Sandra it's that series that led me to The Iron Duke, which led me to wanting even more of steampunk romance.

I adore the Blades of the Rose series. With every book I'm looking forward more to the next one. I did prefer Warrior a bit more than Scoundrel, because I thought that relationship was more equal (I think it was the most equal relationship I've come across of in historical romance.)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 451 comments I really enjoyed both books. I especially liked the way London developed from a rather typical sheltered Victorian lady to Bennett's equal. And Thalia is great! I haven't read Iron Duke yet, but it's next in line. I want to read the novella first (not that I insist on reading things in order!).

Oh yeah, I really liked London's evolution as well. And Bennett was a real charming scoundrel. I think I just adored both Thalia's and Gabriel's non-conformism.
I'm really looking forward to Rebel because Astrid promises to be really kickass, and the Canadian frontier setting speaks to my imagination. And Stranger intrigues me because of the interracial aspect in that time era. I know we're lucky that the entire series is published in 4 months, but I still am quite impatient for the next releases :D

(Maybe we should set up a discussion topic in the group for the series though, I feel like I'm beginning to clog up this thread)

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Wow, I'm amazed how you can be on so many books and listen to audios at the same time. I would get so caught up with one until I finish OR I'd get all the plots mixed up OR read one and itching to grab the other.

I'm reading bk3 of Demonica but I've read bk4 AND already confused what happened among the books, sighs...I should just wipe my memory clean and just enjoy bk3 instead of trying to remember bk4 AND re-read bk4 when the time comes.

Keri | 158 comments Pam,

Saw you're starting Pack Challenge book 1 of the Magnus Pack by Shelly Laurenston. I loved that series, very fun read. Her Pride series, Dragon Kin series (which she wrote under the name of G. A. Aiken) and her Long Island Coven series are all REALLY good reads and guaranteed to make you LOL. She's a really great author. The series (all of them) only get better with each book. If you read the Pride series, you need to finish the Magnus Pack series first as the characters in that series are also in the Pride series. Hope you love her work as much as I do!!

What did you think of Dark Prince (Carpathians, #1) by Christine Feehan ? I have that in my TBR pile and am in need of a really good book.

message 9363: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (bexsi) I have never read a story like this one.Michail is the Prince of the Carpathians who is loosing his battle against turning into a vampire. He has to find his lifemate in time to save himself. He has lived for about a 1000 years and for the last 800 years has lived without any emotion and colour in his life. Raven his lifemate can feel his pain and reaches out to him in his mind and Raven isn't about to let Mikhail, Prince or not, walk all over her - you get the idea.
The romance in these books isn't what keeps them riveting, it's the complex characters themselves. The hero isn't perfect, and we love flawed characters
I would recomend it to all

just like you said Lucy-ann, it was the characters. I'm in the middle of Demonica#2 and the story line is so much better as far as the action, you find so much more out bt I think the sex scenes are getting a bit too dramatic. Not saying I don't like a sex scene lol it's just ok..I get it, he's THAT good...can we get on to the plot? lol

message 9373: by K (new)

K | 21 comments Finishing up with Eternal Kiss of Darkness (Night Huntress World, #2) by Jeaniene Frost . I wish there was a little less romantic formula plot (though it is better than First Drop of Crimson) and more action like Cat and Bones' books. But it is otherwise a good story, fast paced, and I love Vlad, I hope his book is next. I don't like Cat and Bones in these spin off books, they never act like themselves.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Loved loved Wraith in Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione . Though I recommend reading RECKONING pgs 442-454 in the back first. It should have been a Prologue, Wraith's life before the brothers found him. It explained his hatred toward his own race, vampire. Anywho, I'm reading Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, # 1) by Cassandra Clare before coming back to Demonica. Reason being? I've read bk4, and loved it too, but I want to clear my head b4 coming back to the last 2 bks of the series.

EowynRN | 121 comments I recently finished the Demonica series and loved it!
Can't wait for the 4 horsemen series to start.

I'm currently on a 15 minute study break from the page turning Medical Surgical Nursing book where I'm reading about Renal, Heptaic and Biliary diseases. There is a definite lack of romance in this book.
Medical-Surgical Nursing (Single Volume) Assessment and Management of Clinical Problems by Sharon L. Lewis

Hopefully after my test tonight, I will be able to dive into the next of the Dark Hunter series for me: Dance With The Devil (Dark-Hunter, #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Or I might start Emma Holly's Demon series Prince of Ice (Tale of the Demon World, #3) by Emma Holly

So tell me where are in the story. I think the idea that they are Demons somehow is understated in many novels but in this one I find it is in your face in a different way. It starts to make more sense as you go

I think The Constant Princess is my favorite of Gregory's books that I have read so far. Have you read Jean Plaidy's novel on Katherine of Aragon? It is a little bit dryer but it is a good comparison to this one.
