I love that book. And I agree on the Twilight thing. What really makes them a lot alike is the personal relationship between the main characters.

message 6602: by Heather (new)

Heather (sparkleyturtle) | 151 comments Finished Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater . It was alright, I think I would have given it 3.5 stars, if that was an option. I didn't think it got all the way to four, due to some of the choppiness on the storylines. I do think I would read the next one in it. I like the description of how the characters are acting in detail when needed, but sometimes I felt that characters were over-reacting before they had the info to react to. Then again, this is YA, and I think that is a teen thing to do.

Next up, since I don't have the new Briggs book yet, my roommate really wants me to start Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1) by Richelle Mead . Apparently, there is something worth really discussing in Thorn Queen, so I have to read book 1 to get to book 2. He cracks me up.

YES! Five stars for Shiver! I read Twilight before the movies (2007) and was totally sucked in by it along with the rest of my family. We didn't even know they were popular books. I have learned to separate the movies and actors, etc. from the books and keep my love for the books in it's own corner of my poor little brain.

I'm now finished with Halfway to the Grave, and I can truly say I loved it. I'm getting ready to see if my library has the rest of the series, so I can put them on hold or check them out. Though I had to order the first from another library and transfered over so I could pick it up, so I'm assuming I'll have to do the same this time.

I've already read the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead before starting the Night Huntress series. I loved that series so much, and I'm looking forward to picking up the fifth one soon.

You should read the Night Huntress series. The first book was a wonderful read, and left me wanting more so now I'm looking forward to enjoy the rest of the series. I would recommend the first book to anyone, and am almost positive they would fall in love with it.

I have a similar dilemma in trying to figure out what to read next. I'm not sure whether I should continue reading the Night Huntress series or read the fifth installment in the Georgina Kincaid series, Succubus Shadows. Such a difficult decision because I can honestly say that I love both series so much, even though I've only read the first book of Nigh Huntress. Decisions, Decisions...

I'm waiting for Fantasy Lover to come in at the library. I'm guessing, since you went right on to the second, that it was good? I've heard the first is ok but the series gets better.

I just read Playing With Fire (Silver Dragons, #1) by Katie MacAlister and am now starting Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs .
I'm also waiting for Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #4) by J.R. Ward so I can finish the series before Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #8) by J.R. Ward comes out. It's the only one that's not available right now. :(

Their story does continue throughout the series. But according to the author's website they will not be getting their own book. Kind of a bummer; I would have enjoyed their story more fleshed out.
