Heather (sparkleyturtle) | 151 comments Reading LOTU The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld, #4) by Gena Showalter . Not sure about where this series is going. I keep reading, but it is getting repetitive. It is also like Gena is starting to try to be UF, which is taking it away from the main Lord that the story should be about. I don't know about this. Do these get better? Or do I stop at this book?

Good question. I continued and I'm not mad I did. You keep finding out more and more about the war with the Hunters and who is pulling the strings of whom. I really liked Gideon/Lies' story because every time I thought I had a handle on the story, it totally twisted and became something else. Book 5 was also really good. It seemed a bit tidy how things worked out, but at the same time, I loved reading more about the angels and Aeron was so tortured (as they all are). So, I don't know if that helps or not.

For me, it's one of those series that I want to continue reading, but it doesn't draw me in as completely as other series have.

Allstarme79 | 4 comments Crave (The Fallen Angels, #2) by J.R. Ward

I'm about 2/3 done with this and love it! So far, it's proving to be better than Covet, even though I really liked that one as well. I'm thinking this one is on par with the BDB. Also? Isaac is totally hot!

message 9275: by Jan (last edited Oct 12, 2010 12:58PM) (new)

Jan (janoda) I just finished Scoundrel (The Blades of The Rose, #2) by Zoe Archer , which is part of a steampunk/adventure/magic series, and it was equally awesome as the first book in the Blade of the Rose series. I'm so glad there release 1 per month, so I don't have to wait too long for the next one. It's like Zoe Archer writes books made for me personally, they are such a perfect blend of everything I like, with nothing too much overdone.

So I was pretty excited, but then I decided to read a couple of chapters of The Iron Duke (The Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook , and it was so incredibly good. Truly riveting, though absolutely not in an enchanting way. And I failed at reading only 1 chapters, and ended up skipping sleep altogether.
It's a steampunk romance, set in an alternate history (as are most steampunk romances, but this one is very alternate), and well, the world is just really amazing. And it's not just little details in one little place, but it's the whole planet and the history... It's extremely well done. And now I want everybody to read it to, because I need people to talk about it with, because I feel hit with a brick. It's awesome.

message 9283: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) I just started Married with Zombies by Jesse Petersen. So far I'm impressed. It's a lot more entertaining than I thought it would be. Here's what it says on the back cover:

The Couple Who Slays Together; Stays Together

MEET SARAH AND DAVID.
Once upon a time they met and fell in love. But now they're on the verge of divorce and going to couples' counseling. On a routine trip to their counselor, they notice a few odd things - the lack of cars on the highway, the missing security guard, and the fact that their counselor, Dr. Kelly, is ripping out her previous client's throat.

MEET THE ZOMBIES.
Now Sarah and David are fighting for survival in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. But just because there are zombies doesn't mean your other problems go away. If the zombies don't eat their brains, they might just kill each other.

Married with Zombies (Living with the Dead, #1) by Jesse Petersen

Yay A fellow fan!
I'd love to see a Yasmeen book as well, but I don't think we can expect one for Scarsdale, at best he'll hopefully get a secondary love story in another book.

Since the series is called the Iron Seas, and the prequel novella was also about a Captain, I'm thinking the follow up books might also be about Captains, so maybe people we haven't met yet.

It's awesome, I read it in one go as well. Can't you swap it in a challenge somewhere? I always juggle my challenge books around until the books that give me a "WANT TO READ THIS RIGHT NOW" vibe fit in :)

I've got
Warrior (The Blades of The Rose, #1) by Zoe Archer in a challenge coming up shortly. I could put Scoundrel (The Blades of The Rose, #2) by Zoe Archer in my Autumn challenge on RRR. Good idea. Now if I could figure out where to put The Iron Duke (The Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook ! I know better than to just read a few pages to see if I'll like the book. I know I'll just get sucked in.
