Medea sighed to herself. She had given out all of her Christmas presents, so now she probably needed to pack to go home. I want to go home, of course... but I don't want to leave my friends. She also didn't want to stop staring at the painting Akrisios had given her. "Hey, I'll be back soon, guys. Bye," she said to the group.

Medea waved to the group, then started off to the Ravenclaw common room. Her bag of torn wrapping paper and new presents kept banging against her legs, and her painting was hard to grip. She stopped to adjust both of them. When she looked up again, she noticed a boy. "Oh! Um, hi Tristin. Merry Christmas," she ventured.

Without meaning to, her grip on the painting tightened. There was no way she was letting go of it. "Thanks for offering, but I'm good," she said with a smile. Her smile faltered a little as he looked at her.

Medea shrugged. "Well, I guess I would appreciate the help, if you don't mind. Thanks!" How chivalrous, she thought wryly. She struggled for a moment to get the strap off her shoulder, then set the bag down on the ground.

"Thanks. Yeah, I need to pack for the holidays." Medea's smile was starting to feel stiff. "What are you up to today?"

"Oh, that's nice," Medea said, returning his smile tentatively. "You have an older brother too? Mine is 19. Then... there's just me." No need to bring up tears by going more in-depth about her family. Besides, she didn't know Tristin well at all - so she needed to monitor the way she portrayed herself carefully.

"Excues me." Ixandrias said quietly, holding a thick book against her chest. A soft mew followed her request, as if the kitten on her shoulder was asking to be excuesed too. Carfully she stepped past Tristain and Medea into the hall. She walked briskly once out of the common room, trying to keep her mind off the letter just inside the cover of the book.

"Marry Christmas." She replied, turning to walk back wards. She offered a smile, careful not to fall over her robes. When they began walking away, Ixandrias did the same, heading toward the Owlery.
