Courtney (mrs_hf) | 173 comments I'm still desperately trying to get through Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1) by Richelle Mead .

I may just end up reading another book on the side. The Stone Maiden (The Maiden Trilogy, #1) by Susan King is ready for me at the library so I'll probably start that today.

Jas (10jbean01) | 30 comments Oh no, does this mean you don't like Storm Born??

message 6353: by Courtney (new)

Courtney (mrs_hf) | 173 comments It's a good story and the writing isn't bad at all (I LOVE her Vampire Academy books)...it's just not my style of story. I'm more of a PNR reader for the actual romance of the stories. Not just tons of life lessons with random sex...

I'm only 91 pages in though so it could still turn into something I'll enjoy. I'm only reading it for my PRJ Book Club so *shrug* we'll see! :D

message 6354: by Jas (new)

Jas (10jbean01) | 30 comments hahaha, yeah, that's understandable. While I will say I LOVED this book, and the next in the series, I do feel a bit like the books ramble...if that makes sense. Sort of like I don't really know where shes going with the series or what her ultimate goal is (but I love the characters so much that I don't really care....)

And power to ya, after 91 pages if I'm not feelin a book I usually put it down! Although I do think this one is worth the read!

Same here! As far from 'real life' as possible the better!

Nicole (satori1977) | 47 comments Just started Bone Crossed (Mercedes Thompson, #4) by Patricia Briggs and I am glad it picked up right where the last one left off, literally. Also in the middle of Steamed (Steampunk Romance, #1) by Katie MacAlister , which I really like. But I might have to finish it next month if I want to read all ten books in my challenge in April.

message 6357: by Courtney (last edited Apr 01, 2010 11:49AM) (new)

Courtney (mrs_hf) | 173 comments So, I'm quite a bit further in the story now. Pushed through and it's definitely a fun story and the characters ARE fun. I don't know if I'll read the next book but this book isn't as bad as I thought it would be and I'm glad I gave it a little more time. :D

Definitely can't wait to get back to the stories I love. ;)

message 6358: by Jas (new)

Jas (10jbean01) | 30 comments I'm glad you are starting to like it! And maybe you could just keep the 2nd on the back-burner for a while (its not like the 3rd will be out anytime soon...)

Lora Savchova (lorasavchova) | 313 comments OMG, just finished Succubus Shadows (Georgina Kincaid, #5) by Richelle Mead and I'm absolutely estatic! Loved the end. I was reading with my heart clenched the entire time but the finale was even more than what I expected. For once it wasn't depressing and angsty and left me with a lot of mindfood 'till the next one. Sadly, this one just came out three days ago so I'll have to wait untill next year. *sign*

Now, I'm continuing with Witch's Canyon (Supernatural, #3) by Jeff Mariotte . Love me my Sam and Dean action, in addition to the episodes. The novels are actually very similar to the stand-alone episodes on the show and are very refreshing as well as interesting, full with the typical witty remarks and moral dilemmas. A must-read for every addicted fan of the show XD

Katie, I'm interested to see what you think of Lover Enshrined. It was my least favorite book in the series. I absolutely do not like Phury. However, my opinion is less negative than it was before I read his book; he redeems himself somewhat at the end.

message 6390: by Jas (new)

Jas (10jbean01) | 30 comments I agree Leah. After reading Zsadist's book I was psyched about Phury, because I felt for him, but really....such a let down. I didn't feel the romance. Very upsetting.

On another note, I said screw you to "Passionate Thirst" because I accidentally read a spoiler and now have to contemplate if I want to finish the book, let alone the whole trilogy. I decided to read The Darkest Kiss--finished it, and LOVED IT!! Anya is definitely high on my list of favorite heroines ever.

message 6393: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Jasmin, to be honest, I haven't liked Phury since Lover Awakened. I absolutely hated that he had that thing for Bella. Even after she was mated to his blooded brother! And, with Phury's books, I felt like some of the love scenes were such a let down. I mean, they were like obnoxious teasers! They give you some of what you want but never go all the way! It was rather irksome.

You go, girl! Show that book and trilogy who's boss! LOL. Isn't The Darkest Kiss fantastic?! I L-O-V-E Lucien and Anya. Anya and Gwen (Sabin's woman; The Darkest Whisper) are my favorite women from that series. Anya was freaking hilarious. I love her more every time I read TDK! :D

Yay some else who is reading this series :)

Leah You and i Can't seem to get enough of the Lords of the underworlds :)
we might need to go to A.A for Lords or something :P
Love Anya she is so wild, and fun..

message 6395: by Jas (new)

Jas (10jbean01) | 30 comments Anya really was hilarious! Sometimes I feel foolish when I laugh out loud at books (because then everyone turns to look at you expectantly...but you try to explain and it is never as funny to the other person) but I honestly didn't care with this book...every moment with her was just sooo refreshing and entertaining! I'm very excited to read the other books in this series, especially since there will be another great heroine along the way!

And I understand what you're saying about that stupid "love triangle" that wasn't really a triangle (I hate stupid love triangles)....Phury was behaving like an idiot but I always wondered if it was because of the twin connection. It didn't bother me in Zsadist's book because I never felt like Phury displayed or felt any sexual heat for Bella but in his own book he frustrated me to no end when he was all "I can't sex up Cormia because I love Bella" Buuuuuuulllllll shizah. I'd have rather had a different direction with Phury and a different woman. They were just so boring.

Nonieღserenity2bliss (serenity2bliss) Reading Devil May Cry (Dark-Hunter, #13) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

message 6397: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Jasmin, I know what you mean! People look at me all the time when I laugh out loud. As a matter of fact, I was laughing out loud today when I was waiting for my mom at the doctor's office and I know people were looking at me like I was crazy. LOL. All the LOTU are amazing and if you loved Anya, I know you'll love Gwen. She's one fierce Harpy.

I hear ya. That love triangle was so freaking stupid. I hated reading anything from Phury's POV after Lover Awakened because he was always bitching and moaning about how he's so in love with Bella and he wants her but he can't have her and he won't do anything because it's his brother's mate. Blah, blah, blah! Get over yourself, Phury! And get over Bella! If she wanted you, she would have picked you, but she didn't so it's time to forget about it!

Nonie, I love Devil May Cry. It's one of my favorite Dark-Hunter books :)
