MsBeaglely | 118 comments Finished up Dante's Girl (Kayla Steele, #1) by Natasha Rhodes . Can't say I was too impressed with it. Very misleading cover & a cringe-worthy ending.

Started reading Greywalker (Greywalker, #1) by Kat Richardson . Another book that I've had on my bookshelf forever. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's better than Dante's Girl.

Good series I'm glad I've been able to read them all and not have to wait. Guess there is a bonus to being behind in my TBR pile.

It is funny how often she repeats things and calls people by their whole name like she thinks we have really bad memories.

it is good. starts off a bit slow and is very descriptive, but as u read it u will really appreciate the story. it depicts types of personalities very well. the fears, pains, love, experiences that make people who they are. i hope u enjoy it.

Nope, I read the prequel after (didn't know there was one), and it didn't make any difference. I did read it afterwards and it's worth reading, but I'd make it depend on how much you like the Iron Duke...

Ann | 159 comments Anyone read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon? I'm telling ya - lately have been hugely disappointed by the following books - Linger, Mocking Jay, Torment, Absolution. Waited on all these so anxiously only to be soooo disappointed. Their previous books were all soooo much better.

Still reading the BDB series - over and over and over.

message 9325: by K (new)

K | 21 comments Finished Thirsty Thirsty by Tracey Bateman . Wasn't bad, just wasn't a real vampire book, or a Christian fiction book either. It is billed as both, it is more a pop culture book on mother/daughter relationships. Easy to read, plot moved along but it just wasn't what I was hoping for.

message 9326: by *Mrs. Brightside* (new)

I ended up putting Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian book down, too. It just didn't do it for me.

message 9332: by Heather in FL (new)

Heather in FL (heather_fl) I've heard a lot of people say that after not really liking the first one, they tried the second and subsequent books from Midnight Breeds and ended up getting into the series. I've enjoyed them, but I'm easily entertained. :-) The last couple have been really good, IMO.

message 9333: by Ann (new)

Ann | 159 comments Very disappointed to hear that Beautiful Darkness wasn't as good as Beautiful Creatures. Was hoping that at least 1 new release in the past month or so was gonna be good.

message 9334: by Joyce (new)

Joyce Mannarino (joyce82270) | 155 comments Finally starting Mockingjay (Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins

message 9335: by Jan (new)

Jan (janoda) Just finished Wild Cards and Iron Horses by Sheryl Nantus , which I hoped would fill my needs for more Steampunk Romance fun (after the excellent The Iron Duke my brain lusts for more steampunk romance). It had a lovely hero and heroïne, and the setting and plot was interesting, but the story itself was a bit too tame for me.

Guess I like my steampunk romance spicy as well.

message 9336: by Lora (new)

Lora Savchova (lorasavchova) | 313 comments Finished Torment (Fallen, #2) by Lauren Kate today and didn't like it that much. It felt too much like New Moon did for the Twilight saga. Unnecessary, dull. Hope next one is more interesting, though.
Started The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan and I'm going crazy! Can't put it down! Recommending it to everybody.

message 9337: by Pam G (new)

Pam G (pgarey) Just finished Mockingjay (Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins . It was amazing. What a great series, loved it! Started listening to The Darkest Lie (Lords of the Underworld, #6) by Gena Showalter , and reading Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack, #1) by Shelly Laurenston on Kindle and Demon from the Dark (Immortals After Dark, #10) by Kresley Cole in paperback.

message 9338: by Tracy T. (new)

Tracy T. | 252 comments I finished Crave (The Fallen Angels, #2) by J.R. Ward earlier and in my opinion was way better than Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward . Now that the world has been established, I found that it was much easier to understand. Also, Issac and Grier are such a great couple.

Davina's OCD cracks me up. I wish the BDB had as good of an enemy as her.

Have you read Zoe Archer's new series that starts with Warrior (The Blades of The Rose, #1) by Zoe Archer ? It's adventure/romance in a rather steam-punky world. I'm certainly enjoying them.

I felt the same way Jen. It took over half of the book to get anywhere and start getting better. I'm not sure if I want to get the next book yet.
