Enjoy your journey. I remembered life stopped, sleepless nights and lots of 'mommy time' during my Outlander journey. It'll pick and pull you in no time.

I want to read the Outlander series... Gosh, the fact that it is eight hundred and something pages makes the booked crazed lunatic come out of me. lol. What would you rate it? Is it worth the read?

OMG, Jeanine, you'll need to block some time to read this EPIC. I was hugging the 800+ pages longingly. I know it's a great book when I held it and worried it's almost over...

For the most part I really liked that book...there was just one thing that happened I didn't like but it was no big deal to most people on here. I'm hoping to read the 2nd one soon.

Now...I'm getting ready to read Two for the Dough (Stephanie Plum, #2) by Janet Evanovich

Sammie, I would say HR with a hint of paranormal bc Claire went time traveled 200 yrs back. There's just so much about the book, every word is accountable and a piece of this amazing puzzle to be solved, to be explored and at the same time, to be disected.

I bought all five based on the recommendations on this thread. I actually love the covers. I haven't read them yet though. My bookshelf is spilling over but I hope to get to them soon.

Robin, definitely NOT Scfi romance, more like heart-wrenching and timeless romance surrounded with unspeakable events that just tear you to pieces.

I do both, mostly I go to the library and only buy what I will read again. Sometimes I buy before I read if the book has good reviews. I bought these all at half price book stores, I only bought one new and it was discounted anyway. I always buy paperback too and not hardcover so that is cheaper. Also the used book store I go to has many locations and has a lot of clearance books for only $1. Plus if I buy new I go to Amazon and have gotten really amazing deals there as well. I really don't buy books very often, but I agree it's nice to own copies of the good ones to read them over and over again.

I get most of mine from the library but I highly recommend owning the Outlander series so you can take your time reading them. Try the SWAP here on GoodReads or even PaperBackSwap.

Hi, yes Half Priced Bookstore is where I buy most of mine, they do have great prices. especially when you get the 15% off coupons from the calendars they give at the end of the year. as a side note, actually my first name is Bemidji (just like the town, but I don't live there). I go to the Half Priced Bookstores in the Minneapolis area.

message 12821: by La La (new)

La La | 245 comments Just finished Darkfire Kiss (Dragonfire #6) by Deborah Cooke and it was really good. I was a litte confused at the end regarding the Wyvern. Also Deborah Cooke gives an excerpt from her YA book about the children of the Pyr the main character being Zoe and her journey. It sounds interesting even though I'm not a huge fan of YA.

Now I have to think about what I should read next. I don't know if I want to PNR or go for some historical romance.

message 12822: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) @robin & crazy4more- thanks ladies I have this in my tbr on here but I've wondered what genre this series was, I'm not big on historical romance but I'm gonna give it a try one day, since its got some serious mad amounts of good reviews.

I personally think is good, the paradox thing messes with your head a bit and I feel people who have the dark hunter series which is not YA will get more out of it because of the references in the book. Nick's always been one of my fave dark hunter characters so I am enjoying this series.

yes, it starts with Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter, #0.5 Prequel) by Sherrilyn Kenyon but to me the series really starts with the 2nd book Night Pleasures (Dark-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Well, it is different from everything I've ever read - of that I'm sure. I'm so very curious to read the rest of the book.
I heard many good things about this book. I didn't had any problems in the purchase of the book, though...

I've never done the Swap, so I have no idea how it works. To be honest the Outlander series really intimidates me. I've seen mixed reviews on it and 800 pages, well wow, thats a lot of pages. I did sign up to win the first one on First Reads but I didn't get it. Is that series complete?

Sorry I assumed the city since my cousin went to school there. I didn't know they sent out coupons but I will now have to visit the cities so I can check out their half priced bookstores. It's a sickness =) I guess I should start checking out Illinois too, hehe.

Woot! Have fun with that. I really liked it! I was scared it wouldn't be on par with her Demonica series, but I really enjoyed it! I love the new characters.

For me, I'm reading Warsworn (Chronicles of the Warlands, #2) by Elizabeth Vaughan right now. 2nd book out of 4. Once I finish that: City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare , Drums of Autumn (Outlander, #4) by Diana Gabaldon & the other books in the series. I have Stay by Deb Caletti on my list too. And...many more.
