I have been bulldozing through the BDB series. Finished #6 last night and started the Insider's Guide . Since that was pimped at the end of #6, I figured I should go there next and then on to 7 and 8. The short story was very sweet (with sad parts). If I'm really lucky, by the time I get to 8, Amazon and Penguin will have settled their little pissing contest and I can get the Kindle version there, but I'm not holding much hope for that. More likely B&N will get my money since I can get it there and read it on their reader app on my phone.

After I finish BDB, I have the new Sookie book waiting for me. Yay!

Thanks for the warning. The first six weren't "short" -- to me, Charlaine Harris books are very short and the Twilight Saga books were very long, lol. Phury's story was #6 and it did feel like it took a bit longer to get through, but maybe that's because half the time, I just wanted to scream "Jeez, would you guys just TALK to each other for once?" Instead of him thinking she's thinking this, and she's thinking he's thinking this. Argh! :-) Then again, I suppose that's kinda like real life, lol!

I agree that it is the weakest of the series. I read it and refused to continue. But friends kept recommending the series. So I broke down and read the second one. I'm on the sixth now. And love them.

Pretty much every character you meet you continue to see throughout the series depending whether you're in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alaska, etc., etc. LOL SK has an awesome habit of keeping you up to date on everyone and showing you little glimpses of their HEA! :D
