I'm from California, and I THOUGHT I knew what amazing beaches were... but then I went to Gold Coast. I love California, but Australia spanks us when it comes to beaches :P

Australia is amazing!!!!

You have big cities, beautiful beaches, lush rainforest, and red deserts.
And on the Gold Coast, they have sky scrapers, right on the beach.

Just dont go to Melbourne in September...AFL finals are on. Its crazy there, because most games are played there, and most teams are victorian.

message 160: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisao_0) NRL is better ( Long Live the TITANS!!!!!) ummmm not a big fan of AFL and yes there are skyscrapers right by the beach plus we have like five theme parks all down the road from each other ( well kinda more apart but you no...)

AFL IS BETTER!!!!!!!! lol, i see this going to an all out war... XD

But AFL is better! And it has a bigger fan base in Australia :)
Anyway, if your from Queensland, you should be happy with the lions this year Fev AND Brown in the forward line. PLus a new team in the GC next year....

message 165: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisao_0) uh huh no one play AFL its like *no offence to all AFL fans :( but this is the truth* social suicide here seriously everyone plays club NRL but like one out of hundred plays AFL ...:)

The Iron Daughter is book II in a trilogy by new author Julie Kagawa, whose book THE IRON KING just came out a few months ago. It's a modern faerie tale that I've heard really good things about! :P

And Perchance to Dream is another 2nd book in a trilogy, by Lisa Mantchev, that follows EYES LIKE STARS. I haven't read it yet, but the premise is that all Shakespearean characters live together in this theatre and so it's like a fantasy series with Shakespearean elements. It sounds really good!

message 176: by Rebekah Faith (new)

Rebekah Faith (musicalradiance) | 6788 comments kewl! sounds interesting. i might delve into the series' and try them sometime

message 177: by Amy (last edited Mar 31, 2010 09:31PM) (new)

Amy (aaammmyyy) Don't feel bad guys! I tend to enjoy some rather obscure books, at least ones that aren't widely known- though that is not to say I'm not really really looking forward to Lies, The Necromancer, The Red Pyramid, Charlie Bone And The Red Knight, The Reckoning, The Scorch Trials, and Camp Half Blood (the new series)!! Cause I am :) But if I listed everything I couldn't wait for it's be a mile long :D

And there's a bunch that are coming out in 2011 and 2012 that I'm super excited for as well. (Libba Bray's The Diviners, Kristin Cashore's Bitterblue, Tamora Pierce's Mastiff...and more) [8

hmmm I'm not sure about that! Maybe it was The Iron King? Sometimes bloggers get ARCs to review, but I think it's too early to see IRON DAUGHTER ARCs...

message 183: by Amy (new)

Amy (aaammmyyy) Harlequin distributes ARCS through an online service as eBooks and some bloggers have already gotten it for review. So jealous!!

message 184: by Miss Amelia (new)

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) eww well I would just as soon wait! Ebooks are stupid :) (my opinion, at least!)

message 185: by Miss Ryoko (new)

Miss Ryoko (missryoko) | 349 comments My eyes would hurt! But maybe if it was a book I really wanted to read, I'd be down for getting the books before they come out to read them! Some people got to read Christopher Moore's new book last month and I was so jealous! (it came out March 23rd)

message 186: by [deleted user] (new)

Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead, The Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare,
The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong, among other books :)

Put a space between the ... and the link. It seems minor, but I'm pretty sure it will automatically make it a link.

Unless you mean the book...in which case you should click on the "add book/author" button above the comment box. But you probably knew that :)

Mckenzie...that sounds like a depressing set of books, simply going off of the titles...

message 192: by ★ Jess (new)

I agree with that last bit Jordan. :S

I am looking forward to the Red Pyramid too Amy - am currently reading book one of the new "curse workers" series from Holly Black [book:White Cat|6087756] and next up is the Iron Daughter...I have to say that Kagawa's new Iron Fey world is my current favorite...
