message 7556: by Heather in FL (new)

Heather in FL (heather_fl) I started Noah (Nightwalkers, #5) by Jacquelyn Frank over the weekend after finishing Damien (Nightwalkers, #4) by Jacquelyn Frank . I wish Damien's book had been better. I think I liked his character the best, but the story just dragged on and on. Noah's story seems to have promise of redemption though... already a good twist at the beginning of the book.

It's really good Robin, if you like BDB you might like this one too, they're similar to each other. I've read the first book so far but already looking forward to the next one.

Heather in FL (heather_fl) Robin wrote: "Hi I am shopping for a new series after I finish Lover mine It is going to be hard to read anything after that. Soes anyone like Kiss of midnight Lara Adrian?"

I liked them a lot, but I read them before BDB. Some people call them BDB light, and I might agree with that, but they're still very good and entertaining. LOVE me some Kade! (I think his is the last book out right now.) The stories are usually pretty focused on the main characters' story, versus BDB that skips around between stories a bit. I think a new one comes out in September, and I'll definitely get it, especially after how the last one ended (with a bit of mystery and I-wonder-what's-gonna-happen going on ).

Pat aka Tygyr (tygyr) | 69 comments Since I only have 2/10 read for the June Challenge I am reading 5 from my challenge list - Desire Untamed by Pamela Palmer, When the Bough Breaks by Jonathan Kellerman, The Lazarus Project by Aleksandar Hemon, The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan, and Seize the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon. When I finish 2 or 3 of these I will try to track down copies of the remaining 3. Since the month is 1/2 over and I have travel plans here and there, I may not be able to finish this challenge. We'll see.

I LOVE Richelle Mead, but man, she can put you on an emotional roller coaster. When Dimitri said that in Spirit Bound, I had to put the book down for a few minutes to recover. And I LOVE Georgina's series too. And Eugenie's (Dorian cracks me up). The last Succubus book was quite emotional. And only one left. Bet it's rough on the senses, as the last VA will be too *sighs*. LOL

I was given a book, can't recall the title, by Joss Ware the other day. I haven't really looked at it yet. What types of books does this author write? Is it paranormal? I was planning on throwing it in my bag when I head to the beach for vacation in a couple of weeks. Just wondered when I saw that you had read one by that author, but I know it wasn't that title.

message 7588: by Dija (new)

Dija I just finished reading Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver It' so depressing and inspirational and I don't feel like starting anything else until I've had some time to absorb this. <3

Nita (gillnit) Carolyn wrote: "I was given a book, can't recall the title, by Joss Ware the other day. I haven't really looked at it yet. What types of books does this author write? Is it paranorma..."

Carolyn, Joss Ware is a pseudonym for the author Colleen Gleason. Embrace the Night Eternal is the second book in her Envy Chronicles. I would describe them as post-apocalyptic paranormal romance. Three friends go hiking and discover a cave, pass out, and wake up 50 years later in a very changed world and with powers they did not have before. I have really enjoyed the first two books. The first book is Beyond the Night

Oh, man. I finished [book:Succubus Dreams|2977487] last night and damn near threw the book across the room. The breakup scene crushed me, and I kept reading hoping it would turn around. Just gut-wrenching. Between that and Dimitri's "love fades" comment in Spirit Bound, the woman can really write a heartbreaking scene. I love her for it, but it's intense.

message 7593: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (carolyn54) | 35 comments I can so relate about the breakup. I was upset for days, LOL. Yes, Richelle Mead can rip your heart out of your chest. She is really good at it. I love her books though. Great stories even if they do take me through every emotion, good and bad, that I thought I had. LOL.

message 7595: by Crazy4more (new)

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments I just finished Devil May Cry (Dark-Hunter, #13) by Sherrilyn Kenyon . I can't get myself to read the next book. It looks like children's book with its font and thinless...ok...I'm 2 books away from Acheron and I really wanted to skip it, sigh. I'll try to get thru Upon The Midnight Clear (Dark-Hunter/Dream-Hunter, #12) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

message 7596: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (carolyn54) | 35 comments I understand completely. I'm only on like book 7. And everyone tells me that Acheron's story is very heartwrenching, but also one of the best books. I LOVE Ash in the other books that I have completed. Let us know what you think of the next two! And good luck!!!

Let me know how you feel about the next books in the series. But I will warn you. Boxes of tissues close at hand would be warranted for sure. *smiles and frowns at same time*
