Leah (leahkarge) Nicole, Ash's book is my favorite, too. Like you wanted to save him for myself! Although, I think Tory is the perfect match for him :)

message 6252: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) I am currently reading The Hunger Games. I'm moving slowly through it but I am getting through it. That's what counts! :)

I think the Hunger Games is a really great book! It's YA, but has a great message and good action in it. I haven't been able to pick up the next in the series yet bcs apparently it leaves on a cliffhanger, but am excited to read it once the last is released.

message 6254: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) I heard it's really good and I'm reading it now because my friend gave me her copy and told me I had to read it. I'm not that far into it yet, though, so there hasn't been much action as of yet.

It's got a great build-up to it!
But going back to the Ash obsession...I use to have one too, until we actually got his book and then I was disappointed. It seemed very anticlimatic to me.

message 6256: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) I didn't think Ash's book was anticlimactic. I thought it was a good book for him. I was glad he was finally able to get a HEA. That poor man has suffered so much that he deserved to finally get a book. LOL

Hi Angela, I just placed the lords of the underworld series into my TBR lost. Is this series really any good? I haven't seen to much hype about it so am a little put off.

message 6258: by Ez (new)

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments Finished Succubus Blues yesterday. I really liked it! Despite how much I liked Georgina and Seth, I think Carter might have been my favorite character. I'm definitely going to keep reading the series.

Valorie | 426 comments I finished Beyond the Dark by Angela Knight anthology and really loved it! I think it is the first anthology that I actually liked all the stories! I'm now reading Lust at First Bite (Black Lace) by Black lace erotic authors which is another anthology.

I've just finished "Bitten" by Kelley Armstrong, "City of Bones" by Cassandra Clare and "Stormborn" by Richelle Mead, the author of Vampire Academy. Wonderful books, especially the last one, I'd dare say ^^ Right now I've tossed myself head first into "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini(I've read the series twice, but don't remember half of it, so decided to start at book one again), "Untamed" by P.C. and Kristen Cast and "Frostbite" by Richelle Mead ^^

*Possible Spoilers for those that haven't read it*

When Rhage tells Mary he can't have sex with her, then goes off to do it with a stranger. When he comes back, she knows what happened. They fight, then they have sex. Whole thing just really bothered me. Didn't understand how one moment he couldn't be with her, then he could because he was "sated". And I understand about the beast, but it didn't sit well with me, then they have sex, and she feels bad about using him?? I just hate cheating scenes in a romance novel.

To Robin: Yeah, I like Richelle Mead a lot ^^ Haven't started on her other series, Succubus Blues, bot when I can afford it I'll order the first book from UK (You can't buy the great books in DK ==')

And yes, Bitten is great. I thought it was a little slow to begin with, but I quickly got out of that (: Awesome story

Would you say that these books are more dark and lustful or is there a anotherstoryline that makes it good. I only ask this since books From kenyon I thought lacked character development.

I live in Denmark, in the second biggest city in the country, Århus. Oh, well.. Let me say that the characters of Stormborn are very veldeveloped. They have lots of unique traits and stand out in the crowd without being too Mary Sue and special in the annyoing way. I think you should give the book a change, you won't regret it (I certainly hope so.. I didn't ^^). The storyline's great and origional, the writing style enchanting and of course all the erotica, under - and otherworldly creatures and funny idea just a plus.

Of course I don't know how Succubus series is yet, but I've got it recommended from a good friend who says it's worth giving a try.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I wanted to respond. I love this series. If you have Fantasy Lover, know that this one technically starts the series, but it isn't a dark hunter book. I would read them in order, but you don't really have to with the early ones. The later ones definitely make more sense because of backstory if you read the early ones. I would NOT start with Acheron. Since he is in most of the books, it helps to read the other ones to get more of a feel for him. Acheron is a powerful, and often disturbing, book. Different from her other Dark Hunter novels. It is my favorite though. Oh, and break out the kleenex when reading it. I cried for days! LOL

Lady Allison Leah: Yeah, I just finished Acheron & I want to re-read it all over again! He is so wonderful & the story is so heartwrenching! I loved it & love him. *swoon*

Jbongiorno: Definitely read the series from the beginning! I was a tad impatient because I wanted to get to Acheron's story but it's TOTALLY worth it! & then re-read Dark Side of the Moon because it might make more sense! It was a lighter one then the others, but I liked it nonetheless.

Nicole: I definitely know what you mean, I wanted him for myself too! But I agree with Leah, Tory is a perfect match, they had me smiling at the end!

Jesslynn | 164 comments Ahhh...you guys are all going to throw mock punches and kicks towards me....But I really disliked Tory. She was so plain and blah. I really disliked Ash's love story with her. I like HIS story. Like someone above, I did tear up and couldn't help but love him just a little more. But he was just made soooo "soft" in the love story and so whiny. It completely ruined his hard, bad boy demeanor and no, none of his past trials made that ok for me. Softness in a hero is not a good thing to me. I like bad boys.
I do apparently need to re-read teh Dark Side of the Moon in light of this new DH book No Mercy, though.

message 6288: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Sam, the Lords of the Underworld series is awesome. It's one of my favorite series.

Harper, Carter was my favorite character, too! As much as I love the other characters, he was just the best, IMO.

message 6289: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Charlotte, the Dark-Hunter series is fantastic, and everything I would tell you is in Nicole's comment above. Start from the beginning and absolutely do not start with Acheron.

Jesslynn, the only thing I have to say is that Acheron really is that sweet, self-conscious person. He puts on that bad boy persona that no one will guess that he has insecurities and try to get at his horrific and embarrassing past. If you don't like Tory, though, that's your prerogative. Personally, I love her, but hey, that's just my opinion!

message 6293: by Lady Allison (new)

Lady Allison Ah! Leah! You took the words right out of my mouth! He is a badass when he needs to be, especially when someone threatens those precious few he cares about but his books shows us just exactly who he is inside & how broken a person can be no matter how they look or act. This series has so much life in her imagination, I absolutely love it.

message 6294: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Exactly, Allison! That's exactly what I was trying to say. Ash is so broken that he wants to hide it from the world. And, through Tory's love and faith in him, he is able to get past it and really become the badass instead of just pretending half the time. Although, he was definitely a badass before this book. But, Tory helped him to embrace his godhood and help him get rid of that horrible bitch Artemis. This series is just so interesting and creative; I love it, too! LOL

Sigh. I hated Tory. Thought she was an immature, whiny, judgemental, rude lil brat. And with her judgemental nature in particular, I failed to see how she could help him overcome his issues. And since then, he's lost the edge that helped him be an effective leader. It's not a bad-ass thing. It's a backbone thing.

So I shan't be throwing any punches. I might be too busy dodging a few myself.

The first half of the book though? Superb. I was absolutely enthralled. His history was all I hoped it would be.
