traceyellen | 27 comments I loved the Dante Valentine books! Japhrimel is sooo my pretend boyfriend :) That was the series that restarted my lust for books and I have been hooked on UF and paranormal romance ever since. I have been contemplating reading her new series, but I think I'm going to wait 'till there are a couple more out.

Nicole (nicole_sea) | 7 comments I've just begun Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Acheron" and, thus far, am engrossed in it as well as afraid to read more. Already, the first half is filled with pain and heartache for Ash.

message 703: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Don't be afraid Nicole. The second half is just as good and a little less heart breaking. It's one of my all time favorite books.

message 704: by Melissa (new)

Melissa The Watcher series by Lilith Saintcrow is about witches and the men created to protect them. Each book has a different witch and watcher as the main characters, but they tag along onto the next book. Basically, there are witches, called Lightbringers, with various powers and all the creepy crawly things that come out in the dark are always after them to eat their energy. The Watchers were created by adding a bit of that dark magic to a man who was looking for redemption from all the bad things in his past. The magic makes them immortal and able to heal fast and do magic and all sorts of cool tricks. Each watcher has one witch out there that they will bond with and when they meet this one witch, their redemption is complete. The bond is along the lines of Christine Feehan's Carpathian books, but these books are much more action and plot driven than romance. Each book has it's own mini plot with a series long plot thrown in, too. I have read 4 out of the 5 watcher books and loved each of them. They are just over 200 pages so they are quick. The only problem is that they are hard to find. They are trade paperback, so I didn't want to pay $14.00 for a book that would take me only a day to read so I've been hunting them down through the library system. I highly recommend them, though.

Thanks Jess I will look for the books. Maybe I can find them though the library.

message 707: by Jess (new)

Jess | 173 comments Kathy - you will definitely be able to find the dante valentine series, but I have been looking for the watcher series and it's proving difficult to find copies. I don't want to buy them, but I'll keep searching

Lori, thanks for that. It's sitting on my dining table calling me, but I didn't want my heart ripped out so early in the book, you know? Good to know it gets better for Ash.

new_user | 1389 comments Reading Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh. Loving it. I'm so glad I decided to give this author a second chance. She gets better every book.

message 711: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jessim) I am reading I Burn for You by Susan Sizemore. I just started it, but it seems pretty good so far. It is the first in a series, I can't wait to read them all.

message 712: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 22, 2008 08:58PM) (new)

Mitabird, Pleasure Unbound is wonderful, enjoy!

Just started Savage legacy by Lora Leigh, the storyline is complex so I'm still sorting my way through information. Savage Legacy (Legacies 4) by Lora Leigh

LilMisGrayBrisk | 502 comments Denni, You are right about Pleasure Unbound. It was great and I cannot wait to read the next one.

I started reading Dream Shadow by Mary Wine. It's OK so far.

message 715: by Gina (new)

Gina (ginrobi) | 137 comments Let's see... In the last little while, I started and finished:

New Blood by Gail Dayton
Gabriel's Ghost by Linnea Sinclair
Wild & Hexy by Vicki Lewis Thompson

I'm currently reading: Shades of Dark by Linnea Sinclair

message 716: by Linn (new)

Linn (sharpt33th) I just finished The Dream Thief -- which leans more on the fantasy side, of course.

However, I just received an absolutely wonderful gift from Jackie Kessler (author of Hell's Belles, etc.) so my current reading/to-read pile has been completely set aside until I finish The Road to Hell, Hotter Than Hell, and Eternal Lover. ;)

message 717: by LilMisGrayBrisk (new)

LilMisGrayBrisk | 502 comments I finished Dream Shadow by Mary Wine and I didn't really like it; it was boring. I'm going to start reading Passionate Thirst by Cameron Dean.

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) Finally, I'm reading Zsadist story of the BDB by Ward and just quit trying to finish the Nymphos Of Rocky Flats by Acevedo, not at all what the title suggests.

message 719: by Jill (new)

Jill | 24 comments I finally finished Darkfever. Now I'm reading Bloodfever. This isn't one of my favorite series so far but I have to find out what happens with Mac.

message 720: by Lori (new)

Lori (moderatrixlori) Just finished the Heaven series by Jet Mykles...oh boy were they awesome. Such yummy boys. Now I'm reading the third Merry Gentry book. Loving this series.

I feel the same way. Not one of my favorites but since the author leaves you hanging from book to book, you become curious enough to find out what happens next.

message 722: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancyjcohen) | 74 comments I'm reading Kris Longknife: Intrepid. It's not a paranormal but it's a sci fi with a strong female lead character. I've enjoyed the other five books in this series by Mike Shepherd.

message 723: by Melissa (new)

Melissa I'm about half way through Playing With Fire by Gena Showalter and LOVING it! This is the the first book I've read by her and I will definitely be checking out all of her others.

message 724: by Kathy (new)

Kathy | 65 comments I'm reading Ecstasy by Jacquelyn Frank. Its the same world as the Nightwalkers but a new group called the Shadowdwellers. Its an interesting new group to learn about so far at least.

I'm in the middle of Eileen Wilks's story in On the Prowl, and I picked up Karen Chance's Midnight's Daughter yesterday and couldn't help myself; I read the first two chapters, heh.

message 727: by Jess (new)

Jess | 173 comments I am reading the third book in Mary Janice Davidson's undead series, Undead and Unappreciated. At first I couldn't stand Betsy, but she is slowly growing on me.

I just wanted to let people know. I went into Barnes and Noble about an hour ago and I picked up At Graves End - which isn't supposed to be out until dec 30th. Yet I just bought it haha. But it's still listed as not being there online, so if you want one, head over to the store!

message 730: by Inez (new)

Inez Kelley newbie alert! But I have been following for a while.

I just read Tigress by the Tale by Teresa D'Amario. I really liked it! Lots of sexual heat and action and wildly (tongue in cheek there) sexy shifters. I totally lusted over Cassie's Dad. And I can't wait to see what she does with the secondary character of Lin, a jaguar shifter. She has a great set up for her to have her own book.

message 731: by LilMisGrayBrisk (new)

LilMisGrayBrisk | 502 comments Welcome Inez!

I'm currently reading Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts.

message 732: by Jess (new)

Jess | 173 comments Inez - Hi! Welcome to the group. that book sounds interesting, is it in a series? All of the new books I seem to be picking up are in a series. Thanks for the info :)

message 733: by Inez (new)

Inez Kelley Not that I know of or if it is, it must be the first one. There was no back story stuff like in a second or third in a series, just straight forward storyline. The set up is there for more so maybe it is the first in a planned series.

Cool, I hate it when I pick up a good book and find out it has four before it. Love new reads, thanks!

message 736: by Kathy (new)

Kathy | 65 comments I'm reading Demon's Hunger by Eve Silver.

message 737: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments What do you think of it so far, Kathy? I thought it was a little repetitive, even though I really liked the first book, Demon's Kiss.

message 738: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Hendrix (lisahendrix) | 57 comments No PNR right now. Just finished THE LOST DUKE OF WYNDHAM by Julia Quinn and am a chapter or two into JUST ONE OF THE GUYS by Kristan Higgins. Love both authors, tho' they're totally different.

message 739: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephanie_julian) | 108 comments Just picked up Raz Steel's LOVE WTIHOUT BLOOD. Raz is a hoot, very dry wit, great guy. Can't wait to read his debut book.

message 740: by LilMisGrayBrisk (new)

LilMisGrayBrisk | 502 comments I finished Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts and found it boring and I didn't care for the characters at all.

message 741: by Jill (new)

Jill | 24 comments Just bought 4 new releases and Faefever. Of the 5 I'm going to start with Feehan's Murder Game.

message 742: by Sue (new)

Sue | 43 comments I am reading "Accidentally Dead" by Dakota Cassidy, I think I should have read "Accidental Werewolf" first but oh well. It seems good so far, kind of reminds me of the Betsy books.

message 743: by Sue (new)

Sue | 43 comments "I finished Blood Brothers by Nora Roberts and found it boring and I didn't care for the characters at all. "

I tried reading the Nora Roberts "Circle" books and could not even get into the first one & I had bought them all since someone I know recommended them. They start out in some ancient time in Ireland I think and I am not into historical paranormal romance or historical romance at all with ancient speech. I prefer more modern books.

message 744: by Inez (new)

Inez Kelley I agree the Circle Trilogy was HARD to get into. I finished that series and it was okay but it took a lot to get into the story.

I liked her Three Sisters trilogy better.

message 745: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 13 comments I just started reading the first book in the Black Daggar Brotherhood Series and so far I have not been let down by all the posts of how great the books are. I will definately be reading the whole series.

Inez Kelley WRATH!!! *wipes drool off chin*

Sorry, proceed.

message 747: by Jess (new)

Jess | 173 comments I'm about to start Exit Strategy by Kelley Armstrong, although I don't think it's paranormal... I think its just about a female assasin
