe" thing doesn't really bother me. it's like Quinn is mysterious and suspicious and it should seem a bit forward, but i like the "babe". i like endearments like that. it's like he really likes Sookie or something. but then again i just read Bill's real reason for coming to Bon Temps in relation to Sookie, so i'm not so sure. all these guys have something under their sleeve. i want Eric to come up with an endearing word for Sookie =)

message 13048: by Abby (new)

Abby | 353 comments I just finished This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost I have to say she nailed it again.... There was a subtle Twilight reference in it and the way she ended it was awesome. I will say that I literally cried during Ch 31. It was REALLY heartbreaking. I'm looking forward to the next one but I think this one was the best so far

Just started reading Taken by Midnight (Midnight Breed, #8) by Lara Adrian

Night Watch was not what i expected it based on the Light and the Darkness but i liked it when i finished the book. Night watch was from the Light view point i wonder now if Day Watch will be from the Darkness point of view.

message 13050: by PepperP0t (new)

PepperP0t | 539 comments An ex actually gave me DayWatch years ago but I never read it. You, however are the 3rd person that has mentioned it to me lately. Maybe that means I need to 1) find it 2) buy Nightwatch and 3) move them both pretty high up on the TBR pile - there must be something there for me to know. I hope you write a review on it.
