What are you reading right now?
Yeah.. I can't wait to see what will become of Vlad and Tate. I still do love her series and can't wait for the next book. But a girl gotta have some more love scene.. :)
I loved Vlad's character, I wonder if we'll see him again. It's not that I didn't like the third book, but as many of you said, I missed the interplay between Bones and Cat, it wasn't as good as it was in the first two. Admittedly this book was much darker, but it may have been setting up the next book... who knows.
I'll still wait with anticipation for the next one in the series. Poor Tate lol...

But a girl gotta have some more love scene.. :)"LOL, I mean it's not a requirement for me in all of my series, but after One Foot in the Grave, I was definitely expecting Bones to break out some more of his favorites, so was a bit let down in that aspect.
As for the development of the secondary characters, I'm referring mainly to Tate, her mum and Annette. I didn't feel anything when her friend's husband died (I can't even recall his name) as I don't think we really got to know him enough to care.
Mitabird wrote: "I'm getting ready to start reading Hunted by Amelia Elias. It's the first ..."I didn't finish this book. I found it boring.
I recently finished Oleander House by Ally Blue. I liked it, but wish it had been a bit better.
I'm trying to read Shadow Game by Christine Feehan and finding it painfully boring. I have to finish it, though, because I chose it for the Feb challenge and I just have to finish that challenge! Also started Witch Fire by Anya Bast. More interesting than Shadow Game so far, but it hasn't totally sucked me in yet either.
I guess I was just really spoiled; I finished A Rush of Wings and In the Blood by Adrian Phoenix this week and those books were soooo good, I absolutely couldn't put them down. And now I'm ruined for other books. :)
I am curently on book 2 of the Riley Jenson Guardian Novel by Keri Arthur. So far I enjoyed book one. If you are looking for raw adult sex and the supernatural then Full Moon Rising is your book (book 1), Since I just started book 2 I can not fully say what my status is just yet. But I will let you all know once I am done. This is a 6 book series. Wish me luck

I enjoyed Shadow Game, but I liked the other books in the series a little better. I think it's because the first book had to set everything up.
I'm currently reading Conspiracy Game.. I accidentally skipped the third book... but it's okay because I still understand what's going on. I also just finished Dark Prince. This one was okay.. I couldn't help but be irritated by Mikhail.. he was too domineering. But I'm interested in continuing that series as well.
I'm thinking I'm bored because it's just not "paranormal" enough, lol. Also, I feel like the romance came out of nowhere. There was absolutely no interaction between the two leads before he was all of a sudden in her head trying to comfort her. I like a romance to have some "romance", you know?
But I had read the first few chapters of one of the later books in the series... don't remember what it's called, but the characters were Jesse and Saber?
I knew it was part of a series and was going to read it anyway, but after awhile decided I'd rather read them in order so I stopped. But that one seemed pretty good. So who knows.
Nichole,
I would say Shadow Game, the first of the Ghostwalkers books, is the weakest.
The one you mentioned, with Jesse and Saber, is my favorite in the series. It's the only one that I keep rereading...LOL. I actually skip the other books, and read that one first, and then went back to read the others, because I like Jesse and Saber's relationship so much.

I think that's the problem I'm having with the challenge. I loved Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series and Amy Lane's Little Goddess series both so much that neither of the books I'm currently trying to read are holding my attention. That said, I liked Shadow Game, so maybe it gets better? LOL
Maybe.:) I finished Witch Fire this morning (that one got really good, I really enjoyed it) so my goal is to power through as much of Shadow Game as I can today. I've heard nothing but good things about the GhostWalkers series, so hopefully it will draw me in a little more.
I've just started Dark Protector and am enjoying it so far. I haven't had much time to read this weekend so I haven't really gotten very into it yet but it definitely holds promise.

I'm reading the book with Jesse and Saber in it right now, Predatory Game. It's pretty good, but I think my favorite so far is with Jack Norton and Briony. then next up is Ken Norton and Mari. But I agree with YZ, the first was definitely the weakest.
the romance in the story gets better and the characters seem to have more of a connection with one another. It also gets a little more paranormal in the abilities we see in the characters.
Ooh, I loved Outlander!Still reading Shadow Game. It's getting better; we're starting to meet other members of the team and that's more interesting. It also helps to add a touch of humor which was missing.
Also started Witchling. Haven't heard great things about that one so I'm worried it's going to be tough to get through, but I'm determined...
I loved Outlander too. I've read it a couple of times and listened to the audio (FAB-ulous reader, btw) a couple of times. Has to be one of my all time favorite stories. :)
I just finished Kresley Cole's new book in her Immortals after Dark series - Kiss of a Demon King and I loved it.. although I'm dying for more plot and this really ran fairly parallel to the last book. I'm anxiously awaiting Kim Harrison's White Witch, Black Curse - the next in her Hollows series and am excited to see she's going to start a YA series with the first book coming out in May called Once Dead, Twice Shy A Novel.
I too am anxiously awaiting Kim Harrison's new book. I got the e-mail confirmation this morning from Amazon that says the book is on it's way to me! I've already pre-ordered her YA book too. Love her writing.
She's absolutely amazing. I'm waiting for my library copy to come in. I'm too cheap lately to buy my books. Although my old boss gave me a copy of her last book, signed by her, because she got a few copies from a conference she went to. That's the only book I own of hers.
I'm currently reading "Heartbreaker" by Julie Garwood. I absolutely love it sor far but I cant get enough of rereading Cassandra Clare's "City of Bones" too so Im reading that one as well. One in the morning and one at night!
I have read the Anna Strong story bu Jeanne C Stein and the four books were really good. I am waiting for the 5th book to be released in March to see what happens next. Also I just finished reading the Riley Jenson Guardian novels. There are 6 books in that series and they are really steamy books. The 7th book comes out in march as well. at the end of the 6th book Keri Arthur leaves you wanting more...which was good and bad.
Anyone else read these books?
Chasidy, Are you gearing up for the third book? I need to reread her first two books as well! I just have so much on my shelf right now.
I had started Dead Until Dark several months ago and just couldn't get into it.Then someone suggested I try listening to the audiobook instead of reading it. I normally don't love audiobooks that much, but I decided to try it. I'm listening to it right now, and just have to say, I love the narrator of this one, especially the voice she uses for Sookie's grandmother. She actually has me laughing out loud at work... Only on chapter two, but so far the audiobook for this is working for me a lot better than trying to read it.
I'm halfway through Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely: Scary faeries, heroine with a brain, great storytelling. Stoopid day job cut me off mid-chapter. Argh. Can't wait to get back to it.
Finished Damned, Delicious and Dangerous today. It was a quick read. Three steamy novellas with sexy heroes (a fallen angel, a vampire and a demon). Plotlines are a little weak, which is understable with the shortened format, but the relationships are pretty sweet.
Damned, Delicious and Dangerous is written by Delilah Devlin, Lisa Marie Jones and Megan Kerans.
i am reaqding Kissing Coffins by Ellen Schreiber
I've just finished Lover Awakened by J R Ward. It was..oh my goodness, so amazingly steamy in parts I was opening windows! Next up is either Dead Man Rising by Lilith Saintcrow, or I'm the Vampire, That's Why by Michelle Bardsley.
Richelle wrote: "I'm reading Marked by P.C. Cast "How are you enjoying it? I just finished it the other day. I bought the first three books in the series together (suckered in by the gorgeous covers), but I'm not completely sold. I find Zoey preachy and judgmental, while still trying to be portrayed as being open minded at the same time. She really drove me nuts at times. However, I think the basic story line was interesting and the book improved as it went along. I'll definitely read the next two I own, but I don't think the series will rate against the Vampire Academy and Twilight series for me (I'm starting the Morganville Vampires next as I'm on a bit of a YA kick right now).
I just finished Outlander.. Oh man.. oh man.. I'm drained. I really like the book but it sucked the emotion out of me. Now I need something light to read. :) I'm reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks and have Betrayed by P.C. Cast waited for me on my bedside table.
Darkheart, I agree with you. I enjoyed Marked but it's not something I will re-read it. The storyline is interesting but the writing is a bit too teen for me to get into.
Since last time I posted, I finished Dark Protector, really liked it, read Visions of Heat, love her books, and am now reading Moon Called. So far it's pretty good. My library had it in the YA section which I don't really understand. I tend to like more romance in my books then you find in typical UF, but so far the story is interesting and I like Mercy a lot.
Great book choices, Lori. I enjoy Morgan's Paladins series, and of cours, you can't go wrong with Singh's Psy/Changeling books.
Moon Called is definitely not YA, and is more a UF book.

Just finished Knight of Darkness by Kinley MacGregor/Sherrilyn Kenyon. Boy was I annoyed when I realized that was the 2nd book in the series. So NOW I am reading Sword of Darkness. Very good series!
Hey guys I am getting ready to read Dancing with the Devil (Nikki & Michael, Book 1) by Keri Arthur. Has anyone in the group read it? If so can you at least give me a thumbs up or down..... well at least your poinion of itthanks
Just in the Middle of Bloodlust one of the Vampire beach novels. it's not bad, Gossip Girl meets Vampires
Finished the Michelle Bardsley book this morning and hmm. Might not be revisiting the series, although it was kind of entertaining. Will probably head onto Lilith Saintcrow next (Dead Man Rising)...anyone have any opinions about her? The series looks like it's got a few books in it.
I am reading Desire Unchained, the second book in Larissa Ione Demonica series. It's just as good as the first one was! Woo Hoo! Moss, Working for the Devil is the first book in the Dante Valentine series, Dead Man Rising is book two. Just FYI.
I am reading Kiss of Fate by Deborah Cooke and Darkness Unknown by Alexis Morgan. I just finished Storm Front by Jim Butcher and its always good to fine a new series.

Ahh okay, I have both so thanks for the tip. Will read WFTD first then. :)

I just started J.R. Ward's Brotherhood series, I read the second book and am totally hooked! I am sure to pick up a couple when I go to Borders today. Happy reading! :)
Finished Witchling by Yasmine Galehorn last night. It was a struggle, but I got through it..LOL. The last few chapters was actually fun, but I will be in no hurry to pick up the rest of the series.
April,
You will have so much fun with the BDB books. I swear, they are addictive..LOL

And every time she "kills off" a secondary character, I always kind of think "was I supposed to care about that?" Because she never took the time to develop that character, so their "death" meant nothing to me.
But I do agree with you about Vlad. He was really great, and I'm excited to see where she goes with that.
