This classroom was in a dungeon; of course there was no window. But all the talk of brooms and flying had given her the strangest urge to look at the sky...

Caleb nodded. "Yeah, Mondays are hard. 'specially the mornings, since it's the start of a school week. I had this friend though, back in California. Monday mornings did nothing to him. He'd come bang on my window the second the sun peeked over the horizon and grin through the glass, and it drove me crazy." Caleb shook his head with a chuckle. "But he was cool."

I know it's disappointing to discover that you could never be a Seer, but someday you'll see that that Path would not have worked for you," she said sadly. Caleb flashed her a beaming grin. "Well, Tuesday is just an amazing day. Firstly, it's the day after Monday, so the awful beginning-of-the-week stuff is over, and it's a huge relief." He nodded wisely, letting his shoulders relax. "All over the world, people think, Ah, yes, it's finally Tuesday!" His grin returned. "And Tuesday is my lucky day of the week. The three biggest soccer matches I've won have been on Tuesdays." He shrugged, letting out a laugh. "Like I said, it's just an amazing day of the week."

"Toast? Do you use a toaster or magic?" Medea bit her lip to keep from smiling. Both magic and a toaster seemed impossible to burn toast with - but then, most boys she knew lacked that knack for cooking. Of course, many girl did too, she reminded herself. She was only a good cook because her mother hated cooking, and if she had wanted something good to eat, she had to make it herself.

Medea smiled at the ceiling, looking up searchingly as she spoke. "That would be so much fun to learn. And it would actually be practical, unlike Divination."

Medea nodded enthusiastically. "That would be great. You could eat whatever you wanted, whenever you were hungry. Plus, it sounds like fun just to wave your wand and make stuff appear. Unfortunately, it's a lot more complicated than that," she sighed ruefully. She recalled Theseus' amusement when she had first gotten her wand - she had expected everything to just happen.

Caleb gave Lyra a smile, trying not to look questioning. She was always thinking about something, but it wasn't his job to bother her about it. He nodded contemplatively. "Fridays are good, too," he agreed. "Since they're right before the weekend."
