That's a great way to explain it Leah *~*Pherocious*~*
I got the Darkest whisper this morn,i cant wait to start reading it.I will cheek out Sherrilyn Kenyon it is on my to read list hehe, I have herd about them i might give it a go once im done with the lords of underworld.

I'll definitely review it when I'm done. I hope I like it because I'm supposed to be reading all 5 books that are out for the Serial Reader Challenge. :)
I've just started Black Dagger Brotherhood. It's pretty interesting so far.On another note, I SO want to get into City of Bones because I've heard such awesome things about it, but after reading the first chapter, I don't know... My interest kind of wavered. And, I'm one of those who usually has a HARD time putting a book down once she starts it. Does it get better? :)
Just finished and really enjoyed
. Now starting
. The reviews on Goodreads aren't very stellar, but I am always willing to give a book a shot.
I've just started Blue Smoke by Nora Roberts (romantic suspense) and have Gods and Generals by Jeff Shaara (historical fiction) underweigh. I'm also going to start The Mane Squeeze by Shelly Laurenston (PNR) today. I have Cockatiels at Seven by Donna Andrews (mystery) about half way done. It's not unusual for me to have anywhere from three to five or six different books going at once.
Angela, let me know what you think of The Darkest Whisper. I look forward to your review on it :)Harper, I think you'll like the Succubus series. It's pretty good. Obviously I haven't read the fifth one yet because it hasn't come out yet, but the first four are pretty fantastic. Richelle Mead is a phenomenal author.
Cherra: I suppose that Fantasy Lover is a tad on the cheesy side, but the further into the series you get the darker they go & I absolutely ADORE them! Kenyon writes a tortured soul like no one I've read! It's worth reading them, honest. Nonie: I'm reading them all in sequence too! I was held up for a bit by the library, but I've read the last 5 in the past couple of days & I'm working my way up to ACHERON & I can't wait!
I finished
. A really cute stand alone by Dakota Cassidy. Very funny, witty writing. I'm now reading
Allison, Acheron is my favorite Dark-Hunter book. I'm re-reading it now and it just gets better and better each time.
Hmmm, I read Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter book "Dark Side of the Moon" and did not like it ...I thought it was kinda boring and just lacked-everything. The plot was sub-par, no real depth to the characters BUT I'm wondering, now (since I see so many pple who like it), if this is because I read them out of order and started with book 9?? Or maybe this one was the worst of the bunch and just a bad one to start with?
You know, I haven't read Dark Side of the Moon, yet, but I recommend starting from the beginning. You might appreciate the rest of them if you start from the beginning. But, in saying that, I love Sherrilyn, but some books I like better than others. It depends on the book.
Yeah, I think thats probably a good idea- I remember being more intrigued by the side characters than the two I was supposed to be reading about so I may have to try from the beginning. Especially since Acheron has a book and he was definitely a fascinating character! Also, another author that people seemed to like but let me down, Marjorie M. Liu. I just read "The Red Heart of Jade" and loathed it, but I really loved the first in the Dirk and Steele series and liked the 2nd a lot. Did anyone else read these series? And if so, should I keep going or give up?
I know what you mean about being more intrigued by side characters. Sometimes I feel bad because when Acheron is in a book, I'm always more interested in what he's doing because he's my favorite. I say you should definitely say you should start from the beginning, and also, don't judge the whole series on one or two of the books. Like I said, some are better than others.

I didn't think so. I finished it for the same reason of hoping that it would get better. It didn't - in my opinion.
I just finished the 4th book of the lords of the underworld series, it was fantastic, i loved ever bit of it.I couldn't put the book down..

very true, i cant wait till the next one
I finished
by Rachel Caine. I'm not a big fan of YA books but all in all I thought it was pretty good. I'm now reading
Crystal, I think the main reason I disliked Speak was because of the lack of real dialogue. I think the plot in general was okay, but I don't really think a book is a book if it doesn't have dialogue.I can certainly make some suggestions for you. Would it be okay if I sent them to you in a message instead of this thread, though?

I am going to read the first in the series--I want to like them b/c I just ordered the entire series on my kindle. It was a package deal.
Cherra wrote: "Allison wrote: "Cherra: I suppose that Fantasy Lover is a tad on the cheesy side, but the further into the series you get the darker they go & I absolutely ADORE them! Cherra, like everyone else has said, Fantasy Lover was indeed cheesy, but it also is the first book. It gets much, much better as you go through the series.
Happy to help, Cherra, and happy to hear you'll continue to read Fantasy Lover. Despite it being cheesy, I do think it is a good book.
Twidlebug wrote: "I just started Let the Right One In"I really liked this book - very dark and disturbing. Did you see the Swedish movie based off this book? I liked the movie a tad more. But you do learn more about Eli's background in the book. I guess they are making an Americanized film now.
Amber wrote: "im almost done with frostbite by rachel mead and am loving the series so far cant wait for spirit bound to come out"The series is really good isn't it? I think that the book after Frostbite, Shadow Kiss, might be my favourite, i'm sure you'll love it.
Leah *~*Pherocious*~* wrote: "Happy to help, Cherra, and happy to hear you'll continue to read Fantasy Lover. Despite it being cheesy, I do think it is a good book."I agree. I'm definitely a big fan of their story and I LOVE that they continue telling their story throughout the rest of the series. :D
Definitely, Courtney. I loved when Julian and Grace showed up in Night Pleasures, and all the times that Julian fights with Ash and the other Dark-Hunters. Love it.
Has anyone read 'Beautiful Creatures' By Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl.Went to buy it yesterday but they didn't have it in store. It sounds good :) Is it worth hunting down???

I'm actually reading that right now. I really like it so far and have heard that it's a great book. I'll let you know what I think when I finish it.

Couldn't wait for his book, and it is definitely my favorite story as well. I cried so much the first half of the book. Glad he got a happy ending, though I wanted to save him for myself. :-)
I just finished Iron Kissed and I loved it. Best on yet. I immediately picked up the next to read for the challenge next month. But right now I am trying to finish Lover Eternal. I like it better than the first, but I am a little more than half way through it and just got to a scene that almost made me change my mind. I about through the book across the room, I was so pissed.
